Der Wert der Weisheit

1 Mein Sohn, höre auf mich und befolge meine Ratschläge! 2 Nimm dir die Lebensweisheiten zu Herzen, die ich dir weitergebe, achte genau auf sie und werde klug! 3 Ringe um Verstand und Urteilskraft, 4 suche danach voller Eifer wie nach einem wertvollen Schatz! 5 Dann wirst du den HERRN immer besser kennen lernen und Ehrfurcht vor ihm haben. 6 Er allein gibt Weisheit, und nur von ihm kommen Wissen und Urteilskraft. 7 Aufrichtigen Menschen schenkt er Gelingen; er hilft allen, die so leben, wie es ihm gefällt. 8 Wer andere gerecht behandelt und Gott die Treue hält, steht unter seinem Schutz. 9 Mein Sohn, wenn du auf mich hörst, wirst du erkennen, was richtig, gerecht und gut ist. So findest du stets den richtigen Weg. 10 Du erlangst Weisheit und hast deine Freude daran, wohlüberlegt zu handeln. 11 Deine Umsicht und Besonnenheit werden dich schützen 12 und dich davor bewahren, Böses zu tun. Dann bist du gewappnet gegen Menschen, die mit ihren Worten andere täuschen 13 und selbst krumme Wege gehen. Solche Leute haben sich vom Guten abgewandt; 14 sie führen ständig Böses im Schilde und haben auch noch Spaß daran, das Recht zu verdrehen! 15 Alles, was sie sagen und tun, ist verlogen und verkommen. 16 Besonnenheit schützt dich auch vor der Frau eines anderen Mannes, vor der Verführerin, die dich mit ihren schmeichelnden Worten umgarnt. 17 Dem Mann, den sie in ihrer Jugend geheiratet hat, ist sie untreu – und damit bricht sie den Bund, den sie vor Gott geschlossen hat. 18 Ihr Haus steht direkt am Abgrund des Todes: Wer sich ihm nähert, begibt sich in tödliche Gefahr. 19 Niemand, der sich mit ihr einlässt, kommt mit dem Leben davon. 20 Suche stattdessen nach guten Vorbildern, die dir zeigen, wie man ein rechtschaffenes Leben führt. 21 Wer aufrichtig ist und Gott gehorcht, darf lange auf dieser Welt^[1] wohnen; 22 wer aber Böses tut und Gott die Treue bricht, wird mit einem Mal herausgerissen.

1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; 2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; 3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; 4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. 7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. 8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. 9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea , every good path. 10 When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; 11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: 12 To deliver thee from the way of the evil man , from the man that speaketh froward things; 13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; 14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; 15 Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths: 16 To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; 17 Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God. 18 For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead. 19 None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life. 20 That thou mayest walk in the way of good men , and keep the paths of the righteous. 21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. 22 But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

Pourquoi rechercher la sagesse

1 Mon fils, si tu acceptes mes paroles, si tu conserves mes préceptes au fond de toi-même, 2 si tu prêtes une oreille attentive à la sagesse, en inclinant ton cœur vers l’intelligence, 3 oui, si tu fais appel au discernement, si tu recherches l’intelligence, 4 si tu la recherches comme de l’argent, si tu creuses pour la trouver comme pour découvrir des trésors^[1], (Hi 28,12; Spr 3,14; Spr 8,11; Spr 16,16; Pred 7,11; Pred 9,16)

5 alors tu comprendras ce qu’est craindre l’Eternel, et tu apprendras à connaître Dieu. 6 Car l’Eternel donne la sagesse, et ce sont ses paroles qui procurent la connaissance et l’intelligence. 7 Il réserve son secours aux hommes droits. Comme un bouclier, il protège ceux qui vivent de manière intègre. 8 Il préserve ceux qui vivent selon la droiture. Il veille sur le cheminement de ceux qui lui sont fidèles. 9 Alors tu apprendras à discerner ce qui est juste, conforme au droit, à vivre selon la droiture, et à reconnaître tous les sentiers du bien. 10 Alors la sagesse pénétrera dans ton cœur et la connaissance fera tes délices. 11 La réflexion sera ta sauvegarde et l’intelligence veillera sur toi 12 pour te préserver de la mauvaise voie et des hommes qui tiennent des propos fourbes, 13 de ceux qui abandonnent le droit chemin pour s’engager dans des sentiers obscurs, 14 qui prennent plaisir à faire le mal, qui sont tout contents de s’enfoncer dans la perversité, 15 dont les chemins sont tortueux et le comportement pervers. 16 Alors tu seras aussi préservé de la femme d’autrui, de l’inconnue^[2] aux paroles enjôleuses, (Spr 5,20; Spr 7,5) 17 qui abandonne l’époux de sa jeunesse et qui a oublié l’alliance conclue au nom de son Dieu^[3]. (Mal 2,14) 18 Elle sombre vers la mort qui est sa demeure^[4], et sa conduite mène au séjour des trépassés; 19 aucun de ceux qui vont chez elle n’en revient, aucun ne retrouve les chemins de la vie. 20 Si tu écoutes mes conseils, tu marcheras sur le chemin des hommes de bien et tu suivras les sentiers des justes. 21 Car les hommes droits habiteront le pays^[5], et ceux qui sont intègres s’y maintiendront, (1Mo 17,8; Ps 37,29) 22 mais les méchants en seront extirpés, et les traîtres en seront arrachés.
