Der Engel des Herrn kündigt Simsons Geburt an

1 Wieder taten die Israeliten, was dem HERRN missfiel. Deshalb ließ er zu, dass die Philister sie vierzig Jahre lang unterdrückten. 2 Zu dieser Zeit lebte ein Mann namens Manoach. Er kam aus Zora und gehörte zum Stamm Dan. Manoach war verheiratet, aber er hatte keine Kinder, weil seine Frau unfruchtbar war. 3 Eines Tages erschien der Engel des HERRN seiner Frau und sagte: »Du konntest bisher keine Kinder bekommen. Aber nun wirst du schwanger werden und einen Sohn zur Welt bringen. 4 Achte darauf, keinen Wein oder andere berauschende Getränke zu trinken. Iss auch nichts, was der Herr für unrein erklärt hat! 5 Denn der Sohn, den du bekommst, wird schon im Mutterleib Gott geweiht sein. Niemals dürfen seine Haare geschnitten werden! Er wird beginnen, Israel von den Philistern zu befreien.« 6 Da lief die Frau zu Manoach und erzählte ihm: »Ein Bote Gottes ist bei mir gewesen. Er sah aus wie ein Engel! Ich hatte solche Angst! Ich habe ihn nicht einmal gefragt, woher er kommt. Er hat sich auch nicht vorgestellt. 7 Er sagte zu mir, ich würde schwanger werden und einen Sohn bekommen. Deshalb soll ich keinen Wein oder andere berauschende Getränke mehr trinken und nichts essen, was der Herr für unrein erklärt hat. Denn das Kind soll von Mutterleib an bis zu seinem Tod Gott geweiht sein.« 8 Da betete Manoach: »Bitte, Herr, schick doch deinen Boten noch einmal zu uns, damit er uns genau sagt, was wir mit dem Jungen tun sollen, den wir bekommen.« 9 Gott erhörte ihn und sandte seinen Engel zum zweiten Mal zu der Frau. Sie war gerade ohne ihren Mann auf dem Feld. 10 Schnell lief sie zu Manoach und rief: »Komm! Der Mann, der neulich bei mir war, ist wieder da.« 11 Manoach ging mit ihr zu dem Engel und sagte zu ihm: »Bist du der Mann, der mit meiner Frau gesprochen hat?« »Ja, ich bin es«, antwortete er. 12 Da fragte Manoach: »Wenn deine Ankündigung eintrifft, wie sollen wir dann mit dem Jungen umgehen? Wie müssen wir uns verhalten?« 13 Der Engel des HERRN erwiderte: »Deine Frau soll alles meiden, was ich ihr genannt habe. 14 Sie darf nichts essen, was aus Trauben zubereitet ist, und keinen Wein oder andere berauschende Getränke trinken. Außerdem soll sie nichts essen, was Gott für unrein erklärt hat. Sie muss alle meine Anweisungen befolgen.« 15 »Bitte, bleib noch da«, bat Manoach den Engel des HERRN. »Wir möchten dir einen jungen Ziegenbock zum Essen zubereiten!« 16 Denn er wusste nicht, wen er vor sich hatte. Der Engel des HERRN antwortete: »So sehr du mich auch drängst, ich werde nichts essen. Aber wenn du willst, dann bring es dem HERRN als Brandopfer dar!« 17 »Wie heißt du?«, fragte Manoach. »Wir würden uns gern bei dir bedanken, wenn deine Ankündigung eintrifft.« 18 Der Engel erwiderte: »Du fragst nach meinem Namen? Er ist unbegreiflich für dich!^[1]« 19 Manoach nahm den jungen Ziegenbock sowie Brot für das Speiseopfer und verbrannte es zu Ehren des HERRN auf einem Felsblock. Da ließ Gott vor ihren Augen ein Wunder geschehen: 20 Als das Feuer zum Himmel aufloderte, stieg der Engel des HERRN in der Flamme empor und verschwand. Manoach und seine Frau warfen sich erschrocken zu Boden. 21 Es war ihre letzte Begegnung mit dem Engel des HERRN. Nun begriff Manoach, mit wem sie gesprochen hatten. 22 »Wir müssen sterben!«, rief er. »Wir haben Gott gesehen!« 23 Doch seine Frau entgegnete: »Wenn der HERR uns töten wollte, hätte er bestimmt nicht unser Opfer angenommen. Dann hätte er uns auch nicht dies alles sehen lassen und uns nicht so etwas angekündigt.« 24 Einige Zeit später brachte Manoachs Frau einen Sohn zur Welt und nannte ihn Simson. Der Junge wuchs heran, und der HERR segnete ihn. 25 In Mahane-Dan zwischen Zora und Eschtaol wurde er zum ersten Mal vom Geist des HERRN erfasst.

6 Then the woman came and told her husband, “A man of God came to me, and his appearance was like the appearance of the angel of God, very awesome. I did not ask him where he was from, and he did not tell me his name, (5Mo 33,1; Ri 13,17) 7 but he said to me, ‘Behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. So then drink no wine or strong drink, and eat nothing unclean, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb to the day of his death.’” (Ri 13,3) 8 Then Manoah prayed to the Lord and said, “O Lord, please let the man of God whom you sent come again to us and teach us what we are to do with the child who will be born.” 9 And God listened to the voice of Manoah, and the angel of God came again to the woman as she sat in the field. But Manoah her husband was not with her. 10 So the woman ran quickly and told her husband, “Behold, the man who came to me the other day has appeared to me.” 11 And Manoah arose and went after his wife and came to the man and said to him, “Are you the man who spoke to this woman?” And he said, “I am.” 12 And Manoah said, “Now when your words come true, what is to be the child’s manner of life, and what is his mission?” (Lk 1,66) 13 And the angel of the Lord said to Manoah, “Of all that I said to the woman let her be careful. 14 She may not eat of anything that comes from the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, or eat any unclean thing. All that I commanded her let her observe.” (Ri 13,4; Ri 13,7) 15 Manoah said to the angel of the Lord, “Please let us detain you and prepare a young goat for you.” (1Mo 18,5; Ri 6,19) 16 And the angel of the Lord said to Manoah, “If you detain me, I will not eat of your food. But if you prepare a burnt offering, then offer it to the Lord.” (For Manoah did not know that he was the angel of the Lord.) 17 And Manoah said to the angel of the Lord, “What is your name, so that, when your words come true, we may honor you?” (Ri 13,6) 18 And the angel of the Lord said to him, “Why do you ask my name, seeing it is wonderful?” (1Mo 32,29; Jes 9,6) 19 So Manoah took the young goat with the grain offering, and offered it on the rock to the Lord, to the one who works^[1] wonders, and Manoah and his wife were watching. Then Manoah knew that he was the angel of the Lord. (Ri 6,22) 22 And Manoah said to his wife, “We shall surely die, for we have seen God.” (Ri 13,21) 23 But his wife said to him, “If the Lord had meant to kill us, he would not have accepted a burnt offering and a grain offering at our hands, or shown us all these things, or now announced to us such things as these.” 24 And the woman bore a son and called his name Samson. 1 Pero los hijos de Israel volvieron a hacer lo malo ante los ojos de YHVH, y YHVH los entregó en poder de los filisteos cuarenta años. 2 Hubo entonces un hombre de Sora, de la tribu de Dan, llamado Manoa. Su mujer era estéril y no había tenido descendencia. 3 Pero el ángel de YHVH se apareció a aquella mujer y le dijo: He aquí que eres estéril y no has tenido descendencia, pero concebirás y darás a luz un hijo. 4 Ahora pues, no bebas vino ni licor fuerte, ni comas cosa inmunda. 5 porque he aquí concebirás y darás a luz un hijo. No pasará navaja sobre su cabeza, porque ese niño será nazareo de Dios desde el vientre, y él comenzará a librar a Israel de mano de los filisteos. 6 La mujer fue entonces y habló a su marido, diciendo: Un varón de Dios vino a mí, y su aspecto era como el aspecto de un ángel de Dios, muy terrible; y no le pregunté de dónde era, ni él me declaró su nombre; 7 sólo me dijo: He aquí, concibe, y darás a luz un hijo, y no bebas ahora vino ni licor fuerte, ni comas cosa inmunda, porque este niño será nazareo de Dios desde el vientre hasta el día de su muerte. 8 Entonces Manoa imploró a YHVH, y dijo: Ah, Señor mío, te ruego que venga de nuevo a nosotros aquel varón de Dios que enviaste, y nos instruya qué haremos con el niño que ha de nacer. 9 Y Ha-’Elohim escuchó la voz de Manoa, y el ángel de Dios vino otra vez a la mujer, estando ella sentada en el campo, pero Manoa, su marido, no estaba con ella. 10 Y la mujer se apresuró y corrió y le informó a su marido, y le dijo: He aquí que se me ha aparecido el mismo hombre que vino a mí el otro día. 11 Y se levantó Manoa y fue tras su mujer, y llegando ante aquel varón, le dijo: ¿Eres tú el varón que habló a esta mujer? Y Él dijo: Yo soy. 12 Y Manoa dijo: Que se cumpla tu palabra. ¿Cómo será el modo de vida del niño y qué se le ha de hacer? 13 Y el ángel de YHVH respondió a Manoa: La mujer se guardará de todas las cosas que Yo le dije: 14 No comerá nada que proceda de la vid, ni beberá vino ni licor fuerte, y no comerá cosa inmunda. Guardará todo lo que le ordené. 15 Entonces Manoa dijo al ángel de YHVH: Te ruego, permítenos detenerte y preparar para ti un cabrito del rebaño. 16 El ángel de YHVH respondió a Manoa: Aunque me detuvieras no comería de tu manjar, pero si preparas holocausto, ofrécelo a YHVH. Y Manoa no sabía que era el ángel de YHVH. 17 Y dijo Manoa al ángel de YHVH: ¿Cuál es tu nombre, para que te honremos cuando se cumpla tu palabra? 18 Y el ángel de YHVH respondió a Manoa: ¿Por qué preguntas mi Nombre si ves que es oculto? 19 Entonces Manoa tomó un cabrito del rebaño, y la ofrenda vegetal, y lo sacrificó sobre la peña a YHVH. Y mientras Manoa y su mujer lo contemplaban, obró maravillosamente; 20 porque sucedió que mientras la llama subía de sobre el altar hacia los cielos, también el ángel de YHVH ascendió juntamente con la llama del altar. Al verlo Manoa y su mujer, cayeron en tierra sobre sus rostros. 21 Y el ángel de YHVH no volvió más a mostrarse a Manoa ni a su mujer. Entonces Manoa comprendió que era el ángel de YHVH. 22 Por lo cual Manoa dijo a su mujer: ¡Sin duda moriremos, porque hemos visto a ’Elohim! 23 Pero su mujer le respondió: Si YHVH hubiera querido hacernos morir, no habría tomado de nuestra mano el holocausto y la ofrenda, ni nos habría mostrado estas cosas, ni nos habría anunciado en este tiempo cosa semejante. 24 Y la mujer dio a luz un hijo, y llamó su nombre Sansón. Y el niño creció, y YHVH lo bendijo. 25 Y el Espíritu de YHVH comenzó a impulsarlo en los campamentos de Dan, entre Sora y Estaol.

1 I figli d’Israele continuarono a fare ciò che era male agli occhi del Signore e il Signore li diede nelle mani dei Filistei per quarant’anni. 2 C’era un uomo di Sorea, della famiglia dei Daniti, di nome Manoà; sua moglie era sterile e non aveva figli. 3 L’angelo del Signore apparve alla donna e le disse: «Ecco, tu sei sterile e non hai figli; ma concepirai e partorirai un figlio. 4 Ora guardati dunque dal bere vino o bevanda alcolica e non mangiare nulla di impuro. 5 Poiché ecco, tu concepirai e partorirai un figlio, sulla testa del quale non passerà rasoio, perché il bambino sarà un nazireo, consacrato a Dio dal seno di sua madre, e sarà lui che comincerà a liberare Israele dalle mani dei Filistei». 6 La donna andò a dire a suo marito: «Un uomo di Dio è venuto da me; aveva l’aspetto di un angelo di Dio, un aspetto davvero tremendo. Io non gli ho domandato da dove veniva, ed egli non mi ha detto il suo nome; 7 ma mi ha detto: “Ecco, tu concepirai e partorirai un figlio; ora non bere né vino né bevanda alcolica e non mangiare niente di impuro, perché il bambino sarà un nazireo, consacrato a Dio dal seno di sua madre e fino al giorno della sua morte”». 8 Allora Manoà supplicò il Signore e disse: «Signore, ti prego che l’uomo di Dio che ci avevi mandato torni di nuovo a noi e ci insegni quello che dobbiamo fare per il bambino che nascerà». 9 Dio esaudì la preghiera di Manoà, e l’angelo di Dio tornò ancora dalla donna, che era seduta nel campo; ma Manoà, suo marito, non era con lei. 10 La donna corse in fretta a informare suo marito e gli disse: «Ecco, quell’uomo che venne da me l’altro giorno mi è apparso». 11 Manoà si alzò, andò dietro a sua moglie e, raggiunto quell’uomo, gli disse: «Sei tu che parlasti a questa donna?» E quegli rispose: «Sono io». 12 E Manoà: «Quando la tua parola si sarà avverata, quale norma si dovrà seguire per il bambino? Che cosa si dovrà fare per lui?» 13 L’angelo del Signore rispose a Manoà: «Si astenga la donna da tutto quello che le ho detto. 14 Non mangi nessun prodotto della vigna, né beva vino o bevanda alcolica, e non mangi niente d’impuro; osservi tutto quello che le ho comandato». 15 Manoà disse all’angelo del Signore: «Ti prego, permettici di trattenerti e di prepararti un capretto!» 16 L’angelo del Signore rispose a Manoà: «Anche se tu mi trattenessi non mangerei del tuo cibo; ma, se vuoi fare un olocausto, offrilo al Signore». Manoà non sapeva che quello fosse l’angelo del Signore. 17 Poi Manoà disse all’angelo del Signore: «Qual è il tuo nome, affinché, quando si saranno adempiute le tue parole, noi ti rendiamo onore?» 18 L’angelo del Signore gli rispose: «Perché mi chiedi il mio nome? Esso è meraviglioso». 19 Manoà prese il capretto e l’oblazione e li offrì al Signore su una roccia. Allora avvenne una cosa prodigiosa: Manoà e sua moglie stavano guardando 20 e, mentre la fiamma saliva dall’altare al cielo, l’angelo del Signore salì con la fiamma dell’altare. Manoà e sua moglie, vedendo questo, caddero con la faccia a terra. 21 L’angelo del Signore non apparve più né a Manoà né a sua moglie. Allora Manoà riconobbe che quello era l’angelo del Signore 22 e disse a sua moglie: «Noi moriremo sicuramente, perché abbiamo visto Dio». 23 Ma sua moglie gli disse: «Se il Signore avesse voluto farci morire, non avrebbe accettato dalle nostre mani l’olocausto e l’oblazione; non ci avrebbe fatto vedere tutte queste cose e non ci avrebbe fatto udire proprio ora delle cose come queste». 24 Poi la donna partorì un figlio, a cui pose nome Sansone. Il bambino crebbe e il Signore lo benedisse. 25 Lo Spirito del Signore cominciò a sospingerlo quando era a Maane-Dan, fra Sorea ed Estaol.
