1Danach sah ich einen Engel vom Himmel herabkommen. In seiner Hand hielt er den Schlüssel zum Abgrund und eine schwere Kette.2Er ergriff den Drachen, die alte Schlange – sie ist nichts anderes als der Teufel oder Satan –, und legte ihn für tausend Jahre in Fesseln.3Der Engel warf ihn in den Abgrund, verschloss den Eingang und versiegelte ihn. Nun konnte der Satan die Völker nicht mehr verführen, bis die tausend Jahre vorüber waren. Nach dieser Zeit muss er noch einmal für kurze Zeit freigelassen werden.4Nun sah ich mehrere Thronsessel. Auf ihnen nahmen diejenigen Platz, die den Auftrag bekamen, über andere Gericht zu halten. Es waren die Seelen der Menschen,[1] die man enthauptet hatte, weil sie sich treu zu Jesus und zu Gottes Botschaft bekannt hatten. Sie hatten das Tier und seine Statue nicht angebetet, hatten sein Zeichen nicht auf ihrer Stirn oder Hand getragen. Jetzt wurden sie wieder lebendig und herrschten mit Christus tausend Jahre.5Dies ist die erste Auferstehung. Die anderen Toten wurden erst wieder lebendig, nachdem die tausend Jahre vorüber waren.6Glücklich sind alle, die an der ersten Auferstehung teilhaben. Denn sie sind Gottes Eigentum. Über sie hat der zweite Tod[2] keine Macht. Als Priester von Gott und von Christus werden sie tausend Jahre mit Christus herrschen.
Der Sieg über den Satan
7Wenn die tausend Jahre vorüber sind, wird der Satan aus seinem Gefängnis freigelassen.8Dann wird er alle Völker der Welt, Gog und Magog,[3] zum Kampf anstiften und aufmarschieren lassen. So zahlreich wie der Sand am Meer werden sie sein. (Hes 38,1)9Sie zogen herauf, überrannten die ganze Erde und umzingelten das Lager des Gottesvolkes und die geliebte Stadt Gottes. Doch da fiel Feuer vom Himmel und vernichtete die Heere des Satans.10Er selbst, der sie verführt hatte, wurde nun auch in den See mit brennendem Schwefel geworfen, zu dem Tier und dem falschen Propheten. Immer und ewig müssen sie dort Tag und Nacht schreckliche Qualen erleiden.
Das Letzte Gericht
11Ich sah einen großen, weißen Thron und den, der darauf saß. Erde und Himmel konnten seinen Anblick nicht ertragen, sie verschwanden im Nichts.12Und ich sah alle Toten vor dem Thron Gottes stehen: die Mächtigen und die Namenlosen. Nun wurden Bücher geöffnet. Über alle Menschen wurde das Urteil gesprochen, und zwar nach ihren Taten, wie sie darin beschrieben waren. Auch das Buch des Lebens wurde aufgeschlagen.13Das Meer gab seine Toten zurück, ebenso der Tod und das Totenreich. Alle, ohne jede Ausnahme, wurden entsprechend ihren Taten gerichtet.14Der Tod und das ganze Totenreich wurden in den See aus Feuer geworfen. Das ist der zweite, der ewige Tod.15Und alle, deren Namen nicht im Buch des Lebens aufgeschrieben waren, wurden ebenfalls in den Feuersee geworfen.

After that he must be released for a little while. The Defeat of Satan
7And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison (Offb 20,2)8and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. (Hes 38,2; Hes 39,1; Offb 16,14; Offb 20,3; Offb 20,10)9And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven[2] and consumed them, (Ps 132,13; Jes 8,8; Hes 38,9; Hes 38,16; Hab 1,6; Hebr 13,11; Hebr 13,13; Offb 13,13)10and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Judgment Before the Great White Throne
11Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. (Ps 102,26; Dan 2,35; Offb 12,8)12And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. (Dan 7,10; Mt 16,27; Röm 14,10; 2Kor 5,10; Offb 3,5; Offb 11,18)13And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. El juicio final
11Vi un gran trono blanco, y al que estaba sentado en él, ante cuyo rostro huyeron la tierra y el cielo, y no fue hallado lugar para ellos.12Y vi a los muertos, grandes y pequeños, en pie delante del trono, y unos rollos fueron abiertos, y también fue abierto otro rollo, el cual es de la vida; y fueron juzgados los muertos por las cosas que habían sido escritas en los rollos, según sus obras.13Y el mar entregó a los muertos que había en él, y la Muerte y el Hades entregaron los muertos que había en ellos, y fueron juzgados, cada uno según sus obras.14Y la Muerte y el Hades fueron arrojados al lago de fuego. Ésta es la muerte segunda: El lago de fuego.15Y el que no fue hallado inscrito en el libro de la vida, fue lanzado al lago del fuego.

Satana legato; il regno millenario di Cristo
1Poi vidi scendere dal cielo un angelo con la chiave dell’abisso e una grande catena in mano.2Egli afferrò il dragone, il serpente antico, cioè il diavolo, Satana, lo legò per mille anni3e lo gettò nell’abisso, che chiuse e sigillò sopra di lui, perché non seducesse più le nazioni finché fossero compiuti i mille anni, dopo i quali dovrà essere sciolto per un po’ di tempo.4Poi vidi dei troni. A quelli che vi si misero seduti fu dato di giudicare. E vidi le anime di quelli che erano stati decapitati per la testimonianza di Gesù e per la parola di Dio, e di quelli che non avevano adorato la bestia né la sua immagine e non avevano ricevuto il suo marchio sulla fronte e sulla mano. Essi tornarono in vita e regnarono con Cristo per mille anni.5Gli altri morti non tornarono in vita prima che i mille anni fossero trascorsi. Questa è la prima risurrezione.6Beato e santo è colui che partecipa alla prima risurrezione. Su di loro non ha potere la morte seconda, ma saranno sacerdoti di Dio e di Cristo e regneranno con lui mille anni.
Satana sciolto; l’ultima rivolta
7Quando i mille anni saranno trascorsi, Satana sarà sciolto dalla sua prigione8e uscirà per sedurre le nazioni che sono ai quattro angoli della terra, Gog e Magog, per radunarle alla battaglia: il loro numero è come la sabbia del mare.9E salirono sulla superficie della terra e assediarono il campo dei santi e la città diletta; ma un fuoco dal cielo discese e le divorò.10E il diavolo, che le aveva sedotte, fu gettato nello stagno di fuoco e di zolfo, dove sono anche la bestia e il falso profeta; e saranno tormentati giorno e notte, nei secoli dei secoli.
Il giudizio finale
11Poi vidi un grande trono bianco e colui che vi sedeva sopra. La terra e il cielo fuggirono dalla sua presenza e non ci fu più posto per loro.12E vidi i morti, grandi e piccoli, in piedi davanti al trono. I libri furono aperti, e fu aperto anche un altro libro, che è il libro della vita; e i morti furono giudicati dalle cose scritte nei libri, secondo le loro opere.13Il mare restituì i morti che erano in esso; la morte e l’Ades restituirono i loro morti; ed essi furono giudicati, ciascuno secondo le sue opere.14Poi la morte e l’Ades furono gettati nello stagno di fuoco. Questa è la morte seconda, cioè lo stagno di fuoco.15E se qualcuno non fu trovato scritto nel libro della vita, fu gettato nello stagno di fuoco.
