Die Schalen mit dem Zorn Gottes

1 Jetzt hörte ich, wie eine gewaltige Stimme aus dem Tempel den sieben Engeln zurief: »Geht und gießt die sieben Schalen mit Gottes Zorn über die Erde aus.« 2 Da ging der erste Engel und goss seine Schale auf die Erde. Sofort bildeten sich bösartige und schmerzhafte Geschwüre bei allen Menschen, die das Zeichen des Tieres trugen und seine Statue anbeteten. 3 Der zweite Engel goss seine Schale in das Meer. Da wurde das Wasser zu Blut. Es war verklumpt und dick wie das Blut von einem Toten. Und alle Lebewesen im Meer verendeten. 4 Der dritte Engel goss seine Schale über die Flüsse und Quellen. Alles wurde zu Blut. 5 Dabei hörte ich, wie der Engel, der über das Wasser herrscht, sagte: »Du hast dein Urteil gesprochen, du heiliger Gott, der du bist und immer warst. Du bist ein gerechter Richter. 6 Sie haben alle getötet, die zu dir gehören, und sie haben das Blut deiner Propheten vergossen. Deshalb hast du ihnen Blut zu trinken gegeben. Das haben sie verdient!« 7 Und ich hörte, wie eine Stimme vom Altar her sagte: »Ja, Herr, du allmächtiger Gott! Deine Urteile sind wahr und gerecht.« 8 Dann goss der vierte Engel seine Schale über die Sonne. Von nun an quälte sie die Menschen mit ihrem Feuer. 9 Alle Menschen litten unter der sengenden Glut. Doch keiner kehrte um und erkannte Gott als den Herrn an, dem alle Ehre gebührt. Sie verfluchten vielmehr seinen Namen und lehnten sich weiter gegen ihn auf, der sie mit solch schrecklichen Katastrophen heimsuchte. 10 Der fünfte Engel schüttete seine Schale über dem Thron des Tieres aus. Da versank das Reich des Tieres in tiefste Finsternis. Die Menschen zerbissen sich vor Schmerzen die Zunge. 11 Aber auch jetzt bereuten sie nichts und kehrten nicht um, sondern verfluchten den Gott des Himmels, weil sie solche Schmerzen und qualvollen Geschwüre ertragen mussten. 12 Der sechste Engel goss seine Schale in den großen Fluss, den Euphrat. Der Fluss trocknete aus, so dass die Könige aus dem Osten ungehindert mit ihren Armeen in das Land eindringen konnten. 13 Ich sah, wie aus dem Maul des Drachen, des Tieres und des falschen Propheten drei Dämonen hervorkamen, die wie Frösche aussahen. 14 Es sind böse Geister, die Wunder vollbringen. Sie schwärmen aus zu den Herrschern dieser Erde, um sie zum Kampf zu vereinen – dem Kampf der Entscheidung, wenn der große Tag des allmächtigen Gottes kommt. 15 »Doch vergiss nicht«, sagt Christus, »ich komme plötzlich und unerwartet wie ein Dieb! Nur wer wach bleibt und bereit ist, darf sich an diesem Tag glücklich schätzen. Nur wer seine Kleider griffbereit hat, muss dann nicht nackt umherlaufen und sich schämen.« 16 Die dämonischen Geister versammelten die Herrscher dieser Welt und ihre Heere an dem Ort, der auf Hebräisch »Harmagedon« heißt. 17 Der siebte Engel schüttete seine Schale in die Luft. Da erklang vom Thron des Tempels im Himmel eine gewaltige Stimme: »Jetzt ist alles ausgeführt!« 18 Blitze zuckten, der Donner krachte, und gewaltige Stimmen dröhnten. Die Erde bebte so heftig wie noch nie seit Menschengedenken. 19 Die große Stadt Babylon zerbrach in drei Teile, und die Städte der Welt sanken in Trümmer. Gott hatte Babylon und ihre Sünden nicht vergessen. Nun musste sie den Kelch, der mit Gottes furchtbarem Zorn gefüllt ist, bis zur bitteren Neige leeren. 20 Die Inseln versanken, und die Berge stürzten in sich zusammen. 21 Riesige zentnerschwere Hagelbrocken fielen vom Himmel auf die Menschen. Sie verfluchten Gott wegen dieser furchtbaren Katastrophe.

The Seven Bowls of God’s Wrath

1 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple telling the seven angels, “Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.” (Ps 79,6; Jer 10,25; Zef 3,8; Offb 15,1; Offb 15,7)

2 So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth, and harmful and painful sores came upon the people who bore the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. 8 The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was allowed to scorch people with fire. (Offb 9,17; Offb 14,18) 9 They were scorched by the fierce heat, and they cursed^[2] the name of God who had power over these plagues. They did not repent and give him glory. 10 The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. The Seventh Bowl

17 The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple, from the throne, saying, “It is done!” (Eph 2,2; Offb 10,6) 18 And there were flashes of lightning, rumblings,^[3] peals of thunder, and a great earthquake such as there had never been since man was on the earth, so great was that earthquake. Las siete copas de la ira

1 Y oí una gran voz procedente del santuario, que decía a los siete ángeles: ¡Id y derramad sobre la tierra las siete copas de la ira de Dios! 2 Salió el primero, y derramó su copa sobre la tierra, y sobrevino una úlcera maligna y pestilente sobre los hombres que tienen la marca de la bestia y que adoran su imagen. 3 El segundo derramó su copa sobre el mar, el cual se convirtió en sangre como de muerto, y murió todo ser vivo de los que están en el mar. 4 El tercero derramó su copa en los ríos y las fuentes de aguas, y se convirtió en sangre. 5 Y oí al ángel de las aguas decir: ¡Justo eres, oh Santo, que eres y has sido, por cuanto juzgaste estas cosas! 6 Porque ellos derramaron sangre de santos y profetas, también Tú les has dado a beber sangre: ¡lo merecen! 7 Y oí al altar que decía: ¡Sí, Señor Dios Todopoderoso: justos y verdaderos son tus juicios! 8 El cuarto derramó su copa sobre el sol, y le fue dado quemar a los hombres con fuego. 9 Y los hombres se abrasaron con el intenso calor, y blasfemaron el nombre de Dios, que tiene el poder sobre estas plagas, y no se arrepintieron para darle gloria. 10 El quinto derramó su copa sobre el trono de la bestia, y su reino fue entenebrecido, y se mordían de dolor la lengua; 11 y blasfemaron al Dios del cielo por sus dolores y por sus llagas, y no se arrepintieron de sus obras.

Armagedón

12 El sexto derramó su copa sobre el gran río Éufrates, y se secó su agua, para que se preparara el camino de los reyes que vienen del oriente. 13 Y vi salir de la boca del dragón, y de la boca de la bestia, y de la boca del falso profeta, tres espíritus inmundos como ranas: 14 Son espíritus de demonios que hacen señales prodigiosas, los cuales van a los reyes de toda la tierra habitada, a fin de reunirlos para la batalla del gran día del Dios Todopoderoso. 15 (He aquí vengo como ladrón. Bienaventurado el que vela y guarda sus ropas, no sea que ande desnudo y vean su vergüenza.) 16 Y los reunió en el lugar que en hebreo se llama Armagedón. 17 Y el séptimo derramó su copa en el aire, y salió una gran voz del santuario, desde el trono, diciendo: ¡Hecho está! 18 Y hubo relámpagos y voces y truenos, y se produjo un gran sismo: un terremoto tan grande y terrible cual no lo hubo desde que existe hombre sobre la tierra. 19 Y la gran ciudad se dividió en tres partes, y las ciudades de las naciones cayeron; y la gran Babilonia vino en memoria delante de Dios, para que se le diera el cáliz del vino de su ira. 20 Y huyó toda isla, y las montañas no fueron halladas. 21 Y cayó del cielo sobre los hombres un enorme granizo, como del peso de un talento; y los hombres blasfemaron contra Dios por la plaga del granizo, porque la plaga de éste era sobremanera grande.

1 Allora udii dal tempio una gran voce che diceva ai sette angeli: «Andate e versate sulla terra le sette coppe dell’ira di Dio». 2 Il primo andò e versò la sua coppa sulla terra; e un’ulcera maligna e dolorosa colpì gli uomini che avevano il marchio della bestia e che adoravano la sua immagine. 3 Poi il secondo angelo versò la sua coppa nel mare; esso divenne sangue simile a quello di un morto, e ogni essere vivente che si trovava nel mare morì. 4 Poi il terzo angelo versò la sua coppa nei fiumi e nelle sorgenti delle acque; e diventarono sangue. 5 Udii l’angelo delle acque che diceva: «Sei giusto, tu che sei e che eri, tu, il Santo, per aver così giudicato. 6 Essi infatti hanno versato il sangue dei santi e dei profeti, e tu hai dato loro sangue da bere; è quello che meritano». 7 E udii l’altare che diceva: «Sì, o Signore, Dio onnipotente, veritieri e giusti sono i tuoi giudizi». 8 Poi il quarto angelo versò la sua coppa sul sole e al sole fu concesso di bruciare gli uomini con il fuoco. 9 E gli uomini furono bruciati dal gran calore; e bestemmiarono il nome di Dio che ha il potere su questi flagelli, e non si ravvidero per dargli gloria. 10 Poi il quinto angelo versò la sua coppa sul trono della bestia. Il suo regno fu avvolto dalle tenebre. Gli uomini si mordevano la lingua per il dolore, 11 e bestemmiarono il Dio del cielo a causa dei loro dolori e delle loro ulcere, ma non si ravvidero dalle loro opere. 12 Poi il sesto angelo versò la sua coppa sul gran fiume Eufrate, e le sue acque si prosciugarono perché fosse preparata la via ai re che vengono dall’Oriente. 13 E vidi uscire dalla bocca del dragone, da quella della bestia e da quella del falso profeta tre spiriti immondi, simili a rane. 14 Essi sono spiriti di demòni capaci di compiere dei segni miracolosi. Essi vanno dai re del mondo intero per radunarli per la battaglia del gran giorno del Dio onnipotente. 15 (Ecco, io vengo come un ladro; beato chi veglia e custodisce le sue vesti perché non cammini nudo e non si veda la sua vergogna). 16 E radunarono i re nel luogo che in ebraico si chiama Harmaghedon^[1]. 17 Poi il settimo angelo versò la sua coppa nell’aria; e dal tempio uscì una gran voce proveniente dal trono, che diceva: «È fatto». 18 E ci furono lampi, voci, tuoni e un terremoto così forte che da quando l’uomo è sulla terra non se n’è avuto uno altrettanto disastroso. 19 La grande città si divise in tre parti e le città delle nazioni crollarono, e Dio si ricordò di Babilonia la grande per darle la coppa del vino della sua ira ardente. 20 Ogni isola scomparve e i monti non furono più trovati. 21 E cadde dal cielo sugli uomini una grandine enorme, con chicchi del peso di circa un talento; gli uomini bestemmiarono Dio a causa della grandine, perché era un terribile flagello.
