1 Een bedevaartslied. Ik zit zo diep in de put, HERE, en ik roep naar U. 2 Luister naar mij, Here. Laten uw oren naar mij luisteren. 3 HERE, als U al onze zonden blijft onthouden, kunnen wij immers niet blijven leven? 4 Maar ik weet dat U vergeeft, zodat iedereen ontzag voor U zal hebben. 5 Ik verwacht alles van de HERE. Ik ken zijn woord en heb er alle vertrouwen in. 6 Ik zie uit naar de Here. Ik zie naar Hem uit met nog meer verlangen dan de nachtwachter uitkijkt naar de nieuwe morgen. 7 Laten de Israëlieten al hun vertrouwen op de HERE stellen, want de HERE is rijk aan goedheid en liefde. Hij zorgt voor de bevrijding. 8 Hij zal het volk Israël bevrijden van al zijn zonden.

Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleas for mercy! (2 Kron 6:40; Ps 86:6; Ps 140:6) 3 If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? (Job 10:14; Ps 76:7; Ps 90:8; Ps 143:2; Am 2:15; Nah 1:6; Mal 3:2; Ef 6:13; Op 6:17) 4 But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared.
