meine Burg, ich werde niemals wanken.4Wie lange stürmt ihr heran gegen einen Einzelnen, /
ihr alle, um ihn zu morden,
wie gegen eine Wand, die sich neigt, eine Mauer, die einstürzt?5Ja, sie planen, ihn von seiner Höhe zu stürzen;
Lügen ist ihre Lust.
Mit dem Mund segnen sie,
in ihrem Inneren aber verfluchen sie. [Sela] (Ps 28,3)6Bei Gott allein werde ruhig meine Seele,
denn von ihm kommt meine Hoffnung. (Ps 42,6; Mi 7,7)7Er allein ist mein Fels und meine Rettung,
meine Burg, ich werde nicht wanken.8Bei Gott ist meine Rettung und meine Ehre,
mein starker Fels, in Gott ist meine Zuflucht. (Ps 3,4; Ps 92,16)9Vertraut ihm, Volk, zu jeder Zeit! /
Schüttet euer Herz vor ihm aus!
Denn Gott ist unsere Zuflucht. [Sela] (Jes 26,4)10Nur Windhauch sind die Menschen,
nur Trug die Menschenkinder.
Sie schnellen empor auf der Waage,
leichter als Windhauch sind sie alle. (Ps 39,6; Jes 40,15)11Vertraut nicht auf Unterdrückung,
verlasst euch nicht auf Raub!
Wenn der Reichtum wächst,
verliert nicht euer Herz an ihn! (Mt 19,22; Lk 12,15; 1Tim 6,17)12Eines hat Gott gesprochen,
zweierlei hab ich gehört:
Ja, die Macht ist bei Gott (Hi 40,5)13und bei dir, mein Herr, ist die Huld.
Denn du wirst vergelten
einem jeden nach seinem Tun. (2Sam 3,39; Hi 34,11; Ps 28,4; Ps 31,24; Ps 91,8; Ps 94,2; Jer 50,29; Kla 3,64; Röm 2,6; 2Tim 4,14)

1It is surely true that I find my rest in God. He is the God who saves me.2It is surely true that he is my rock. He is the God who saves me. He is like a fort to me. I will always be secure.3How long will you enemies attack me? Will all of you throw me down? I’m like a leaning wall. I’m like a fence about to fall.4Surely my enemies only want to pull me down from my place of honour. They take delight in telling lies. They bless me with what they say. But in their hearts they ask for bad things to happen to me.5Yes, I must find my rest in God. He is the God who gives me hope.6It is surely true that he is my rock and the God who saves me. He is like a fort to me, so I will always be secure.7I depend on God to save me and to honour me. He is my mighty rock and my place of safety.8Trust in him at all times, you people. Tell him all your troubles. God is our place of safety.9Surely ordinary people are only a breath. Important people are not what they seem to be. If they were weighed on a scale, they wouldn’t amount to anything. Together they are only a breath.10Don’t trust in money you have taken from others. Don’t put false hope in things you have stolen. Even if your riches grow, don’t put your trust in them.11God, I have heard you say two things. One is that power belongs to you, God.12The other is that your love, Lord, never ends. You will reward everyone in keeping with what they have done.
