Der rechte Gottesdienst

1 Ein Psalm Asafs. Gott, ja Gott, der HERR, hat gesprochen, / er rief die Erde vom Aufgang der Sonne bis zu ihrem Untergang. (5Mo 10,17) 2 Vom Zion her, der Krone der Schönheit, ging Gott auf in strahlendem Glanz. (Ps 48,3) 3 Unser Gott möge kommen und nicht schweigen; Feuer frisst vor ihm her; um ihn stürmt es gewaltig. (Ps 97,3; Jes 63,19; Dan 7,10) 4 Dem Himmel droben und der Erde ruft er zu, um sein Volk zu richten: (5Mo 32,1; Jes 1,2) 5 Versammelt mir all meine Frommen, die den Bund mit mir schließen beim Opfer! (2Mo 24,4) 6 Da taten die Himmel seine Gerechtigkeit kund; weil Gott selbst der Richter ist. [Sela] (Ps 19,2; Ps 97,6) 7 Höre, mein Volk, ich rede. / Israel, ich bin gegen dich Zeuge, Gott, dein Gott bin ich. (2Mo 20,2; Ps 40,7) 8 Nicht wegen deiner Opfer rüge ich dich, deine Brandopfer sind mir immer vor Augen. 9 Aus deinem Haus nehme ich keinen Stier an, keine Böcke aus deinen Hürden. 10 Denn mir gehört alles Wild des Waldes, das Vieh auf den Bergen zu Tausenden. 11 Ich kenne alle Vögel der Berge, was sich regt auf dem Feld, ist mein Eigen.^[1] 12 Hätte ich Hunger, ich brauchte es dir nicht zu sagen, denn mein ist der Erdkreis und seine ganze Fülle. (Ps 24,1) 13 Soll ich denn das Fleisch von Stieren essen und das Blut von Böcken trinken? 14 Bring Gott ein Opfer des Dankes und erfülle dem Höchsten deine Gelübde! (Ps 66,13; Ps 119,108; Hebr 13,15) 15 Ruf mich am Tage der Not; dann rette ich dich und du wirst mich ehren. (Ps 91,15) 16 Zum Frevler aber spricht Gott: / Was zählst du meine Gebote auf und führst meinen Bund in deinem Mund? (Röm 2,17) 17 Dabei war Zucht dir verhasst, meine Worte warfst du hinter dich. 18 Sahst du einen Dieb, hattest du an ihm Gefallen, mit Ehebrechern hattest du Gemeinschaft. 19 Dein Mund redete böse Worte und mit Betrug verbindet sich deine Zunge. 20 Du setzt dich hin und redest gegen deinen Bruder, auf den Sohn deiner Mutter häufst du Verleumdung. 21 Das hast du getan und ich soll schweigen? / Meinst du, ich bin wie du? Ich halte es dir vor Augen und rüge dich. 22 Ihr, die ihr Gott vergesst, begreift es doch! Sonst zerreiße ich euch und niemand kann euch retten. 23 Wer Opfer des Dankes bringt, ehrt mich; wer den rechten Weg beachtet, den lasse ich das Heil Gottes schauen. (Ps 50,14; Ps 91,16)

1 The Mighty One, God, the LORD, speaks. He calls out to the earth from the sunrise in the east to the sunset in the west. 2 From Zion, perfect and beautiful, God’s glory shines out. 3 Our God comes, and he won’t be silent. A burning fire goes ahead of him. A terrible storm is all around him. 4 He calls out to heaven and earth to be his witnesses. Then he judges his people. 5 He says, ‘Gather this holy people around me. They made a covenant with me by offering a sacrifice.’ 6 The heavens announce that what God decides is right. That’s because he is a God of justice. 7 God says, ‘Listen, my people, and I will speak. I will be a witness against you, Israel. I am God, your God. 8 I don’t bring charges against you because of your sacrifices. I don’t bring charges because of the burnt offerings you always bring me. 9 I don’t need a bull from your barn. I don’t need goats from your pens. 10 Every animal in the forest already belongs to me. And so do the cattle on a thousand hills. 11 I own every bird in the mountains. The insects in the fields belong to me. 12 If I were hungry, I wouldn’t tell you. The world belongs to me. And so does everything in it. 13 Do I eat the meat of bulls? Do I drink the blood of goats? 14 Bring me thank-offerings, because I am your God. Carry out the promises you made to me, because I am the Most High God. 15 Call out to me when trouble comes. I will save you. And you will honour me.’ 16 But here is what God says to a sinful person. ‘What right do you have to speak the words of my laws? How dare you speak the words of my covenant! 17 You hate my teaching. You turn your back on what I say. 18 When you see a thief, you join him. You make friends with those who commit adultery. 19 You use your mouth to speak evil. You use your tongue to spread lies. 20 You are a witness against your brother. You always tell lies about your own mother’s son. 21 When you did these things, I kept silent. So you thought I was just like you. But now I’m going to bring you to court. I will bring charges against you. 22 ‘You who forget God, think about this. If you don’t, I will tear you to pieces. No one will be able to save you. 23 People who sacrifice thank-offerings to me honour me. To those who are without blame I will show my power to save.’
