1Und Jesus stieg ins Boot, fuhr über den See und kam in seine Stadt. (Mk 2,1; Lk 5,17)2Und siehe, man brachte einen Gelähmten auf seinem Bett zu ihm. Als Jesus ihren Glauben sah, sagte er zu dem Gelähmten: Hab Vertrauen, mein Sohn, deine Sünden sind dir vergeben! (Lk 7,48)3Und siehe, einige Schriftgelehrte dachten: Er lästert Gott.4Jesus wusste, was sie dachten, und sagte: Warum denkt ihr Böses in euren Herzen?5Was ist denn leichter, zu sagen: Deine Sünden sind dir vergeben! oder zu sagen: Steh auf und geh umher?6Damit ihr aber erkennt, dass der Menschensohn die Vollmacht hat, auf der Erde Sünden zu vergeben – sagte er zu dem Gelähmten: Steh auf, nimm dein Bett und geh in dein Haus!7Und der Mann stand auf und ging in sein Haus.8Als die Leute das sahen, erschraken sie und priesen Gott, der solche Vollmacht den Menschen gegeben hat.
Nachfolge und Mahl
9Als Jesus weiterging, sah er einen Mann namens Matthäus am Zoll sitzen und sagte zu ihm: Folge mir nach! Und Matthäus stand auf und folgte ihm nach. (Mt 8,22; Mk 2,13; Lk 5,27)10Und als Jesus in seinem Haus bei Tisch war, siehe, viele Zöllner und Sünder kamen und aßen zusammen mit ihm und seinen Jüngern.11Als die Pharisäer das sahen, sagten sie zu seinen Jüngern: Wie kann euer Meister zusammen mit Zöllnern und Sündern essen?12Er hörte es und sagte: Nicht die Gesunden bedürfen des Arztes, sondern die Kranken.13Geht und lernt, was es heißt: Barmherzigkeit will ich, nicht Opfer! Denn ich bin nicht gekommen, um Gerechte zu rufen, sondern Sünder. (Hos 6,6; Mt 12,7)
Fasten und Feiern
14Da kamen die Jünger des Johannes zu ihm und sagten: Warum fasten deine Jünger nicht, während wir und die Pharisäer fasten? (Mk 2,18; Lk 5,33)15Jesus antwortete ihnen: Können denn die Hochzeitsgäste trauern, solange der Bräutigam bei ihnen ist? Es werden aber Tage kommen, da wird ihnen der Bräutigam weggenommen sein; dann werden sie fasten.16Niemand setzt ein Stück neuen Stoff auf ein altes Gewand; denn der neue Stoff reißt doch wieder ab und es entsteht ein noch größerer Riss.17Auch füllt man nicht jungen Wein in alte Schläuche. Sonst reißen die Schläuche, der Wein läuft aus und die Schläuche sind unbrauchbar. Jungen Wein füllt man in neue Schläuche, dann bleibt beides erhalten.
Die Auferweckung der Tochter eines Synagogenvorstehers und die Heilung einer kranken Frau
18Während Jesus so mit ihnen redete, siehe, da kam ein Synagogenvorsteher, fiel vor ihm nieder und sagte: Meine Tochter ist eben gestorben; komm doch, leg ihr deine Hand auf und sie wird leben! (Mk 5,21; Lk 8,40)19Jesus stand auf und folgte ihm mit seinen Jüngern.20Und siehe, eine Frau, die schon zwölf Jahre an Blutfluss litt, trat von hinten heran und berührte den Saum seines Gewandes;21denn sie sagte sich: Wenn ich auch nur sein Gewand berühre, werde ich geheilt. (Mt 14,36; Mk 6,56)22Jesus wandte sich um, und als er sie sah, sagte er: Hab keine Angst, meine Tochter, dein Glaube hat dich gerettet! Und von dieser Stunde an war die Frau geheilt. (Mk 10,52; Lk 7,50; Lk 17,19; Lk 18,42; Apg 14,9)23Als Jesus in das Haus des Synagogenvorstehers kam und die Flötenspieler und die Menge der klagenden Leute sah,24sagte er: Geht hinaus! Das Mädchen ist nicht gestorben, es schläft nur. Da lachten sie ihn aus.25Als man die Leute hinausgeworfen hatte, trat er ein und fasste das Mädchen an der Hand; da stand es auf. (Mk 1,31; Mk 9,27)26Und die Kunde davon verbreitete sich in der ganzen Gegend.
Die Heilung von zwei Blinden
27Als Jesus weiterging, folgten ihm zwei Blinde und schrien: Hab Erbarmen mit uns, Sohn Davids! (Mt 15,22; Mt 20,29; Mk 10,46; Lk 18,35)28Nachdem er ins Haus gegangen war, kamen die Blinden zu ihm. Und Jesus sagte zu ihnen: Glaubt ihr, dass ich dies tun kann? Sie antworteten: Ja, Herr.29Darauf berührte er ihre Augen und sagte: Wie ihr geglaubt habt, so soll euch geschehen.30Da wurden ihre Augen geöffnet. Jesus aber wies sie streng an: Nehmt euch in Acht! Niemand darf es erfahren.31Doch sie gingen weg und erzählten von ihm in der ganzen Gegend.
Die Heilung eines Stummen
32Als sie gegangen waren, siehe, da brachte man einen Stummen zu ihm, der von einem Dämon besessen war. (Mt 12,22; Lk 11,14)33Er trieb den Dämon aus und der Stumme konnte reden. Alle Leute staunten und sagten: So etwas ist in Israel noch nie gesehen worden.34Die Pharisäer aber sagten: Mit Hilfe des Anführers der Dämonen treibt er die Dämonen aus.
Über die große Ernte und die wenigen Arbeiter
35Jesus zog durch alle Städte und Dörfer, lehrte in ihren Synagogen, verkündete das Evangelium vom Reich und heilte alle Krankheiten und Leiden. (Mt 4,23; Mk 6,6; Lk 8,1)36Als er die vielen Menschen sah, hatte er Mitleid mit ihnen; denn sie waren müde und erschöpft wie Schafe, die keinen Hirten haben. (4Mo 27,17; 1Kön 22,17; Hes 34,5; Mt 14,14; Mt 15,32; Mk 6,34)37Da sagte er zu seinen Jüngern: Die Ernte ist groß, aber es gibt nur wenig Arbeiter. (Lk 10,2)38Bittet also den Herrn der Ernte, Arbeiter für seine Ernte auszusenden!
1Jesus stepped into a boat. He went over to the other side of the lake and came to his own town.2Some men brought to him a man who could not walk. He was lying on a mat. Jesus saw that they had faith. So he said to the man, ‘Don’t lose hope, son. Your sins are forgiven.’3Then some teachers of the law said to themselves, ‘This fellow is saying a very evil thing!’4Jesus knew what they were thinking. So he said, ‘Why do you have evil thoughts in your hearts?5Is it easier to say, “Your sins are forgiven”? Or to say, “Get up and walk”?6But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.’ So he spoke to the man who could not walk. ‘Get up’, he said. ‘Take your mat and go home.’7The man got up and went home.8When the crowd saw this, they were filled with wonder. They praised God for giving that kind of authority to a human being.
Jesus chooses Matthew and eats with sinners
9As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew. He was sitting at the tax collector’s booth. ‘Follow me’, Jesus told him. Matthew got up and followed him.10Later Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house. Many tax collectors and sinners came. They ate with Jesus and his disciples.11The Pharisees saw this. So they asked the disciples, ‘Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?’12Jesus heard this. So he said, ‘Those who are healthy don’t need a doctor. Ill people do.13Go and learn what this means, “I want mercy and not sacrifice.” I have not come to get those who think they are right with God to follow me. I have come to get sinners to follow me.’ (Hos 6,6)
Jesus is asked about fasting
14One day John’s disciples came. They said to Jesus, ‘We and the Pharisees often go without eating. Why don’t your disciples go without eating?’15Jesus answered, ‘How can the guests of the groom be sad while he is with them? The time will come when the groom will be taken away from them. Then they will fast.16‘People don’t sew a patch of new cloth on old clothes. The new piece will pull away from the old. That will make the tear worse.17People don’t pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst. The wine will run out, and the wineskins will be destroyed. No, people pour new wine into new wineskins. Then both are saved.’
Jesus heals a dead girl and a suffering woman
18While Jesus was saying this, a synagogue leader came. He got down on his knees in front of Jesus. He said, ‘My daughter has just died. But come and place your hand on her. Then she will live again.’19Jesus got up and went with him. So did his disciples.20Just then a woman came up behind Jesus. She had an illness that made her bleed. It had lasted for 12 years. She touched the edge of his clothes.21She thought, ‘I only need to touch his clothes. Then I will be healed.’22Jesus turned and saw her. ‘Dear woman, don’t give up hope,’ he said. ‘Your faith has healed you.’ The woman was healed at that moment.23When Jesus entered the synagogue leader’s house, he saw the noisy crowd and people playing flutes.24He said, ‘Go away. The girl is not dead. She is sleeping.’ But they laughed at him.25After the crowd had been sent outside, Jesus went in. He took the girl by the hand, and she got up.26News about what Jesus had done spread all over that area.
Jesus heals two blind men
27As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him. They called out, ‘Have mercy on us, Son of David!’28When Jesus went indoors, the blind men came to him. He asked them, ‘Do you believe that I can do this?’ ‘Yes, Lord,’ they replied.29Then he touched their eyes. He said, ‘It will happen to you just as you believed.’30They could now see again. Jesus strongly warned them, ‘Be sure that no one knows about this.’31But they went out and spread the news. They talked about him all over that area.32While they were going out, another man was brought to Jesus. A demon controlled him, and he could not speak.33When the demon was driven out, the man spoke. The crowd was amazed. They said, ‘Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.’34But the Pharisees said, ‘He drives out demons by the power of the prince of demons.’
There are only a few workers
35Jesus went through all the towns and villages. He taught in their synagogues. He preached the good news of the kingdom. And he healed every illness and disease.36When he saw the crowds, he felt deep concern for them. They were treated badly and were helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.37Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is huge. But there are only a few workers.38So ask the Lord of the harvest to send workers out into his harvest field.’
