1Und es geschah, als Jesus diese Reden beendet hatte, verließ er Galiläa und zog in das Gebiet von Judäa jenseits des Jordan. (Mk 10,1)2Viele Menschen folgten ihm nach und er heilte sie dort.
Über die Ehe, Ehescheidung und Ehelosigkeit
3Da kamen Pharisäer zu ihm, um ihn zu versuchen, und fragten: Darf man seine Frau aus jedem beliebigen Grund aus der Ehe entlassen? (Mt 16,1; Mt 22,18; Mk 10,2)4Er antwortete: Habt ihr nicht gelesen, dass der Schöpfer sie am Anfang männlich und weiblich erschaffen hat (1Mo 1,27)5und dass er gesagt hat: Darum wird der Mann Vater und Mutter verlassen und sich an seine Frau binden und die zwei werden ein Fleisch sein? (1Mo 2,24)6Sie sind also nicht mehr zwei, sondern ein Fleisch. Was aber Gott verbunden hat, das darf der Mensch nicht trennen.7Sie sagten zu ihm: Wozu hat dann Mose vorgeschrieben, der Frau eine Scheidungsurkunde zu geben und sie aus der Ehe zu entlassen? (5Mo 24,1; Mt 5,31)8Er antwortete: Nur weil ihr so hartherzig seid, hat Mose euch gestattet, eure Frauen aus der Ehe zu entlassen. Am Anfang war das nicht so.9Ich sage euch: Wer seine Frau entlässt, obwohl kein Fall von Unzucht vorliegt, und eine andere heiratet, der begeht Ehebruch. (Mt 5,32; Lk 16,18)10Da sagten seine Jünger zu ihm: Wenn das Verhältnis des Mannes zur Frau so ist, dann ist es nicht gut zu heiraten.11Jesus sagte zu ihnen: Nicht alle können dieses Wort erfassen, sondern nur die, denen es gegeben ist.12Denn manche sind von Geburt an zur Ehe unfähig, manche sind von den Menschen dazu gemacht und manche haben sich selbst dazu gemacht - um des Himmelreiches willen. Wer es erfassen kann, der erfasse es.
Die Segnung der Kinder
13Da brachte man Kinder zu ihm, damit er ihnen die Hände auflegte und für sie betete. Die Jünger aber wiesen die Leute zurecht. (Mk 10,13; Lk 18,15)14Doch Jesus sagte: Lasst die Kinder und hindert sie nicht, zu mir zu kommen! Denn Menschen wie ihnen gehört das Himmelreich. (Mt 18,3)15Dann legte er ihnen die Hände auf und zog von dort weiter.
Reichtum und Nachfolge
16Und siehe, da kam ein Mann zu Jesus und fragte: Meister, was muss ich Gutes tun, um das ewige Leben zu gewinnen? (Mk 10,17; Lk 18,18)17Er antwortete: Was fragst du mich nach dem Guten? Nur einer ist der Gute. Wenn du aber in das Leben eintreten willst, halte die Gebote!18Darauf fragte er ihn: Welche? Jesus antwortete: Du sollst nicht töten, du sollst nicht die Ehe brechen, du sollst nicht stehlen, du sollst kein falsches Zeugnis geben; (2Mo 20,12; 3Mo 19,18; 5Mo 5,16)19ehre Vater und Mutter! Und: Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben wie dich selbst!20Der junge Mann erwiderte ihm: Alle diese Gebote habe ich befolgt. Was fehlt mir noch?21Jesus antwortete ihm: Wenn du vollkommen sein willst, geh, verkauf deinen Besitz und gib ihn den Armen; und du wirst einen Schatz im Himmel haben; und komm, folge mir nach! (Mt 6,20; Mt 8,22)22Als der junge Mann das hörte, ging er traurig weg; denn er hatte ein großes Vermögen.23Da sagte Jesus zu seinen Jüngern: Amen, ich sage euch: Ein Reicher wird schwer in das Himmelreich kommen.24Nochmals sage ich euch: Leichter geht ein Kamel durch ein Nadelöhr, als dass ein Reicher in das Reich Gottes gelangt.25Als die Jünger das hörten, gerieten sie ganz außer sich vor Schrecken und sagten: Wer kann dann noch gerettet werden?26Jesus sah sie an und sagte zu ihnen: Für Menschen ist das unmöglich, für Gott aber ist alles möglich. (1Mo 18,14; Hi 42,2; Lk 1,37)27Da antwortete Petrus: Siehe, wir haben alles verlassen und sind dir nachgefolgt. Was werden wir dafür bekommen?28Jesus erwiderte ihnen: Amen, ich sage euch: Wenn die Welt neu geschaffen wird und der Menschensohn sich auf den Thron der Herrlichkeit setzt, werdet auch ihr, die ihr mir nachgefolgt seid, auf zwölf Thronen sitzen und die zwölf Stämme Israels richten. (Mt 25,31; Lk 22,30; Offb 3,21)29Und jeder, der um meines Namens willen Häuser oder Brüder oder Schwestern oder Vater oder Mutter oder Kinder oder Äcker verlassen hat, wird dafür das Hundertfache erhalten und das ewige Leben erben.30Viele Erste werden Letzte sein und Letzte Erste. (Mt 20,16; Mk 10,31; Lk 13,30)
1When Jesus finished saying these things, he left Galilee. He went into the area of Judea on the other side of the River Jordan.2Large crowds followed him. He healed them there.3Some Pharisees came to test Jesus. They asked, ‘Does the Law allow a man to divorce his wife for any reason at all?’4Jesus replied, ‘Haven’t you read that in the beginning the Creator “made them male and female”? (1Mo 1,27)5He said, “That’s why a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife. The two will become one.” (1Mo 2,24)6They are no longer two, but one. So no one should separate what God has joined together.’7They asked, ‘Then why did Moses command that a man can give his wife a letter of divorce and send her away?’8Jesus replied, ‘Moses let you divorce your wives because you were stubborn. But it was not this way from the beginning.9Here is what I tell you. Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery. A man may divorce his wife only if she has not been faithful to him.’10Here is what the disciples said to him. ‘If that’s the way it is between a husband and wife, it is better not to get married.’11Jesus replied, ‘Not everyone can accept the idea of staying single. Only those who have been helped to live without getting married can accept it.12Some men are not able to have children because they were born that way. Some have been made that way by other people. Others have chosen to live that way in order to serve the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.’
Little children are brought to Jesus
13Some people brought little children to Jesus. They wanted him to place his hands on the children and pray for them. But the disciples told them not to do it.14Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me. Don’t keep them away. The kingdom of heaven belongs to people like them.’15Jesus placed his hands on them to bless them. Then he went on from there.
Rich people and the kingdom of God
16Just then, a man came up to Jesus. He asked, ‘Teacher, what good thing must I do to receive eternal life?’17‘Why do you ask me about what is good?’ Jesus replied. ‘There is only one who is good. If you want to enter the kingdom, obey the commandments.’18‘Which ones?’ the man asked. Jesus said, ‘ “Do not murder. Do not commit adultery. Do not steal. Do not be a false witness.19Honour your father and mother.” And “love your neighbour as you love yourself.” ’ (2Mo 20,12; 3Mo 19,18; 5Mo 5,16)20‘I have obeyed all those commandments,’ the young man said. ‘What else do I need to do?’21Jesus answered, ‘If you want to be perfect, go and sell everything you have. Give the money to those who are poor. You will have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me.’22When the young man heard this, he went away sad. He was very rich.23Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘What I’m about to tell you is true. It is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven.24Again I tell you, it is hard for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. But it is even harder for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.’25When the disciples heard this, they were really amazed. They asked, ‘Then who can be saved?’26Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With people, this is impossible. But with God, all things are possible.’27Peter answered him, ‘We have left everything to follow you! What reward will be given to us?’28‘What I’m about to tell you is true,’ Jesus said to them. ‘When all things are made new, the Son of Man will sit on his glorious throne. Then you who have followed me will also sit on 12 thrones. You will judge the 12 tribes of Israel.29Suppose anyone has left houses, brothers or sisters, father or mother, husband or wife, children or fields because of me. Anyone who has done that will receive 100 times as much. They will also receive eternal life.30But many who are first will be last. And many who are last will be first.
