Ein Psalm Asafs. Ein Lied.2Wir haben dir gedankt, Gott, wir haben gedankt,
nahe ist dein Name denen, die von deinen Wundern erzählten.3Ja, zu der Zeit, die ich selbst bestimme,
richte ich in Geradheit.4Mag wanken die Erde mit all ihren Bewohnern,
ich selber habe ihre Säulen fest gegründet. [Sela] (1Sam 2,8; Ps 24,2; Ps 104,5)5Ich sagte den Vermessenen: Seid nicht vermessen!
und den Frevlern: Erhebt das Haupt nicht im Übermut! (1Sam 2,3)6Erhebt nicht so hoch euer Haupt!
Redet nicht mit stolz gerecktem Nacken! (Ps 94,4)7Denn weder vom Osten noch vom Westen
noch von der Wüste kommt Erhöhung.[1] (Jer 3,23; Mt 24,23)8Nein, Gott ist der Richter;
den einen erniedrigt, den andern erhöht er. (1Sam 2,7; Dan 2,21)9Ja, in der Hand des HERRN ist ein Becher,
gefüllt mit gärendem, gewürztem Wein.
Er schenkt davon ein, bis zur Hefe müssen ihn schlürfen,
müssen ihn trinken alle Frevler der Erde. (Hi 21,20; Ps 60,5; Jer 25,15; Hab 2,16)10Ich aber werde verkünden auf ewig,
singen und spielen will ich dem Gott Jakobs.11Alle Macht der Frevler breche ich,
doch wachsen wird die Macht des Gerechten.

Dio, giudice sovrano
1Al direttore del coro. «Non distruggere». Salmo di Asaf. Canto. Noi ti lodiamo, o Dio, ti lodiamo; quelli che invocano il tuo nome proclamano le tue meraviglie.2Quando verrà il tempo che avrò fissato, io giudicherò con giustizia.3Si agiti la terra con tutti i suoi abitanti, io ne rendo stabili le colonne. [Pausa]4Io dico agli orgogliosi: «Non siate superbi!» E agli empi: «Non alzate la testa!5Non alzate la vostra testa contro il cielo, non parlate con il collo rigido!»6Poiché non è dall’oriente né dall’occidente, né dal mezzogiorno che viene la possibilità d’innalzarsi,7ma è Dio che giudica; egli abbassa l’uno e innalza l’altro.8Il Signore ha in mano una coppa di vino spumeggiante, pieno di mistura. Egli ne versa; certo tutti gli empi della terra ne dovranno sorseggiare, ne berranno fino alla feccia.9Ma io racconterò sempre queste cose, salmeggerò al Dio di Giacobbe.10Stroncherò la potenza degli empi, ma la potenza dei giusti sarà accresciuta.
