1 Für den Chormeister. Mit Saitenspiel. Ein Weisheitslied Davids. 2 Als die Sifiter kamen und Saul meldeten: David hält sich bei uns verborgen. (1Sam 23,19; 1Sam 26,1) 3 Gott, durch deinen Namen rette mich, verschaff mir Recht mit deiner Kraft! 4 Gott, höre mein Bittgebet, vernimm die Worte meines Mundes! 5 Denn fremde Menschen standen auf gegen mich, / Gewalttätige trachteten mir nach dem Leben, sie stellten sich Gott nicht vor Augen. [Sela] (Ps 86,14) 6 Siehe, Gott ist mir Helfer, der Herr ist unter denen, die mein Leben stützen. (Ps 118,7) 7 Auf meine Gegner falle das Böse zurück. In deiner Treue vernichte sie! (Ps 143,12) 8 Bereitwillig will ich dir opfern, will deinem Namen danken, HERR, denn er ist gut. The Lord Upholds My Life

1 To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. A Maskil^[1] of David, when the Ziphites went and told Saul, “Is not David hiding among us?” O God, save me by your name, and vindicate me by your might. (1Sam 23,19; 1Sam 26,1; Ps 4,1; Ps 5,11; Ps 52,9)

1 Al direttore del coro. Per strumenti a corda. Cantico di Davide, quando gli Zifei vennero a dire a Saul: «Davide non è forse nascosto tra noi?» O Dio, salvami per amore del tuo nome, e fammi giustizia per la tua potenza. 2 O Dio, ascolta la mia preghiera, porgi orecchio alle parole della mia bocca! 3 Poiché degli stranieri sono insorti contro di me e dei violenti cercano l’anima mia. Essi non tengono Dio presente davanti a loro. [Pausa] 4 Ecco, Dio è il mio aiuto; il Signore è colui che sostiene l’anima mia. 5 Egli farà ricadere il male sui miei nemici. Nella tua fedeltà, distruggili! 6 Con cuore generoso ti offrirò sacrifici; celebrerò il tuo nome, o Signore, perché sei buono; 7 infatti mi hai salvato da ogni disgrazia, e l’occhio mio ha visto sui miei nemici quel che desideravo.
