Psalm 92

English Standard Version

How Great Are Your Works

1 A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath. It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; (Ge 14:19; Ps 71:22; Ps 147:1) 2 to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, (Ps 36:5; Ps 119:147) 3 to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. (Ps 33:2) 4 For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy. (Ps 8:6; Ps 90:16) 5 How great are your works, O Lord! Your thoughts are very deep! (Ps 36:6; Ps 40:5; Ps 111:2; Ps 139:17; Ro 11:33; Re 15:3) 6 The stupid man cannot know; the fool cannot understand this: 7 that though the wicked sprout like grass and all evildoers flourish, they are doomed to destruction forever; (Job 21:7; Ps 94:4; Ps 125:5) 8 but you, O Lord, are on high forever. (Ps 93:4) 9 For behold, your enemies, O Lord, for behold, your enemies shall perish; all evildoers shall be scattered. (Ps 68:1) 10 But you have exalted my horn like that of the wild ox; you have poured over me[1] fresh oil. (Nu 23:22; 1Sa 2:1; Ps 23:5; Ps 75:10) 11 My eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies; my ears have heard the doom of my evil assailants. (Ps 37:34; Ps 54:7) 12 The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. (Nu 24:6; Ps 1:3; Ps 52:8; Ps 72:7; Pr 11:28; Isa 61:3; Ho 14:5) 13 They are planted in the house of the Lord; they flourish in the courts of our God. (Ps 100:4; Ps 116:19; Ps 135:2) 14 They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, 15 to declare that the Lord is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. (Job 34:10; Ps 18:2; Ps 58:11)
