1Wieder sprach der HERR zu Mose: Geh zum Pharao und sag zu ihm: So spricht der HERR, der Gott der Hebräer: Lass mein Volk ziehen, damit sie mir dienen können!2Wenn du dich weigerst, sie ziehen zu lassen, und sie immer noch festhältst,3wird die Hand des HERRN dein Vieh auf dem Feld, die Pferde und Esel, die Kamele und Rinder, die Schafe und Ziegen, überfallen und über sie eine sehr schwere Seuche bringen.4Aber der HERR wird einen Unterschied zwischen dem Vieh Israels und dem Vieh der Ägypter machen; nichts von dem, was den Israeliten gehört, wird eingehen.5Auch den Zeitpunkt hat der HERR schon festgesetzt: Morgen wird der HERR das im Lande tun.6Am folgenden Tag tat es der HERR. Alles Vieh der Ägypter ging ein, vom Vieh der Israeliten aber ging kein einziges Stück ein.7Der Pharao erkundigte sich, und wirklich: Vom Vieh Israels war kein einziges Stück eingegangen. Doch der Pharao verschloss sein Herz und ließ das Volk nicht ziehen.
Siebtes Zeichen – Geschwüre
8Da sprach der HERR zu Mose und Aaron: Holt euch eine Handvoll Ofenruß und Mose soll ihn vor den Augen des Pharao in die Höhe werfen.9Er wird als Staub auf das ganze Land Ägypten niedergehen und an Mensch und Vieh Geschwüre mit aufplatzenden Blasen hervorrufen, im ganzen Land Ägypten.10Sie holten den Ofenruß, traten vor den Pharao und Mose warf ihn in die Höhe. Da bildeten sich an Mensch und Vieh Geschwüre mit aufplatzenden Blasen.11Die Wahrsager konnten wegen der Geschwüre Mose nicht gegenübertreten, sie waren wie alle Ägypter von Geschwüren befallen.12Aber der HERR verhärtete das Herz des Pharao, sodass er nicht auf sie hörte. So hatte es der HERR dem Mose vorausgesagt.
Achtes Zeichen – Hagel
13Darauf sprach der HERR zu Mose: Steh früh am Morgen auf, tritt vor den Pharao hin und sag zu ihm: So spricht der HERR, der Gott der Hebräer: Lass mein Volk ziehen, damit sie mir dienen können!14Denn diesmal will ich alle meine Plagen loslassen auf dich, deine Diener und dein Volk. Daran wirst du erkennen, dass mir keiner im ganzen Land gleichkommt.15Denn schon jetzt hätte ich meine Hand ausstrecken und dich und dein Volk mit der Pest schlagen können und du wärst vom Erdboden verschwunden.16Ich habe dich aber am Leben gelassen, um dir meine Macht zu zeigen und meinen Namen auf der ganzen Erde bekannt zu machen.17Solange du dich über mein Volk anmaßend erhebst und sie nicht ziehen lässt,18lasse ich morgen um diese Zeit ein sehr schweres Hagelwetter niedergehen, wie es in Ägypten seit seiner Gründung bis auf den heutigen Tag noch keines gegeben hat.19Und nun schick Leute aus, bring dein Vieh in Sicherheit und alles, was dir auf dem Feld gehört! Auf alle Menschen und auf das Vieh, das auf dem Feld bleibt und nicht unter Dach gebracht wird, geht der Hagel nieder und erschlägt sie.20Wer sich von den Dienern des Pharao vor der Drohung des HERRN fürchtete, ließ seine Knechte und sein Vieh unter Dach bringen.21Wer aber das Wort des HERRN nicht ernst nahm, ließ seine Knechte und sein Vieh auf dem Feld.22Und der HERR sprach zu Mose: Streck deine Hand zum Himmel empor! Dann wird Hagel auf das ganze Land Ägypten niedergehen, auf Mensch und Vieh und auf alle Feldpflanzen im Land Ägypten.23Mose streckte seinen Stab zum Himmel empor und der HERR ließ es donnern und hageln. Blitze fuhren auf die Erde herab und der HERR ließ Hagel über das Land Ägypten niedergehen.24Schwerer Hagel prasselte herab und in den sehr schweren Hagel hinein zuckten Blitze. Ähnliches hatte es im ganzen Land Ägypten noch nicht gegeben, seit sie ein Volk geworden waren.25Der Hagel erschlug im ganzen Land Ägypten alles, was auf dem Feld war. Menschen, Vieh und alle Feldpflanzen erschlug der Hagel und alle Feldbäume zerbrach er.26Nur im Land Goschen, wo sich die Israeliten aufhielten, hagelte es nicht.27Da ließ der Pharao Mose und Aaron rufen und sagte zu ihnen: Diesmal bekenne ich mich schuldig. Der HERR ist im Recht; ich aber und mein Volk, wir sind im Unrecht.28Betet zum HERRN! Der Donner Gottes und der Hagel, das ist zu viel. Ich will euch jetzt ziehen lassen; ihr müsst nicht länger bleiben.29Mose antwortete ihm: Sobald ich außerhalb der Stadt bin, werde ich meine Hände vor dem HERRN ausbreiten; der Donner wird aufhören und es wird kein Hagel mehr fallen. So wirst du erkennen, dass das Land dem HERRN gehört.30Du und deine Diener aber, das weiß ich, ihr fürchtet euch noch immer nicht vor Gott, dem HERRN.31Der Flachs und die Gerste waren zerschlagen; denn die Gerste hatte gerade Ähren angesetzt und der Flachs stand in Blüte.32Der Weizen und der Spelt wurden nicht zerschlagen, denn sie kommen später heraus.33Mose verließ den Pharao, ging vor die Stadt hinaus und breitete seine Hände vor dem HERRN aus. Da hörte der Donner auf und kein Hagel und kein Regen fiel mehr auf die Erde.34Doch als der Pharao sah, dass Regen, Hagel und Donner aufgehört hatten, blieb er bei seiner Sünde; er und seine Diener verschlossen wieder ihr Herz.35Das Herz des Pharao blieb hart und er ließ die Israeliten nicht ziehen. So hatte es der HERR durch Mose vorausgesagt.
1Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, “Let my people go, that they may serve me. (2Mo 7,16; 2Mo 8,1; 2Mo 8,2)2For if you refuse to let them go and still hold them,3behold, the hand of the LORD will fall with a very severe plague upon your livestock that are in the field, the horses, the donkeys, the camels, the herds, and the flocks. (2Mo 7,4)4But the LORD will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt, so that nothing of all that belongs to the people of Israel shall die.”’” (2Mo 8,22; 2Mo 11,7)5And the LORD set a time, saying, “Tomorrow the LORD will do this thing in the land.”6And the next day the LORD did this thing. All the livestock of the Egyptians died, but not one of the livestock of the people of Israel died. (2Mo 9,19)7And Pharaoh sent, and behold, not one of the livestock of Israel was dead. But the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go. (2Mo 7,14)
The Sixth Plague: Boils
8And the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “Take handfuls of soot from the kiln, and let Moses throw them in the air in the sight of Pharaoh.9It shall become fine dust over all the land of Egypt, and become boils breaking out in sores on man and beast throughout all the land of Egypt.” (3Mo 13,18; 5Mo 28,27; 2Kön 20,7; Hi 2,7; Jes 38,21; Offb 16,2)10So they took soot from the kiln and stood before Pharaoh. And Moses threw it in the air, and it became boils breaking out in sores on man and beast.11And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils, for the boils came upon the magicians and upon all the Egyptians. (2Mo 7,11; 2Tim 3,9)12But the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he did not listen to them, as the LORD had spoken to Moses. (2Mo 4,21)
The Seventh Plague: Hail
13Then the LORD said to Moses, “Rise up early in the morning and present yourself before Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, “Let my people go, that they may serve me. (2Mo 7,15; 2Mo 8,20)14For this time I will send all my plagues on you yourself,[1] and on your servants and your people, so that you may know that there is none like me in all the earth. (2Mo 8,10)15For by now I could have put out my hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, and you would have been cut off from the earth.16But for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth. (Ps 83,18; Spr 16,4; Röm 9,17; Röm 10,1; Röm 10,2; Röm 11,9; Röm 14,17)17You are still exalting yourself against my people and will not let them go. (Neh 9,10)18Behold, about this time tomorrow I will cause very heavy hail to fall, such as never has been in Egypt from the day it was founded until now.19Now therefore send, get your livestock and all that you have in the field into safe shelter, for every man and beast that is in the field and is not brought home will die when the hail falls on them.”’” (2Mo 9,4)20Then whoever feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh hurried his slaves and his livestock into the houses,21but whoever did not pay attention to the word of the LORD left his slaves and his livestock in the field.22Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, so that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, on man and beast and every plant of the field, in the land of Egypt.” (Offb 16,21)23Then Moses stretched out his staff toward heaven, and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and fire ran down to the earth. And the LORD rained hail upon the land of Egypt. (Jos 10,11; 1Sam 12,17; Ps 18,13; Ps 78,47; Ps 78,48; Ps 105,32; Ps 148,8; Jes 30,30; Hes 38,22; Offb 8,7)24There was hail and fire flashing continually in the midst of the hail, very heavy hail, such as had never been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.25The hail struck down everything that was in the field in all the land of Egypt, both man and beast. And the hail struck down every plant of the field and broke every tree of the field. (Ps 78,47; Ps 105,33)26Only in the land of Goshen, where the people of Israel were, was there no hail. (2Mo 8,22; 2Mo 9,4; 2Mo 10,23; 2Mo 11,7; 2Mo 12,13; Jes 32,18)27Then Pharaoh sent and called Moses and Aaron and said to them, “This time I have sinned; the LORD is in the right, and I and my people are in the wrong. (2Mo 10,16; 2Chr 12,6; Ps 129,4; Ps 145,17; Kla 1,18; Dan 9,14)28Plead with the LORD, for there has been enough of God’s thunder and hail. I will let you go, and you shall stay no longer.” (2Mo 8,8)29Moses said to him, “As soon as I have gone out of the city, I will stretch out my hands to the LORD. The thunder will cease, and there will be no more hail, so that you may know that the earth is the LORD’s. (5Mo 10,14; 1Kön 8,22; 1Kön 8,38; Ps 24,1; Ps 143,6; Jes 1,15; 1Kor 10,26)30But as for you and your servants, I know that you do not yet fear the LORD God.” (Jes 26,10)31(The flax and the barley were struck down, for the barley was in the ear and the flax was in bud.32But the wheat and the emmer[2] were not struck down, for they are late in coming up.)33So Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh and stretched out his hands to the LORD, and the thunder and the hail ceased, and the rain no longer poured upon the earth. (2Mo 9,29)34But when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunder had ceased, he sinned yet again and hardened his heart, he and his servants. (2Mo 7,14; 1Sam 6,6)35So the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people of Israel go, just as the LORD had spoken through Moses. (2Mo 4,21)

La mortalità del bestiame
1Allora il Signore disse a Mosè: «Va’ dal faraone e digli: “Così dice il Signore, il Dio degli Ebrei: ‘Lascia andare il mio popolo, perché mi serva.2Se tu rifiuti di lasciarlo andare e lo trattieni ancora,3la mano del Signore sarà sul tuo bestiame che è nei campi, sui cavalli, sugli asini, sui cammelli, sui buoi e sulle pecore; ci sarà una tremenda mortalità.4Però il Signore farà distinzione tra il bestiame d’Israele e il bestiame d’Egitto; nulla morirà di tutto quello che appartiene ai figli d’Israele’”».5Il Signore fissò un termine, dicendo: «Domani il Signore farà questo nel paese».6L’indomani il Signore lo fece e tutto il bestiame d’Egitto morì; ma del bestiame dei figli d’Israele non morì neppure un capo.7Il faraone mandò a vedere, ed ecco che neppure un capo del bestiame degli Israeliti era morto. Ma il cuore del faraone rimase ostinato ed egli non lasciò andare il popolo.
Ulceri sulle persone e sugli animali
8Il Signore disse a Mosè e ad Aaronne: «Prendete delle manciate di fuliggine di fornace e Mosè la getti verso il cielo, sotto gli occhi del faraone.9Essa diventerà una polvere che coprirà tutto il paese d’Egitto e produrrà ulceri che si trasformeranno in pustole sulle persone e sugli animali in tutto il paese d’Egitto».10Essi presero dunque della fuliggine di fornace e si presentarono al faraone; Mosè la gettò verso il cielo ed essa produsse ulceri che si trasformarono in pustole sulle persone e sugli animali.11I maghi non poterono presentarsi davanti a Mosè, a causa delle ulceri, perché le ulceri erano sui maghi come su tutti gli Egiziani.12Ma il Signore indurì il cuore del faraone e questi non diede ascolto a Mosè e ad Aaronne, come il Signore aveva detto a Mosè.
La grandine e il fuoco
13Poi il Signore disse a Mosè: «Àlzati di buon mattino, presentati al faraone e digli: “Così dice il Signore, il Dio degli Ebrei: ‘Lascia andare il mio popolo, perché mi serva;14poiché questa volta manderò tutte le mie piaghe sul tuo cuore, sui tuoi servitori e sul tuo popolo, affinché tu sappia che nessuno è come me su tutta la terra.15Perché se io avessi steso la mia mano e avessi percosso di peste te e il tuo popolo, tu saresti stato sterminato dalla terra.16Invece io ti ho lasciato vivere per questo: per mostrarti la mia potenza e perché il mio nome sia proclamato su tutta la terra.17Ti opponi ancora al mio popolo per non lasciarlo andare?18Ecco, domani verso quest’ora, io farò cadere una grandine così forte che non ce ne fu mai di simile in Egitto, dal giorno della sua fondazione, fino ad oggi.19Or dunque, fa’ mettere al riparo il tuo bestiame e tutto quello che hai nei campi. La grandine cadrà su tutta la gente, su tutti gli animali che si troveranno nei campi e che non saranno stati raccolti in casa, ed essi moriranno’”».20Tra i servitori del faraone, quelli che temettero la parola del Signore fecero rifugiare nelle case i loro servi e il loro bestiame,21ma quelli che non tennero conto della parola del Signore lasciarono i loro servi e il loro bestiame nei campi.22Il Signore disse a Mosè: «Stendi la tua mano verso il cielo e cada grandine su tutto il paese d’Egitto, sulla gente, sugli animali e sopra ogni erba dei campi, nel paese d’Egitto».23Mosè stese il suo bastone verso il cielo e il Signore mandò tuoni e grandine, e un fuoco si avventò sulla terra; il Signore fece piovere grandine sul paese d’Egitto.24Così ci fu grandine e il fuoco guizzava continuamente in mezzo alla grandine; la grandine fu così forte, come non ce n’era stata di simile in tutto il paese d’Egitto, da quando era diventato nazione.25La grandine percosse, in tutto il paese d’Egitto, tutto quello che era nei campi: uomini e bestie; la grandine percosse ogni erba dei campi e fracassò ogni albero della campagna.26Solamente nella terra di Goscen, dov’erano i figli d’Israele, non cadde grandine.27Allora il faraone mandò a chiamare Mosè e Aaronne e disse loro: «Questa volta io ho peccato; il Signore è giusto, mentre io e il mio popolo siamo colpevoli.28Pregate il Signore perché cessino questi grandi tuoni e la grandine. Io vi lascerò andare e non sarete più trattenuti».29Mosè gli disse: «Quando uscirò dalla città, tenderò le mani verso il Signore; i tuoni cesseranno e non ci sarà più grandine, affinché tu sappia che la terra è del Signore.30Ma quanto a te e ai tuoi servitori io so che ancora non temerete Dio il Signore».31Ora il lino e l’orzo erano stati colpiti, perché l’orzo era in spiga e il lino in fiore;32ma il grano e la spelta non furono colpiti, perché tardivi.33Mosè dunque, lasciato il faraone, uscì dalla città, tese le mani verso il Signore e i tuoni e la grandine cessarono e non cadde più pioggia sulla terra.34Quando il faraone vide che la pioggia, la grandine e i tuoni erano cessati, continuò a peccare, si ostinò in cuor suo, lui e i suoi servitori.35Il cuore del faraone si indurì ed egli non lasciò andare i figli d’Israele, come il Signore aveva detto per bocca di Mosè.
