Nichts Gesäuertes soll man essen.4Heute im Monat Abib seid ihr weggezogen.5Wenn dich der HERR in das Land der Kanaaniter, Hetiter, Amoriter, Hiwiter und Jebusiter geführt hat - er hat deinen Vätern mit einem Eid zugesichert, dir das Land zu geben, wo Milch und Honig fließen -, erfülle diesen Dienst in diesem Monat!6Sieben Tage sollst du ungesäuerte Brote essen, am siebten Tag ist ein Fest für den HERRN. (2Mo 34,18)7Ungesäuerte Brote soll man sieben Tage lang essen. Nichts Gesäuertes soll man bei dir sehen und kein Sauerteig soll in deinem ganzen Gebiet zu finden sein.8An diesem Tag erzähl deinem Sohn: Das geschieht für das, was der HERR an mir getan hat, als ich aus Ägypten auszog.9Es sei dir ein Zeichen an der Hand und ein Erinnerungsmal zwischen deinen Augen, damit die Weisung des HERRN in deinem Mund sei. Denn mit starker Hand hat dich der HERR aus Ägypten herausgeführt.10Bewahre diese Satzung, Jahr für Jahr, zur festgesetzten Zeit!11Der HERR wird dich in das Land der Kanaaniter bringen und wird es dir geben, wie er dir und deinen Vätern mit einem Eid zugesichert hat.12Dann musst du alles, was den Mutterschoß durchbricht, vor den HERRN bringen; alle männlichen Erstlinge, die dein Vieh wirft, gehören dem HERRN. (2Mo 34,19)13Jeden Erstling vom Esel aber löse durch ein Schaf aus! Willst du ihn nicht auslösen, dann brich ihm das Genick! Jeden Erstgeborenen deiner Söhne musst du auslösen.14Wenn dich morgen dein Sohn fragt: Was bedeutet das?, dann sag ihm: Mit starker Hand hat uns der HERR aus Ägypten, aus dem Sklavenhaus, herausgeführt.15Als der Pharao hart blieb und uns nicht ziehen ließ, erschlug der HERR alle Erstgeborenen im Land Ägypten, bei Mensch und Vieh. Darum opfere ich dem HERRN alle männlichen Tiere, die den Mutterschoß durchbrechen; alle Erstgeborenen meiner Söhne aber löse ich aus.16Das sei dir ein Zeichen an deiner Hand und ein Gehänge zwischen deinen Augen auf deiner Stirn; denn mit starker Hand hat uns der HERR aus Ägypten herausgeführt. Rettung im Roten Meer
17Als der Pharao das Volk ziehen ließ, führte sie Gott nicht den Weg ins Philisterland, obwohl er der kürzere war. Denn Gott sagte: Die Leute könnten es sonst, wenn sie Krieg erleben, bereuen und nach Ägypten zurückkehren wollen.18So ließ sie Gott einen Umweg machen, der durch die Wüste des Roten Meeres führte. Geordnet zogen die Israeliten aus dem Land Ägypten hinauf.19Mose nahm die Gebeine Josefs mit; denn dieser hatte die Söhne Israels beschworen: Wenn Gott sich euer annimmt, dann nehmt meine Gebeine von hier mit hinauf! (1Mo 50,25; Jos 24,32)20Sie brachen von Sukkot auf und schlugen ihr Lager in Etam am Rand der Wüste auf. (4Mo 33,5)21Der HERR zog vor ihnen her, bei Tag in einer Wolkensäule, um ihnen den Weg zu zeigen, bei Nacht in einer Feuersäule, um ihnen zu leuchten. So konnten sie Tag und Nacht unterwegs sein.22Die Wolkensäule wich bei Tag nicht von der Spitze des Volkes und die Feuersäule nicht bei Nacht.

Pillars of Cloud and Fire
17When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near. For God said, “Lest the people change their minds when they see war and return to Egypt.” (2Mo 14,11; 2Mo 14,12; Neh 9,17; Ps 107,7)18But God led the people around by the way of the wilderness toward the Red Sea. And the people of Israel went up out of the land of Egypt equipped for battle. (2Mo 14,2; 5Mo 32,10)19Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for Joseph[1] had made the sons of Israel solemnly swear, saying, “God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones with you from here.” (1Mo 50,25; Jos 24,32; Apg 7,16; Hebr 11,22)20And they moved on from Succoth and encamped at Etham, on the edge of the wilderness. Consacrazione dei primogeniti al Signore
1Il Signore disse a Mosè:2«Consacrami ogni primogenito tra i figli d’Israele, ogni primo parto, sia tra gli uomini, sia tra gli animali: esso appartiene a me».3Mosè disse al popolo: «Ricordate questo giorno, nel quale siete usciti dall’Egitto, dalla casa di schiavitù; perché il Signore vi ha fatti uscire di là, con mano potente; non si mangi pane lievitato.4Voi uscite oggi, nel mese di Abib[1].5Quando il Signore ti avrà fatto entrare nel paese dei Cananei, degli Ittiti, degli Amorei, degli Ivvei e dei Gebusei, che giurò ai tuoi padri di darti, paese dove scorrono il latte e il miele, compi questo rito in questo mese.6Per sette giorni mangia pane azzimo; il settimo giorno sarà una festa al Signore.7Si mangi pane azzimo per sette giorni e non si veda pane lievitato presso di te, né si veda lievito presso di te, in tutto il tuo territorio.8In quel giorno tu spiegherai questo a tuo figlio, dicendo: “Si fa così a motivo di quello che il Signore fece per me quando uscii dall’Egitto”.9Ciò sarà per te come un segno sulla tua mano, come un ricordo fra i tuoi occhi, affinché la legge del Signore sia nella tua bocca; poiché il Signore ti ha fatto uscire dall’Egitto con mano potente.10Osserva dunque questo decreto, al tempo fissato, di anno in anno.11Quando il Signore ti avrà fatto entrare nel paese dei Cananei, come giurò a te e ai tuoi padri, e te lo avrà dato,12consacra al Signore ogni primogenito e ogni primo parto del tuo bestiame. I maschi saranno del Signore.13Ma riscatta ogni primo parto dell’asino con un agnello; se non lo vuoi riscattare, spezzagli il collo. Riscatta anche ogni primogenito di uomo fra i tuoi figli.14Quando, in avvenire, tuo figlio ti interrogherà, dicendo: “Che significa questo?”, tu gli risponderai: “Il Signore ci fece uscire dall’Egitto, dalla casa di schiavitù, con mano potente;15e quando il faraone si ostinò a non lasciarci andare, il Signore uccise tutti i primogeniti nel paese d’Egitto, tanto i primogeniti degli uomini quanto i primogeniti degli animali. Perciò io sacrifico al Signore ogni primo parto maschio, ma riscatto ogni primogenito dei miei figli”.16Ciò sarà come un segno sulla tua mano e come un ricordo fra i tuoi occhi, poiché il Signore ci ha fatti uscire dall’Egitto con mano potente».

17Quando il faraone ebbe lasciato andare il popolo, Dio non lo condusse per la via del paese dei Filistei, benché fosse vicina, poiché Dio disse: «Bisogna evitare che il popolo, di fronte a una guerra, si penta e torni in Egitto».18Dio fece fare al popolo un giro per la via del deserto, verso il mar Rosso. I figli d’Israele partirono armati dal paese d’Egitto.19Mosè prese con sé le ossa di Giuseppe[2]; perché questi aveva espressamente fatto giurare i figli d’Israele, dicendo: «Dio certamente vi visiterà; allora, porterete con voi le mie ossa da qui».20Gli Israeliti, partiti da Succot, si accamparono a Etam, all’estremità del deserto.21Il Signore andava davanti a loro: di giorno, in una colonna di nuvola per guidarli lungo il cammino; di notte, in una colonna di fuoco per illuminarli, perché potessero camminare giorno e notte.22Egli non allontanava la colonna di nuvola durante il giorno, né la colonna di fuoco durante la notte, dal cospetto del popolo.
