Alive in Christ
6Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, (Col 1:10; 1Th 4:1)7rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. (Ac 20:32; 1Co 3:9; Eph 2:20; Eph 3:17; Eph 4:21; Eph 5:20; Col 4:2; Heb 13:9)8See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits[1] of the world, and not according to Christ. (Mt 15:2; Eph 5:6; Col 2:20; 1Ti 6:20)9For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, (Joh 1:14; Col 1:19; Col 2:17)10and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority. (Eph 1:21; Eph 3:19)11In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, (Ro 2:29; Eph 2:11; Col 2:15; Col 3:9)12having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. (Ac 3:19; Ro 7:4)15He disarmed the rulers and authorities[2] and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.[3] (Ge 3:15; Ps 68:18; Isa 53:12; Mt 12:29; Lu 10:18; Joh 12:31; Joh 16:11; Eph 2:16; Eph 4:8; Col 2:11; Heb 2:14)
Let No One Disqualify You
16Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. (Le 11:2; Le 23:2; Nu 28:11; Mr 2:28; Ro 14:3; Ro 14:5; Ro 14:10; Ro 14:13; Ro 14:17; Heb 9:10)17These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ. (Col 2:2; Heb 8:5; Heb 10:1)18Let no one disqualify you, insisting on asceticism and worship of angels, going on in detail about visions,[4] puffed up without reason by his sensuous mind, (Eze 13:7; Ro 8:7; 1Co 9:24; Eph 4:17; Col 2:23; 1Ti 1:7)19and not holding fast to the Head, from whom the whole body, nourished and knit together through its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God. (Eph 4:15; Re 2:13; Re 3:11)20If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the world, why, as if you were still alive in the world, do you submit to regulations— (Ro 6:2; Ga 4:9; Col 2:8)21“Do not handle, Do not taste, Do not touch” (Col 2:16; 1Ti 4:3)22(referring to things that all perish as they are used)—according to human precepts and teachings? (Isa 29:13; Mt 15:9; 1Co 6:13; Tit 1:14)23These have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and asceticism and severity to the body, but they are of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh. (Col 2:18; 1Ti 4:8)
1Ich will nämlich, dass ihr wisst, welch schweren Kampf ich führen muss für euch und die in Laodizea und alle, die mich nicht mit eigenen Augen gesehen haben, (Col 4:13)2damit ihre Herzen getröstet seien und in Liebe verbunden und es in allem zu umfassender Einsicht komme, zur Erkenntnis des Geheimnisses Gottes: Christus, (Col 4:3)3in dem alle Schätze der Weisheit und Erkenntnis verborgen sind.4Das sage ich, damit euch niemand mit klugen Worten zu täuschen vermag.5Denn auch wenn ich persönlich nicht da bin, so bin ich doch im Geist bei euch, und ich sehe mit Freude euer geordnetes Leben und die Festigkeit eures Glaubens an Christus. (1Co 5:3)
Die Auseinandersetzung mit den Gegnern
6Wie ihr nun Christus Jesus, den Herrn, angenommen habt, so lebt nun auch in ihm:7verwurzelt in ihm und aufgebaut auf diesem Fundament, gefestigt im Glauben, so wie ihr unterrichtet worden seid, und voller Dankbarkeit. (Eph 2:20; Eph 3:17)8Gebt acht, dass es niemandem gelingt, euch einzufangen durch Philosophie, durch leeren Betrug, der sich auf menschliche Überlieferung beruft, auf die kosmischen Elemente und nicht auf Christus. (Ga 4:3; Eph 2:20; Eph 5:6)9Denn in ihm wohnt die ganze Fülle der Gottheit leibhaftig, (Col 1:19)10und in ihm, der das Haupt aller Macht und Gewalt ist, habt ihr teil an dieser Fülle. (Eph 1:21; Col 1:16; Col 1:18)11In ihm habt ihr auch eine Beschneidung empfangen, die nicht durch Menschenhand vollzogen wird, sondern durch das Ablegen des vergänglichen Leibes: die Beschneidung, die in Christus geschieht. (Ro 2:29)12Mit ihm seid ihr begraben worden in der Taufe, und mit ihm seid ihr auch mitauferweckt worden durch den Glauben an die Kraft Gottes, der ihn von den Toten auferweckt hat. (Ro 6:4; Eph 1:20; Eph 2:5; Col 3:3)13Euch, die ihr tot wart in euren Verfehlungen, im unbeschnittenen Zustand eures Fleisches, euch hat er zusammen mit ihm lebendig gemacht, indem er uns alle Verfehlungen vergeben hat. (Eph 2:1)14Zerrissen hat er den Schuldschein, der aufgrund der Vereinbarungen gegen uns sprach und uns belastete. Er hat ihn aus dem Weg geräumt, indem er ihn ans Kreuz heftete. (Eph 2:15)15Die Mächte und Gewalten hat er ihrer Macht entkleidet und sie öffentlich zur Schau gestellt, ja im Triumphzug hat er sie mit sich geführt. (Eph 1:21; Col 1:16)16Darum soll niemand über euch zu Gericht sitzen in Sachen Speise und Trank, Fest, Neumond oder Sabbat; (Ro 14:2)17das alles ist ja nur ein Schatten des Künftigen, das Wirkliche ist Christus.[1] (Heb 10:1)18Niemand soll euch den Siegespreis aberkennen, keiner, der sich gefällt in Demut und Engelverehrung und dem, was er als Eingeweihter geschaut hat. Ohne Grund bläht er sich auf in seinem auf das Irdische beschränkten Sinn19und hält sich nicht an das Haupt, von dem aus der ganze Leib, durch Sehnen und Bänder gestützt und zusammengehalten, in göttlichem Wachstum wächst. (Eph 4:15; Col 1:18)20Wenn ihr mit Christus gestorben und von den kosmischen Elementen befreit seid, was lasst ihr euch dann Bedingungen auferlegen, als lebtet ihr noch in der Welt? (Ga 4:9; Col 2:8)21'Das darfst du nicht anfassen, das nicht kosten, das nicht zu dir nehmen!' - (1Ti 4:3)22lauter Dinge, die doch dazu da sind, gebraucht und aufgebraucht zu werden. So lauten Gebote und Lehren, die von Menschen stammen.23Das sieht alles nach Weisheit aus und kommt fromm und demütig daher, um ja nicht den Leib zu schonen; sie wollen ihm nicht die Ehre erweisen und nicht der Befriedigung des Fleisches dienen.[2]
