1For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. (1Co 1:23; Ga 4:29; Ga 6:12; 1Pe 2:8)12I wish those who unsettle you would emasculate themselves! (Ga 2:4; Ga 5:10)13For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. (1Co 8:9; 1Co 9:19; 1Pe 2:16; 2Pe 2:19; Jud 1:4)14For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Le 19:18; Mt 7:12; Mt 19:19; Mt 22:40; Joh 13:34; Ga 5:22; Ga 6:2)15But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another. (Php 3:2)
Keep in Step with the Spirit
16But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. (Ro 8:4; Ro 13:14; Ga 5:24; Eph 2:3)17For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. (Ro 7:15; Ro 7:18; Ro 7:23; Ro 8:5)18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. (Ro 7:4; Ro 8:14)19Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, (Mt 15:18; 1Co 3:3; Eph 5:3; Col 3:5; Jas 3:14)20idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, (1Co 11:19)21envy,[4] drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do[5] such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (1Co 6:9; Col 3:6)22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, (Ro 5:1; Ro 7:4; Ro 8:5; 2Co 6:6; Eph 5:9; Col 3:12)23gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Ac 24:25; Eph 4:2; 1Ti 1:9)24And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. (Ro 6:6; Ro 7:5; Ga 5:16)25If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. (Ga 5:16)26Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. (Php 2:3)
Die Freiheit in Christus und die Verführung der judaistischen Irrlehrer
1So steht nun fest in der Freiheit, zu der uns Christus befreit hat, und lasst euch nicht wieder in ein Joch der Knechtschaft spannen! (Ac 15:5; Ro 3:19; Ro 10:4; Ga 2:16)4Ihr seid losgetrennt von Christus, die ihr durchs Gesetz gerecht werden wollt; ihr seid aus der Gnade gefallen! (Ro 11:6; Ga 5:3)5Wir aber erwarten im Geist aus Glauben die Hoffnung der Gerechtigkeit; (Ro 5:1)6denn in Christus Jesus gilt weder Beschneidung noch Unbeschnittensein etwas, sondern der Glaube, der durch die Liebe wirksam ist. (Ro 2:3; 2Co 2:3; Ga 1:7; Php 2:24; Php 3:15)11Ich aber, ihr Brüder, wenn ich noch die Beschneidung verkündigte, warum würde ich dann noch verfolgt? Dann hätte das Ärgernis des Kreuzes aufgehört! (1Co 1:23; Ga 4:29; Ga 6:12)12O dass sie auch abgeschnitten würden, die euch verwirren! (1Co 5:13)13Denn ihr seid zur Freiheit berufen, Brüder; nur macht die Freiheit nicht zu einem Vorwand für das Fleisch, sondern dient einander durch die Liebe. (Ro 8:2; Ro 8:12; Ga 5:1; 1Pe 2:16)14Denn das ganze Gesetz wird in einem Wort erfüllt, in dem: »Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben wie dich selbst«.[1] (Le 19:18; Mt 7:12; Lu 10:29)15Wenn ihr einander aber beißt und fresst, so habt acht, dass ihr nicht voneinander aufgezehrt werdet!
Ermahnung zum Wandel im Geist
16Ich sage aber: Wandelt im Geist, so werdet ihr die Lust des Fleisches[2] nicht vollbringen. (Ro 6:14; Ro 8:4)17Denn das Fleisch gelüstet gegen den Geist und der Geist gegen das Fleisch; und diese widerstreben einander, sodass ihr nicht das tut, was ihr wollt. (Ro 8:5)18Wenn ihr aber vom Geist geleitet werdet, so seid ihr nicht unter dem Gesetz. (Ro 8:2; Ro 8:14)19Offenbar sind aber die Werke des Fleisches, welche sind: Ehebruch, Unzucht, Unreinheit, Zügellosigkeit; (Mt 15:19; Col 3:5; 1Pe 4:3; Re 21:8)20Götzendienst, Zauberei, Feindschaft, Streit, Eifersucht, Zorn, Selbstsucht, Zwietracht, Parteiungen; (De 18:10; Re 9:21; Re 18:23)21Neid, Mord, Trunkenheit, Gelage und dergleichen, wovon ich euch voraussage, wie ich schon zuvor gesagt habe, dass die, welche solche Dinge tun, das Reich Gottes nicht erben werden. (Mt 27:18; Ro 13:13; Eph 5:5; Tit 3:3)22Die Frucht des Geistes aber ist Liebe, Freude, Friede, Langmut, Freundlichkeit, Güte, Treue, Sanftmut, Selbstbeherrschung. (Ro 14:17; Col 3:12)23Gegen solche Dinge gibt es kein Gesetz. (1Ti 1:8)24Die aber Christus angehören, die haben das Fleisch gekreuzigt samt den Leidenschaften und Lüsten. (Ps 131:2; Ro 6:6)25Wenn wir im Geist leben, so lasst uns auch im Geist wandeln. (Ro 8:4; Ro 8:9)26Lasst uns nicht nach leerem Ruhm streben, einander nicht herausfordern noch einander beneiden! (Php 2:3)
