1“Then bring near to you Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, from among the people of Israel, to serve me as priests—Aaron and Aaron’s sons, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. You shall enclose them in settings of gold filigree.12And you shall set the two stones on the shoulder pieces of the ephod, as stones of remembrance for the sons of Israel. And Aaron shall bear their names before the Lord on his two shoulders for remembrance. (Ex 39:8)16It shall be square and doubled, a span[1] its length and a span its breadth.17You shall set in it four rows of stones. A row of sardius,[2] topaz, and carbuncle shall be the first row; (Eze 28:13; Re 21:19)18and the second row an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond;19and the third row a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;20and the fourth row a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper. They shall be set in gold filigree.21There shall be twelve stones with their names according to the names of the sons of Israel. They shall be like signets, each engraved with its name, for the twelve tribes.22You shall make for the breastpiece twisted chains like cords, of pure gold.23And you shall make for the breastpiece two rings of gold, and put the two rings on the two edges of the breastpiece.24And you shall put the two cords of gold in the two rings at the edges of the breastpiece.25The two ends of the two cords you shall attach to the two settings of filigree, and so attach it in front to the shoulder pieces of the ephod.26You shall make two rings of gold, and put them at the two ends of the breastpiece, on its inside edge next to the ephod.27And you shall make two rings of gold, and attach them in front to the lower part of the two shoulder pieces of the ephod, at its seam above the skillfully woven band of the ephod. (Ex 28:8)28And they shall bind the breastpiece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, so that it may lie on the skillfully woven band of the ephod, so that the breastpiece shall not come loose from the ephod.29So Aaron shall bear the names of the sons of Israel in the breastpiece of judgment on his heart, when he goes into the Holy Place, to bring them to regular remembrance before the Lord. (Ex 28:12; Ex 28:30)30And in the breastpiece of judgment you shall put the Urim and the Thummim, and they shall be on Aaron’s heart, when he goes in before the Lord. Thus Aaron shall bear the judgment of the people of Israel on his heart before the Lord regularly. (Ex 39:22)32It shall have an opening for the head in the middle of it, with a woven binding around the opening, like the opening in a garment,[3] so that it may not tear.33On its hem you shall make pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet yarns, around its hem, with bells of gold between them,34a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, around the hem of the robe.35And it shall be on Aaron when he ministers, and its sound shall be heard when he goes into the Holy Place before the Lord, and when he comes out, so that he does not die.36“You shall make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it, like the engraving of a signet, ‘Holy to the Lord.’ (Le 8:9; Zec 14:20)37And you shall fasten it on the turban by a cord of blue. It shall be on the front of the turban.38It shall be on Aaron’s forehead, and Aaron shall bear any guilt from the holy things that the people of Israel consecrate as their holy gifts. You shall make them for glory and beauty. (Ex 28:2; Ex 39:27; Ex 39:41; Eze 44:17)41And you shall put them on Aaron your brother, and on his sons with him, and shall anoint them and ordain them and consecrate them, that they may serve me as priests. Das Ephod
6Das Ephod sollen sie aus Gold herstellen und aus [Garnen von] blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin und gezwirntem Leinen, in kunstvoller Arbeit. (Ex 28:12; Ex 28:26; Ex 28:28; Ex 35:27; Le 8:7; 1Sa 2:18; 1Sa 2:28; 1Sa 22:18; Ho 3:4; Zec 3:5)7Zwei verbindende Schulterstücke soll es haben an seinen beiden Enden, und so soll es verbunden werden. (Ex 39:4)8Und der gewirkte Gürtel, der darauf liegt und mit dem es angebunden wird, soll von der gleichen Arbeit sein, aus dem gleichen Stoff: aus Gold, aus [Garnen] von blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin und aus gezwirntem Leinen. Das Brustschild
15Das Brustschild des Rechtsspruchs[1] sollst du in kunstvoller Arbeit anfertigen, in der gleichen Arbeit wie das Ephod sollst du es anfertigen, aus Gold, aus [Garnen von] blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin und gezwirntem Leinen sollst du es machen. (Ex 28:23; Ex 28:30; Ex 39:8; Ex 39:15; Le 8:8)16Viereckig soll es sein und doppelt gelegt, eine Spanne lang und eine Spanne breit. (Ex 39:9)17Und du sollst es mit eingefassten Steinen besetzen, vier Reihen von Steinen; eine Reihe sei ein Rubin, ein Topas und ein Smaragd, die erste Reihe; (Ex 39:10; Zec 9:16; Re 21:19)18die zweite Reihe ein Granat, ein Saphir und ein Diamant; (Ex 39:11)19die dritte Reihe ein Opal, ein Achat und ein Amethyst; (Ex 39:12)20die vierte Reihe ein Chrysolith, ein Onyx und ein Jaspis. In Gold sollen sie gefasst sein bei ihrer Einsetzung. (Ex 39:13)21Und es sollen zwölf dieser Steine sein, entsprechend den Namen der Söhne Israels, [einer] für jeden ihrer Namen; in Siegelgravur, ein Stein für jeden Namen der zwölf Stämme. (Ex 28:11; Nu 23:21; Jos 4:8; So 8:6; Zec 3:9; Re 21:12)22Und du sollst für das Brustschild schnurförmige Ketten anfertigen, in Flechtwerk, aus reinem Gold, (Ex 28:14)23und du sollst für das Brustschild zwei goldene Ringe machen und die beiden Ringe an den beiden Enden des Brustschildes befestigen; (Ex 28:15)24und mache die beiden geflochtenen Ketten aus Gold an den beiden Ringen fest, die an den beiden Enden des Brustschilds sind. (Ex 39:17)25Aber die beiden anderen Enden der zwei geflochtenen Ketten sollst du an den beiden Einfassungen befestigen und sie auf die Schulterstücke des Ephod heften, an seiner Vorderseite. (Ex 28:14; Ex 39:18)26Und stelle zwei andere goldene Ringe her und hefte sie an die anderen beiden Ecken des Brustschilds, nämlich an seinen Saum, der inwendig dem Ephod zugekehrt ist. (Ex 39:19)27Und du sollst noch zwei goldene Ringe herstellen und sie auf die beiden Schulterstücke des Ephod heften, unten an seine Vorderseite, dort, wo das Ephod miteinander verbunden ist, oberhalb des gewirkten Gürtels des Ephod. (Ex 39:20)28Und man soll das Brustschild mit seinen Ringen mit einer Schnur von blauem Purpur an die Ringe des Ephod knüpfen, dass es an dem gewirkten Gürtel des Ephod eng anliegt und das Brustschild sich nicht von dem Ephod loslöst. (Ex 39:21)29Und Aaron soll die Namen der Söhne Israels an dem Brustschild des Rechtsspruchs auf seinem Herzen tragen, wenn er in das Heiligtum hineingeht, zum beständigen Gedenken vor dem HERRN. (Ex 28:12)30Und du sollst in das Brustschild des Rechtsspruchs die Urim und Thummim[2] legen, damit sie auf dem Herzen Aarons sind, wenn er hineingeht vor den HERRN; und so soll Aaron den Rechtsspruch der Kinder Israels beständig auf seinem Herzen tragen vor den HERRN. Das Obergewand zum Ephod
31Und mache das Obergewand zum Ephod ganz aus blauem Purpur. (Ex 39:22; 1Sa 2:19)32Und oben in der Mitte soll eine Öffnung für den Kopf sein und ein Saum um die Öffnung her, in Weberarbeit, wie der Saum eines Panzerhemds, damit es nicht zerreißt. (Ex 39:23; Le 10:6; Le 21:10; Joh 19:23)33Und [unten], an seinem Saum, sollst du ringsum Granatäpfel anbringen aus blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin und ringsum goldene Schellen zwischen ihnen; (Ex 28:15; Ex 39:24)34es soll eine goldene Schelle sein, danach ein Granatapfel, und wieder eine goldene Schelle, danach ein Granatapfel, ringsum an dem Saum des Obergewandes. (Ex 39:25; Ps 89:16; So 4:3; So 4:13; So 6:7; So 6:11)35Und Aaron soll es tragen, wenn er dient, und sein Klang soll gehört werden, wenn er in das Heiligtum hineingeht vor den HERRN und wenn er hinausgeht, damit er nicht stirbt.
Das goldene Stirnblatt
36Du sollst auch ein Stirnblatt aus reinem Gold anfertigen und in Siegelgravur eingravieren: »Heilig dem HERRN«; (Ex 19:6; Ex 39:30; Le 8:9; Ps 93:5; Zec 14:20; 1Pe 1:16; Re 7:3; Re 14:1; Re 22:4)37und du sollst es anheften mit einer Schnur von blauem Purpur, sodass es am Kopfbund ist; vorn am Kopfbund soll es sein;38und es soll auf Aarons Stirn sein, damit Aaron die Verschuldung in Bezug auf die heiligen Gaben trage, welche die Kinder Israels darbringen, bei allen ihren heiligen Gaben. Und es soll allezeit auf seiner Stirn sein, um sie wohlgefällig zu machen vor dem HERRN. (Le 10:17; Nu 18:1; Isa 53:6; Joh 1:29; 2Co 5:21; Heb 9:28; 1Pe 2:24)
Die Kleidung der Priester
39Und webe den Leibrock aus gemustertem Leinen, und fertige einen Kopfbund aus Leinen an, und mache einen Gürtel in Buntwirkerarbeit. (Ex 28:37; Ex 29:5; Ex 29:6; Ex 39:27; Ex 39:28; Le 8:7; Le 8:9; Eze 44:17; Zec 3:5)40Mache auch den Söhnen Aarons Leibröcke, und fertige für sie Gürtel an, und mache ihnen hohe Kopfbedeckungen zur Ehre und zur Zierde. (Ex 39:27; Eze 44:17)41Und du sollst sie deinem Bruder Aaron anlegen und auch seinen Söhnen, und sie salben und ihre Hände füllen[3] und sie heiligen, dass sie mir als Priester dienen. (Le 6:3; Le 16:4; Eze 44:18; Re 3:18)43Und Aaron und seine Söhne sollen sie tragen, wenn sie in die Stiftshütte hineingehen oder wenn sie dem Altar nahen, zum Dienst am Heiligtum, damit sie keine Schuld auf sich laden und nicht sterben müssen.
