The Way of the Righteous and the Wicked

1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; (Job 21:16; Ps 26:4; Ps 107:32; Pr 1:10; Pr 1:22; Pr 3:34; Pr 4:14; Pr 19:29; Pr 21:24; Pr 29:8; Isa 28:14; Jer 15:17) 

2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. (Jos 1:8; Ps 112:1; Ps 119:1; Ps 119:35; Ps 119:47; Ps 119:92; Ps 119:97) 

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. (Ge 39:3; Ge 39:23; Nu 24:6; Job 29:19; Ps 46:4; Ps 128:2; Isa 3:10; Isa 34:4; Jer 17:8; Eze 19:10; Eze 47:12) 

4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. (Job 21:18) 

5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; (Ps 5:5; Ps 76:7; Eze 13:9; Na 1:6; Lu 21:36; Eph 6:13) 

6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. (Ps 31:7; Ps 37:5; Ps 37:18; Ps 144:3; Na 1:7; Joh 10:14; 2Ti 2:19)

Deux hommes, deux destinées

1 Heureux l'homme qui ne suit pas le conseil des méchants, qui ne s'arrête pas sur la voie des pécheurs et ne s'assied pas en compagnie des moqueurs, 

2 mais qui trouve son plaisir dans la loi de l'Eternel et la médite jour et nuit! 

3 Il ressemble à un arbre planté près d'un cours d'eau: il donne son fruit en sa saison, et son feuillage ne se flétrit pas. Tout ce qu'il fait lui réussit. 

4 Les méchants, au contraire, ressemblent à la paille que le vent disperse. 

5 Voilà pourquoi les méchants ne résistent pas lors du jugement, ni les pécheurs dans l'assemblée des justes. 

6 En effet, l'Eternel connaît la voie des justes, mais la voie des méchants mène à la ruine.
