1Then Moses answered, “But behold, they will not believe me or listen to my voice, for they will say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you.’”2The Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A staff.” (Ex 4:17; Ex 4:20)3And he said, “Throw it on the ground.” So he threw it on the ground, and it became a serpent, and Moses ran from it.4But the Lord said to Moses, “Put out your hand and catch it by the tail”—so he put out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand—5“that they may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.” (Ex 3:6; Ex 19:9)6Again, the Lord said to him, “Put your hand inside your cloak.”[1] And he put his hand inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous[2] like snow. (Nu 12:10; 2Ki 5:27)7Then God said, “Put your hand back inside your cloak.” So he put his hand back inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, it was restored like the rest of his flesh. (2Ki 5:14)8“If they will not believe you,” God said, “or listen to the first sign, they may believe the latter sign.9If they will not believe even these two signs or listen to your voice, you shall take some water from the Nile and pour it on the dry ground, and the water that you shall take from the Nile will become blood on the dry ground.” (Ex 7:19)10But Moses said to the Lord, “Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.” (Ex 6:12; Jer 1:6)11Then the Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?12Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.” (Ex 3:12; Isa 50:4; Jer 1:9; Eze 33:22; Mt 10:19; Mr 13:11; Lu 12:11; Lu 21:15)13But he said, “Oh, my Lord, please send someone else.”14Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses and he said, “Is there not Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Behold, he is coming out to meet you, and when he sees you, he will be glad in his heart. (Ex 4:27)15You shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth, and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth and will teach you both what to do. (Ex 4:12; Ex 7:1; Nu 22:38; Nu 23:5; Nu 23:12; Nu 23:16; De 18:18; 2Sa 14:3; 2Sa 14:19; Isa 51:16)16He shall speak for you to the people, and he shall be your mouth, and you shall be as God to him. (Ex 4:30; Ex 7:1; Ex 18:19)17And take in your hand this staff, with which you shall do the signs.” (Ex 4:2; Ex 7:15)
Moses Returns to Egypt
18Moses went back to Jethro his father-in-law and said to him, “Please let me go back to my brothers in Egypt to see whether they are still alive.” And Jethro said to Moses, “Go in peace.” (Ex 2:18)19And the Lord said to Moses in Midian, “Go back to Egypt, for all the men who were seeking your life are dead.” (Ex 2:15; Ex 2:23; Mt 2:20)20So Moses took his wife and his sons and had them ride on a donkey, and went back to the land of Egypt. And Moses took the staff of God in his hand. (Ex 17:9; Ex 18:2; Nu 20:8)21And the Lord said to Moses, “When you go back to Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all the miracles that I have put in your power. But I will harden his heart, so that he will not let the people go. (Ex 3:20; Ex 7:13; Ex 7:22; Ex 8:15; Ex 8:32; Ex 9:12; Ex 9:35; Ex 10:1; Ex 14:8; De 2:30; Jos 11:20; Isa 63:17; Ro 9:17)22Then you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the Lord, Israel is my firstborn son, (Jer 31:9; Ho 11:1)23and I say to you, “Let my son go that he may serve me.” If you refuse to let him go, behold, I will kill your firstborn son.’” (Ex 11:5; Ex 12:29)24At a lodging place on the way the Lord met him and sought to put him to death. (Ge 17:14; Nu 22:22; 1Ch 21:16)25Then Zipporah took a flint and cut off her son’s foreskin and touched Moses’[3] feet with it and said, “Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me!” (Ex 2:21; Jos 5:2)26So he let him alone. It was then that she said, “A bridegroom of blood,” because of the circumcision.27The Lord said to Aaron, “Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.” So he went and met him at the mountain of God and kissed him. (Ex 3:1; Ex 4:14)28And Moses told Aaron all the words of the Lord with which he had sent him to speak, and all the signs that he had commanded him to do. (Ex 4:3; Ex 4:15)29Then Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the people of Israel. (Ex 3:16)30Aaron spoke all the words that the Lord had spoken to Moses and did the signs in the sight of the people. (Ex 4:16)31And the people believed; and when they heard that the Lord had visited the people of Israel and that he had seen their affliction, they bowed their heads and worshiped. (Ge 24:26; Ex 2:25; Ex 3:7; Ex 3:16; Ex 3:18; Ex 4:8; Ex 12:27; 1Ch 29:20)
1آنگاه موسی به خدا گفت: «اگر بنیاسرائيل مرا نپذيرند و سخنان مرا باور نكنند و بگويند: ”چگونه بدانيم كه خداوند بر تو ظاهر شده است؟“ من به آنان چه جواب دهم؟»2خداوند از موسی پرسيد: «در دستت چه داری؟» جواب داد: «عصا.»3خداوند فرمود: «آن را روی زمين بينداز!» وقتی موسی عصا را بر زمين انداخت، ناگهان عصا به ماری تبديل شد و موسی از آن فرار كرد!4خداوند فرمود: «دستت را دراز كن و دمش را بگير!» موسی دست خود را دراز كرد و دم مار را گرفت و مار دوباره به عصا تبديل شد!5آنگاه خداوند فرمود: «اين كار را بكن تا سخنان تو را باور كنند و بدانند كه خداوند، خدای اجدادشان ابراهيم، اسحاق و يعقوب بر تو ظاهر شده است.»6سپس خداوند فرمود: «دستت را داخل ردايت ببر!» موسی دستش را داخل ردايش برد و همين كه آن را بيرون آورد، ديد كه دستش بر اثر جذام مثل برف سفيد شده است.7او گفت: «حالا دستت را دوباره داخل ردايت ببر!» وقتی موسی بار ديگر دستش را داخل ردايش برد و آن را بيرون آورد، ديد كه دستش دوباره صحيح و سالم است.8آنگاه خداوند به موسی فرمود: «اگر چنانچه مردم معجزهٔ اول را باور نكردند، دومی را باور خواهند كرد.9اما اگر پس از اين دو معجزه باز سخنان تو را قبول نكردند، آنگاه از آب رود نيل بردار و روی خشكی بريز. آب به خون تبديل خواهد شد!»10موسی گفت: «خداوندا، من هرگز سخنور خوبی نبودهام، نه در سابق و نه اكنون كه با من سخن گفتهای، بلكه لكنت زبان دارم.»11خداوند فرمود: «كيست كه زبان به انسان داده است؟ گنگ و كر و بينا و نابينا را چه كسی آفريده است؟ آيا نه من كه خداوند هستم؟12بنابراين، برو و من به تو قدرت بيان خواهم داد و هر آنچه بايد بگويی به تو خواهم آموخت.»13اما موسی گفت: «خداوندا، تمنا میكنم كس ديگری را به جای من بفرست.»14پس خداوند بر موسی خشمگين شد و فرمود: «برادرت هارون سخنور خوبی است و اكنون میآيد تا تو را ببيند و از ديدنت خوشحال خواهد شد.15آنچه را كه بايد بيان كنی به هارون بگو تا از طرف تو بگويد. من به هر دو شما قدرت بيان خواهم بخشيد و به شما خواهم گفت كه چه بايد كرد.16او در برابر مردم سخنگوی تو خواهد بود و تو برای او چون خدا خواهی بود و هر چه را كه به او بگويی بيان خواهد كرد.17اين عصا را نيز همراه خود ببر تا با آن معجزاتی را كه به تو نشان دادم ظاهر سازی.»
موسی به مصر باز میگردد
18موسی نزد پدر زن خود يترون بازگشت و به او گفت: «میخواهم به مصر بروم و ببينم بستگانم زندهاند يا نه.» يترون گفت: «برو به سلامت.»19پيش از آنكه موسی سرزمين مديان را ترک كند، خداوند به او گفت: «به مصر برو، چون كسانی كه میخواستند تو را بكشند، ديگر زنده نيستند.»20پس، موسی«عصای خدا» را در دست گرفت و زن و فرزندان خود را برداشت و آنان را بر الاغ سوار كرده، به مصر بازگشت.21خداوند به او فرمود: «وقتی به مصر رسيدی، نزد فرعون برو و معجزاتی را كه به تو نشان دادهام در حضور او ظاهر كن؛ ولی من قلب فرعون را سخت میسازم تا بنیاسرائيل را رها نكند.22به او بگو كه خداوند میفرمايد: ”اسرائيل، پسر ارشد من است؛23بنابراين، به تو دستور میدهم بگذاری او از مصر خارج شود و مرا عبادت كند. اگر سرپيچی كنی، پسر ارشد تو را خواهم كشت.“»24پس موسی و خانوادهاش به سوی مصر رهسپار شدند. در بين راه وقتی استراحت میكردند، خداوند بر او ظاهر شد و او را به مرگ تهديد كرد.25-26پس صفوره يک سنگ تيز گرفت و پسرش را ختنه كرد و پوست اضافی را جلو پای موسی انداخت و گفت: «به سبب ختنه نكردن پسرت نزديک بود خودت را به كشتن دهی.» بنابراين، خدا از كشتن موسی چشم پوشيد.27آنگاه خداوند به هارون فرمود تا به پيشواز برادرش موسی به صحرا برود. پس هارون به سوی كوه حوريب كه به«كوه خدا» معروف است، روانه شد. وقتی آن دو به هم رسيدند، يكديگر را بوسيدند.28سپس، موسی برای هارون تعريف كرد كه خداوند به او چه دستوراتی داده، و چه معجزاتی بايد در حضور پادشاه مصر انجام دهد.29سپس موسی و هارون به مصر بازگشتند و تمام بزرگان بنیاسرائيل را جمع كردند.30هارون هر چه را كه خداوند به موسی فرموده بود، برای ايشان تعريف كرد و موسی نيز معجزات را به آنها نشان داد.31آنگاه قوم اسرائيل باور كردند كه آنها فرستادگان خدا هستند، و هنگامی كه شنيدند خداوند به مصيبتهای ايشان توجه فرموده و میخواهد آنها را نجات دهد، رو به زمين نهاده خدا را عبادت كردند.
