Psalm 70

English Standard Version

1 To the choirmaster. Of David, for the memorial offering. Make haste, O God, to deliver me! O Lord, make haste to help me! (1Ch 16:4; Ps 38:1; Ps 40:13)2 Let them be put to shame and confusion who seek my life! Let them be turned back and brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt!3 Let them turn back because of their shame who say, “Aha, Aha!”4 May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you! May those who love your salvation say evermore, “God is great!”5 But I am poor and needy; hasten to me, O God! You are my help and my deliverer; O Lord, do not delay! (Ps 141:1)

Psalm 70

New International Version

1 Hasten, O God, to save me; come quickly, Lord, to help me.2 May those who want to take my life be put to shame and confusion; may all who desire my ruin be turned back in disgrace.3 May those who say to me, ‘Aha! Aha!’ turn back because of their shame.4 But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who long for your saving help always say, ‘The Lord is great!’5 But as for me, I am poor and needy; come quickly to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; Lord, do not delay.

Psalm 70

King James Version

1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance. Make haste , O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O LORD.2 Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt.3 Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha.4 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.5 But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.

Psalm 70

New International Reader’s Version

1 God, hurry and save me. LORD, come quickly and help me.2 Let those who are trying to kill me be put to shame. Let them not be honoured. Let all those who want to destroy me be turned back in shame.3 Some people make fun of me. Let them be turned back when their plans fail.4 But let all those who seek you be joyful and glad because of what you have done. Let those who want you to save them always say, ‘The LORD is great!’5 But I am poor and needy. God, come quickly to me. You are the God who helps me and saves me. LORD, please don’t wait any longer.
