1HERR, warum stehst du so ferne, verbirgst dich zur Zeit der Not?2Weil der Frevler Übermut treibt, müssen die Elenden leiden; sie werden gefangen in den Ränken, die er ersann.3Denn der Frevler rühmt sich seines Mutwillens, und der Habgierige sagt dem HERRN ab und lästert ihn.4Der Frevler meint in seinem Stolz, Gott frage nicht danach. »Es ist kein Gott«, sind alle seine Gedanken.5Er fährt fort in seinem Tun immerdar. / Deine Gerichte sind ferne von ihm, er handelt gewaltsam an allen seinen Feinden. (Am 6:3)6Er spricht in seinem Herzen: »Ich werde nimmermehr wanken, es wird für und für keine Not haben.« (Ps 73:6)7Sein Mund ist voll Fluchens, voll Lug und Trug; seine Zunge richtet Mühsal und Unheil an. (Ro 3:14)8Er sitzt und lauert in den Höfen, / er mordet die Unschuldigen heimlich, seine Augen spähen nach den Armen.9Er lauert im Verborgenen wie ein Löwe im Dickicht, / er lauert, dass er den Elenden fange; er fängt ihn und zieht ihn in sein Netz.10Er duckt sich, kauert nieder, und durch seine Gewalt fallen die Schwachen.11Er spricht in seinem Herzen: »Gott hat’s vergessen, er hat sein Antlitz verborgen, er wird’s nimmermehr sehen.« (Ps 73:11; Ps 94:7; Isa 29:15)12Steh auf, HERR! Gott, erhebe deine Hand! Vergiss die Elenden nicht! (Nu 10:35)13Warum lästert der Frevler und spricht in seinem Herzen: »Du fragst doch nicht danach«?14Du siehst es ja, / denn du schaust das Elend und den Jammer; es steht in deinen Händen. Die Armen befehlen es dir; du bist der Waisen Helfer. (Ex 22:22; Ps 68:6)15Zerbrich den Arm des Frevlers und Bösen / und suche seinen Frevel heim, dass man nichts mehr davon finde. (Job 38:15)16Der HERR ist König immer und ewiglich; die Heiden sind verschwunden aus seinem Lande.17Das Verlangen der Elenden hörst du, HERR; du machst ihr Herz gewiss, dein Ohr merkt darauf, (Ps 9:19)18dass du Recht schaffest den Waisen und Armen, dass der Mensch nicht mehr trotze auf Erden.

Pourquoi te caches-tu dans les moments de détresse?2Le méchant, dans son orgueil, poursuit les malheureux: ils sont pris dans les pièges qu'il a conçus.3Le méchant se vante de ses mauvais désirs, le profiteur maudit et méprise l'Eternel.4Le méchant dit, dans son arrogance: «Il ne punit pas! Il n'y a pas de Dieu!» Voilà toutes ses pensées.5Ses entreprises réussissent en tout temps; tes jugements passent au-dessus de sa tête, il disperse tous ses adversaires.6Il dit dans son cœur: «Je ne suis pas ébranlé, je suis pour toujours à l'abri du malheur!»7Sa bouche est pleine de malédictions, de tromperies[1] et de fraudes; il y a sous sa langue la méchanceté et le malheur. (Ro 3:14)8Il se tient en embuscade près des villages, il assassine l'innocent dans des endroits retirés; ses yeux épient le malheureux.9Il est aux aguets dans sa cachette comme le lion dans sa tanière, il est aux aguets pour attraper le malheureux; il l'attrape en l'attirant dans son piège.10Il s'accroupit, il se tapit, et les malheureux tombent dans ses griffes.11Il dit dans son cœur: «Dieu oublie, il se cache, il ne regarde jamais!»12Lève-toi, Eternel, ô Dieu, interviens, n'oublie pas les malheureux!13Pourquoi le méchant méprise-t-il Dieu? Pourquoi dit-il en son cœur que tu ne punis pas?14Tu vois cependant leur peine et leur souffrance, tu regardes, pour prendre en main leur cause. C'est à toi que le malheureux s'abandonne, c'est toi qui viens en aide à l'orphelin.15Brise la force du méchant, punis sa méchanceté, et qu'il disparaisse à tes yeux!16L'Eternel est roi pour toujours et à perpétuité; les autres nations disparaissent de son pays.17Tu entends les désirs de ceux qui souffrent, Eternel, tu leur redonnes courage, tu prêtes l'oreille18pour rendre justice à l'orphelin et à l'opprimé, afin que l'homme tiré de la terre cesse d'inspirer de la crainte.
