5 He who gathers in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame. 26 Like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to those who send him. 27 The fear of the Lord prolongs life, but the years of the wicked will be short. (Job 15:32; Pr 3:2) 28 The hope of the righteous brings joy, but the expectation of the wicked will perish. (Job 8:13; Lu 21:28) 29 The way of the Lord is a stronghold to the blameless, but destruction to evildoers. 1 Dies sind die Sprüche Salomos. Ein weiser Sohn ist seines Vaters Freude; aber ein törichter Sohn ist seiner Mutter Grämen. (Pr 15:20) 2 Unrecht Gut hilft nicht; aber Gerechtigkeit errettet vom Tode. 3 Der HERR lässt den Gerechten nicht Hunger leiden; aber die Gier der Gottlosen stößt er zurück. (Ps 37:19; Ps 37:25) 4 Lässige Hand macht arm; aber der Fleißigen Hand macht reich. (Pr 6:6) 5 Wer im Sommer sammelt, der ist klug; wer aber in der Ernte schläft, wird zuschanden. 6 Segen ruht auf dem Haupt des Gerechten; aber der Mund der Frevler deckt Gewalttat. 7 Das Andenken des Gerechten bleibt im Segen; aber der Name der Frevler wird verwesen. (Job 18:17; Ps 9:6) 8 Wer weisen Herzens ist, nimmt Gebote an; wer aber ein Narrenmaul hat, kommt zu Fall. 9 Wer in Unschuld lebt, der lebt sicher; wer aber verkehrte Wege geht, wird ertappt werden. 10 Wer mit den Augen winkt, schafft Verdruss, und wer ein Narrenmaul hat, kommt zu Fall. (1Pe 4:8) 13 Auf den Lippen des Verständigen findet man Weisheit; aber auf den Rücken des Unverständigen gehört eine Rute. 14 Die Weisen halten mit ihrem Wissen zurück; aber der Toren Mund führt schnell zum Verderben. 15 Die Habe des Reichen ist seine feste Stadt; aber das Verderben der Geringen ist ihre Armut. (Pr 18:11) 16 Dem Gerechten gereicht sein Erwerb zum Leben, aber dem Frevler sein Einkommen zur Sünde. 17 Zucht bewahren ist der Weg zum Leben; wer aber Zurechtweisung nicht achtet, geht in die Irre. 18 Wer Hass verdeckt, hat Lügen auf den Lippen, und wer Verleumdung ausstreut, der ist ein Narr. 19 Wo viel Worte sind, da geht’s ohne Sünde nicht ab; wer aber seine Lippen im Zaum hält, ist klug. 20 Des Gerechten Zunge ist kostbares Silber; aber der Gottlosen Verstand ist wie nichts. 21 Des Gerechten Lippen erquicken viele; aber die Toren werden an ihrer Torheit sterben. 22 Der Segen des HERRN allein macht reich, und nichts tut eigene Mühe hinzu. (Ps 127:2) 23 Ein Tor hat Lust an Schandtat, aber der einsichtige Mann an Weisheit. 24 Was der Frevler fürchtet, das wird ihm begegnen; und was die Gerechten begehren, wird ihnen gegeben. (Ps 37:4; Pr 1:27) 25 Wenn das Wetter daherfährt, ist der Frevler nicht mehr; der Gerechte aber besteht ewiglich. (Pr 12:7) 26 Wie Essig den Zähnen und Rauch den Augen tut, so tut der Faule denen, die ihn senden. 27 Die Furcht des HERRN mehrt die Tage; aber die Jahre der Gottlosen werden verkürzt. 28 Das Warten der Gerechten wird Freude werden; aber der Gottlosen Hoffnung wird verloren sein. (Job 8:13; Ps 9:19) 29 Der Weg des HERRN ist des Frommen Zuflucht; aber für die Übeltäter ist er Verderben. (Pr 3:26) 30 Der Gerechte wird nimmermehr wanken; aber die Frevler werden nicht im Lande bleiben. (Pr 2:22) 31 Aus dem Munde des Gerechten sprießt Weisheit; aber die falsche Zunge wird ausgerottet. (Ps 37:30) 32 Die Lippen der Gerechten wissen, was wohlgefällt; aber der Mund des Frevlers weiß Dinge zu verdrehen.

Le méchant et le juste

1 Proverbes de Salomon. Un fils sage fait la joie d'un père, et un fils stupide le chagrin de sa mère. 2 Les trésors acquis par la méchanceté ne sont d'aucun profit, mais la justice délivre de la mort. 3 L'Eternel ne laisse pas le juste souffrir de la faim, mais il repousse l'avidité des méchants. 4 Celui qui agit avec nonchalance s'appauvrit, mais la main des personnes actives est source de richesse. 5 Celui qui moissonne pendant l'été est un fils avisé, celui qui dort pendant la moisson est un fils qui fait honte. 6 Les bénédictions reposent sur la tête du juste, mais la violence accompagne tout ce que disent les méchants. 7 Le souvenir du juste est en bénédiction, tandis que le nom des méchants tombe en pourriture. 8 L'homme au cœur sage fait bon accueil aux commandements, mais celui qui parle comme un fou court à sa perte. 9 Celui qui marche dans l'intégrité marche en sécurité, mais celui qui emprunte des voies tortueuses sera découvert. 10 Celui qui cligne de l'œil est cause de souffrance, et celui qui parle comme un fou court à sa perte. 11 La bouche du juste est une source de vie, mais la violence accompagne tout ce que disent les méchants. 12 La haine fait surgir des conflits, alors que l'amour couvre toutes les fautes^[1]. (Jas 5:20; 1Pe 4:8) 13 On trouve la sagesse sur les lèvres de l'homme intelligent, mais le bâton sur le dos de celui qui est dépourvu de bon sens. 14 Les sages retiennent la connaissance, mais quand un fou parle, la ruine est proche. 15 La fortune du riche est sa ville fortifiée, mais ce qui fait la ruine des faibles, c'est leur pauvreté. 16 Le salaire du juste sert à la vie, le revenu du méchant sert au péché. 17 Celui qui garde l'instruction prend le chemin de la vie, mais celui qui délaisse l'avertissement s'égare. 18 Celui qui dissimule de la haine a des lèvres menteuses, et celui qui propage des racontars est stupide. 19 Celui qui parle beaucoup ne manque pas de pécher, mais celui qui met un frein à ses lèvres est un homme avisé. 20 La langue du juste est un argent affiné, mais le cœur des méchants ne vaut pas grand-chose. 21 Par ses lèvres, le juste est le berger d'un grand nombre, tandis que les fous meurent par manque de bon sens. 22 C'est la bénédiction de l'Eternel qui enrichit, et il ne la fait suivre d'aucun chagrin^[2]. 23 Commettre le crime paraît un jeu à l'homme stupide, mais la sagesse appartient à l'homme intelligent. 24 Ce que redoute le méchant, c'est ce qui lui arrive, tandis que les justes reçoivent ce qu'ils désirent. 25 Quand la tempête passe, le méchant disparaît, tandis que le juste a un fondement éternel. 26 Ce que le vinaigre est pour les dents et la fumée pour les yeux, le paresseux l'est pour celui qui l'envoie. 27 La crainte de l'Eternel prolonge la vie, tandis que les années des méchants sont abrégées. 28 L'espérance des justes, c'est la joie, tandis que l'attente des méchants meurt avec eux. 29 La voie de l'Eternel est un rempart pour l'intégrité, mais elle provoque la ruine de ceux qui commettent l'injustice. 30 Le juste ne sera jamais ébranlé, tandis que les méchants n'habiteront pas le pays. 31 La bouche du juste a pour fruit la sagesse, mais la langue perverse sera coupée. 32 Les lèvres du juste connaissent la grâce, et la bouche des méchants la perversité.
