Consecration of Aaron and His Sons

1 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments and the anointing oil and the bull of the sin offering and the two rams and the basket of unleavened bread. (Ex 28:2; Ex 30:23) 3 And assemble all the congregation at the entrance of the tent of meeting.” 4 And Moses did as the Lord commanded him, and the congregation was assembled at the entrance of the tent of meeting. 5 And Moses said to the congregation, “This is the thing that the Lord has commanded to be done.” (Ex 29:4) 6 And Moses brought Aaron and his sons and washed them with water. 7 And he put the coat on him and tied the sash around his waist and clothed him with the robe and put the ephod on him and tied the skillfully woven band of the ephod around him, binding it to him with the band.^[1] (Ex 28:4) 8 And he placed the breastpiece on him, and in the breastpiece he put the Urim and the Thummim. (Ex 28:30) 9 And he set the turban on his head, and on the turban, in front, he set the golden plate, the holy crown, as the Lord commanded Moses. (Ex 28:36; Le 8:7; Le 21:12) 10 Then Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it, and consecrated them. (Ex 30:26) 11 And he sprinkled some of it on the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all its utensils and the basin and its stand, to consecrate them. 12 And he poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron’s head and anointed him to consecrate him. 13 And Moses brought Aaron’s sons and clothed them with coats and tied sashes around their waists and bound caps on them, as the Lord commanded Moses. 14 Then he brought the bull of the sin offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the bull of the sin offering. (Le 4:4; Eze 43:19) 15 And he^[2] killed it, and Moses took the blood, and with his finger put it on the horns of the altar around it and purified the altar and poured out the blood at the base of the altar and consecrated it to make atonement for it. 16 And he took all the fat that was on the entrails and the long lobe of the liver and the two kidneys with their fat, and Moses burned them on the altar. (Le 3:4; Le 4:8) 17 But the bull and its skin and its flesh and its dung he burned up with fire outside the camp, as the Lord commanded Moses. (Le 4:11) 18 Then he presented the ram of the burnt offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram. (Le 8:2) 19 And he killed it, and Moses threw the blood against the sides of the altar. 20 He cut the ram into pieces, and Moses burned the head and the pieces and the fat. (Le 1:8) 21 He washed the entrails and the legs with water, and Moses burned the whole ram on the altar. It was a burnt offering with a pleasing aroma, a food offering for the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses. 22 Then he presented the other ram, the ram of ordination, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram. (Le 8:2) 23 And he killed it, and Moses took some of its blood and put it on the lobe of Aaron’s right ear and on the thumb of his right hand and on the big toe of his right foot. (Le 14:14) 24 Then he presented Aaron’s sons, and Moses put some of the blood on the lobes of their right ears and on the thumbs of their right hands and on the big toes of their right feet. And Moses threw the blood against the sides of the altar. 25 Then he took the fat and the fat tail and all the fat that was on the entrails and the long lobe of the liver and the two kidneys with their fat and the right thigh, 26 and out of the basket of unleavened bread that was before the Lord he took one unleavened loaf and one loaf of bread with oil and one wafer and placed them on the pieces of fat and on the right thigh. 27 And he put all these in the hands of Aaron and in the hands of his sons and waved them as a wave offering before the Lord. 28 Then Moses took them from their hands and burned them on the altar with the burnt offering. This was an ordination offering with a pleasing aroma, a food offering to the Lord. 29 And Moses took the breast and waved it for a wave offering before the Lord. It was Moses’ portion of the ram of ordination, as the Lord commanded Moses. 30 Then Moses took some of the anointing oil and of the blood that was on the altar and sprinkled it on Aaron and his garments, and also on his sons and his sons’ garments. So he consecrated Aaron and his garments, and his sons and his sons’ garments with him. (Ex 30:30; Nu 3:3) 31 And Moses said to Aaron and his sons, “Boil the flesh at the entrance of the tent of meeting, and there eat it and the bread that is in the basket of ordination offerings, as I commanded, saying, ‘Aaron and his sons shall eat it.’ 32 And what remains of the flesh and the bread you shall burn up with fire. 33 And you shall not go outside the entrance of the tent of meeting for seven days, until the days of your ordination are completed, for it will take seven days to ordain you. (Eze 43:25) 34 As has been done today, the Lord has commanded to be done to make atonement for you. 35 At the entrance of the tent of meeting you shall remain day and night for seven days, performing what the Lord has charged, so that you do not die, for so I have been commanded.” (Nu 3:7; Nu 9:19; De 11:1; 1Ki 2:3; Zec 3:7)

1 Und der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach: (Ex 29:1) 2 Nimm Aaron und seine Söhne und die Kleider und das Salböl und den jungen Stier zum Sündopfer, die beiden Widder und den Korb mit ungesäuertem Brot (Ex 28:39) 3 und versammle die ganze Gemeinde vor dem Eingang der Stiftshütte. 4 Mose tat, wie ihm der HERR geboten hatte, und versammelte die Gemeinde am Eingang der Stiftshütte 5 und sprach zu ihnen: Dies ist’s, was der HERR geboten hat zu tun. 6 Und Mose ließ herzutreten Aaron und seine Söhne und wusch sie mit Wasser 7 und legte ihm das leinene Gewand an und gürtete ihn mit dem Gürtel und zog ihm das Obergewand an und tat ihm den Priesterschurz um und gürtete ihn mit dem Gurt des Schurzes. 8 Dann tat er ihm die Brusttasche an und legte in die Tasche die Lose »Licht und Recht« (Ex 28:30) 9 und setzte ihm den Kopfbund auf sein Haupt und befestigte an dem Kopfbund vorn das goldene Stirnblatt, den heiligen Reif, wie der HERR es Mose geboten hatte. (Ex 28:36; Ex 39:30) 10 Und Mose nahm das Salböl und salbte das Heiligtum und alles, was darin war, und weihte es; (Ex 30:25) 11 er sprengte damit siebenmal an den Altar und salbte den Altar mit all seinem Gerät und das Becken mit seinem Gestell, dass alles geweiht würde. 12 Und er goss von dem Salböl auf Aarons Haupt und salbte ihn, dass er geweiht würde, 13 und brachte herzu Aarons Söhne und zog ihnen das leinene Gewand an und gürtete sie mit dem Gürtel und setzte ihnen Priesterhüte auf, wie ihm der HERR geboten hatte. 14 Und er ließ herzuführen den Stier zum Sündopfer. Und Aaron und seine Söhne legten ihre Hände auf seinen Kopf. (Le 4:1) 15 Und man schlachtete ihn, und Mose nahm das Blut und tat es mit seinem Finger ringsum auf die Hörner des Altars und entsündigte den Altar und goss das Blut an den Fuß des Altars und weihte ihn, indem er ihn entsühnte. 16 Und er nahm alles Fett am Eingeweide, den Lappen an der Leber und die beiden Nieren mit dem Fett daran und ließ es in Rauch aufgehen auf dem Altar. 17 Aber den Stier mit seinem Fell, dem Fleisch und dem Kot verbrannte er mit Feuer draußen vor dem Lager, wie ihm der HERR geboten hatte. 18 Und er brachte herzu den einen Widder zum Brandopfer. Und Aaron und seine Söhne legten ihre Hände auf seinen Kopf. (Le 1:10) 19 Und man schlachtete ihn, und Mose sprengte das Blut ringsum an den Altar, 20 zerlegte den Widder in seine Stücke und ließ den Kopf, die Stücke und das Fett in Rauch aufgehen 21 und wusch die Eingeweide und Schenkel mit Wasser und ließ dann den ganzen Widder in Rauch aufgehen auf dem Altar. Das war ein Brandopfer zum lieblichen Geruch, ein Feueropfer für den HERRN, wie ihm der HERR geboten hatte. 22 Er brachte auch herzu den andern Widder zum Einsetzungsopfer. Und Aaron und seine Söhne legten ihre Hände auf seinen Kopf. 23 Und man schlachtete ihn, und Mose nahm von seinem Blut und tat es Aaron auf sein rechtes Ohrläppchen und auf den Daumen seiner rechten Hand und auf die große Zehe seines rechten Fußes. 24 Und er brachte herzu Aarons Söhne und tat von dem Blut auf ihr rechtes Ohrläppchen und auf den Daumen ihrer rechten Hand und auf die große Zehe ihres rechten Fußes und sprengte das Blut ringsum an den Altar. (Le 17:11) 25 Und er nahm das Fett und den Fettschwanz und alles Fett am Eingeweide und den Lappen an der Leber, die beiden Nieren mit dem Fett daran und die rechte Keule; 26 dazu nahm er von dem Korb mit dem ungesäuerten Brot, der vor dem HERRN stand, einen ungesäuerten Kuchen und einen Brotkuchen mit Öl und einen Fladen und legte es auf das Fett und auf die rechte Keule. 27 Und er legte das alles auf die Hände Aarons und seiner Söhne und schwang es als Schwingopfer vor dem HERRN 28 und nahm alles wieder von ihren Händen und ließ es in Rauch aufgehen auf dem Altar, oben auf dem Brandopfer. Das war ein Einsetzungsopfer zum lieblichen Geruch, ein Feueropfer für den HERRN. 29 Und Mose nahm die Brust und schwang sie als ein Schwingopfer vor dem HERRN; die erhielt Mose als seinen Anteil an dem Widder des Einsetzungsopfers, wie ihm der HERR geboten hatte. 30 Und Mose nahm von dem Salböl und dem Blut auf dem Altar und sprengte es auf Aaron und seine Kleider, auf seine Söhne und ihre Kleider; so weihte er Aaron und seine Kleider, seine Söhne und ihre Kleider. 31 Und Mose sprach zu Aaron und seinen Söhnen: Kocht das Fleisch vor dem Eingang der Stiftshütte und esst es daselbst, dazu auch das Brot im Korbe des Einsetzungsopfers, wie ich es geboten habe, dass es Aaron und seine Söhne essen sollen. 32 Was aber übrig bleibt vom Fleisch und Brot, das sollt ihr mit Feuer verbrennen. 33 Und ihr sollt sieben Tage lang nicht weggehen von dem Eingang der Stiftshütte, bis die Tage eures Einsetzungsopfers um sind; denn sieben Tage sollen eure Hände gefüllt werden. 34 Wie es am heutigen Tage geschehen ist, so hat der HERR geboten zu tun, auf dass ihr entsühnt werdet. 35 Und ihr sollt vor dem Eingang der Stiftshütte Tag und Nacht bleiben sieben Tage lang und sollt nach dem Gebot des HERRN tun, dass ihr nicht sterbt; denn so ist es mir geboten. 36 Und Aaron und seine Söhne taten alles, was der HERR durch Mose geboten hatte.

1 L'Eternel dit à Moïse: 2 «Prends Aaron et ses fils avec lui, les vêtements, l'huile d'onction, le taureau expiatoire, les deux béliers et la corbeille de pains sans levain, 3 et convoque toute l'assemblée à l'entrée de la tente de la rencontre.» 4 Moïse fit ce que l'Eternel lui avait ordonné et l'assemblée se réunit à l'entrée de la tente de la rencontre. 5 Moïse dit à l'assemblée: «Voici ce que l'Eternel a ordonné de faire.» 6 Il fit approcher Aaron et ses fils, et il les lava avec de l'eau. 7 Il mit la tunique à Aaron, lui passa la ceinture, l'habilla de la robe et plaça sur lui l'éphod^[1], qu'il serra avec l'écharpe de l'éphod dont il l'habilla. 8 Il lui mit le pectoral^[2], dans lequel il plaça l'urim et le thummim^[3]. 9 Il posa la tiare sur sa tête et plaça sur le devant de la tiare la lame d'or, le diadème sacré, comme l'Eternel le lui avait ordonné. 10 Moïse prit l'huile d'onction. Il en versa sur le sanctuaire et tout ce qui s'y trouvait, et ainsi il le consacra. 11 Il aspergea sept fois l'autel d'huile, il versa de l'huile sur l'autel et tous ses ustensiles, ainsi que sur la cuve avec sa base, afin de les consacrer. 12 Il versa de l'huile d'onction sur la tête d'Aaron, il lui fit cette onction afin de le consacrer. 13 Moïse fit aussi approcher les fils d'Aaron; il les habilla de tuniques, leur passa des ceintures et leur attacha des coiffes comme l'Eternel le lui avait ordonné. 14 Il fit approcher le taureau expiatoire, et Aaron et ses fils posèrent leurs mains sur sa tête. 15 Moïse l'égorgea, prit du sang et en mit avec son doigt sur les cornes du pourtour de l'autel pour le purifier. Il versa le sang au pied de l'autel pour le consacrer en vue d'y faire l'expiation. 16 Il prit toute la graisse qui couvre les entrailles, le grand lobe du foie et les deux rognons avec leur graisse, et il brûla cela sur l'autel. 17 Mais il brûla dans un feu à l'extérieur du camp le taureau, sa peau, sa viande et ses excréments, comme l'Eternel le lui avait ordonné. 18 Il fit approcher le bélier de l'holocauste, et Aaron et ses fils posèrent leurs mains sur sa tête. 19 Moïse l'égorgea et versa le sang sur le pourtour de l'autel. 20 Il coupa le bélier par morceaux et brûla la tête, les morceaux et la graisse. 21 Il lava avec de l'eau les entrailles et les pattes, et il brûla tout le bélier sur l'autel. Ce fut l'holocauste, un sacrifice brûlé au feu dont l'odeur fut agréable à l'Eternel, comme l'Eternel l'avait ordonné à Moïse. 22 Il fit approcher l'autre bélier, le bélier de consécration, et Aaron et ses fils posèrent leurs mains sur sa tête. 23 Moïse égorgea le bélier, prit de son sang et en mit sur le lobe de l'oreille droite d'Aaron, sur le pouce de sa main droite et sur le gros orteil de son pied droit. 24 Il fit approcher les fils d'Aaron, mit du sang sur le lobe de leur oreille droite, sur le pouce de leur main droite et sur le gros orteil de leur pied droit, et il versa le sang sur le pourtour de l'autel. 25 Il prit la graisse, la queue, toute la graisse qui couvre les entrailles, le grand lobe du foie, les deux rognons avec leur graisse et la cuisse droite; 26 il prit aussi dans la corbeille de pains sans levain placée devant l'Eternel un gâteau sans levain, un gâteau de pain à l'huile et une galette, et il les posa sur les graisses et sur la cuisse droite. 27 Il mit tous ces éléments sur les mains d'Aaron et sur celles de ses fils, et il fit le geste de présentation devant l'Eternel. 28 Puis il les retira de leurs mains et les brûla sur l'autel, par-dessus l'holocauste. Ce fut le sacrifice de consécration, un sacrifice passé par le feu dont l'odeur fut agréable à l'Eternel. 29 Moïse prit la poitrine du bélier de consécration et fit avec elle le geste de présentation devant l'Eternel. Ce fut la portion de Moïse, comme l'Eternel le lui avait ordonné. 30 Moïse prit de l'huile d'onction et du sang qui était sur l'autel et en aspergea Aaron et ses vêtements, de même que les fils d'Aaron et leurs vêtements. C'est ainsi qu'il consacra Aaron et ses vêtements, de même que les fils d'Aaron et leurs vêtements. 31 Moïse dit à Aaron et à ses fils: «Faites cuire la viande à l'entrée de la tente de la rencontre; c'est là que vous la mangerez, avec le pain qui est dans la corbeille de consécration, comme je l'ai ordonné en disant: ‘Aaron et ses descendants la mangeront.’ 32 Vous brûlerez dans le feu ce qui restera de la viande et du pain. 33 Pendant 7 jours, vous ne sortirez pas de l'entrée de la tente de la rencontre, jusqu'à ce que prenne fin la période de votre entrée en fonction. En effet, 7 jours seront employés à vous établir dans vos fonctions. 34 Ce qui s'est fait aujourd'hui, l'Eternel a ordonné de le faire comme expiation pour vous. 35 Vous resterez donc 7 jours à l'entrée de la tente de la rencontre, jour et nuit, vous respecterez les commandements de l'Eternel. Ainsi vous ne mourrez pas, car c'est l'ordre que j'ai reçu.» 36 Aaron et ses fils firent tout ce que l'Eternel avait ordonné par l'intermédiaire de Moïse.
