1“At that time the Lord said to me, ‘Cut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and come up to me on the mountain and make an ark of wood. (Ex 25:10; Ex 34:1)2And I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets that you broke, and you shall put them in the ark.’ (Ex 25:16; Ex 25:21)3So I made an ark of acacia wood, and cut two tablets of stone like the first, and went up the mountain with the two tablets in my hand. (Ex 25:10; Ex 34:4; Ex 37:1)4And he wrote on the tablets, in the same writing as before, the Ten Commandments[1] that the Lord had spoken to you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly. Circumcise Your Heart
12“And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, (De 5:33; De 6:2; De 6:5; De 6:13; Mic 6:8)13and to keep the commandments and statutes of the Lord, which I am commanding you today for your good? (De 6:24; De 7:11)14Behold, to the Lord your God belong heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth with all that is in it. (Ex 19:5; 1Ki 8:27; 2Ch 6:18; Ne 9:6; Ps 24:1; Ps 115:16; Isa 66:1)15Yet the Lord set his heart in love on your fathers and chose their offspring after them, you above all peoples, as you are this day. (De 4:37; De 7:7)16Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no longer stubborn. (De 9:6; De 30:6; Jer 4:4; Ac 7:51)17For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who is not partial and takes no bribe. He is your God, who has done for you these great and terrifying things that your eyes have seen. (2Sa 7:23; Ps 22:3; Ps 106:21; Ps 109:1; Jer 17:14)22Your fathers went down to Egypt seventy persons, and now the Lord your God has made you as numerous as the stars of heaven. 1Zu derselben Zeit sprach der HERR zu mir: Haue dir zwei steinerne Tafeln zu wie die ersten und komm zu mir auf den Berg und mache dir eine hölzerne Lade, (Ex 25:10; Ex 34:1)2so will ich auf die Tafeln die Worte schreiben, die auf den ersten waren, die du zerbrochen hast; und du sollst sie in die Lade legen. (Ex 32:19)3So machte ich eine Lade aus Akazienholz und hieb zwei steinerne Tafeln zu, wie die ersten waren, und ging auf den Berg und hatte die beiden Tafeln in meinen Händen.4Da schrieb er auf die Tafeln, wie die erste Schrift war, die Zehn Worte, die der HERR zu euch geredet hatte mitten aus dem Feuer auf dem Berge zur Zeit der Versammlung; und der HERR gab sie mir.5Und ich wandte mich und ging vom Berge herab und legte die Tafeln in die Lade, die ich gemacht hatte, und sie blieben darin, wie mir der HERR geboten hatte. (Ex 25:21)
Aarons Tod. Aussonderung der Leviten
6Und die Israeliten zogen aus von Beerot-Bene-Jaakan nach Moser. Dort starb Aaron und wurde daselbst begraben. Und sein Sohn Eleasar wurde Priester an seiner statt. (Nu 20:28; Nu 33:31; Nu 33:37)7Von da zogen sie aus nach Gudgoda, von Gudgoda nach Jotbata, in ein Land mit Wasserbächen.8Zur selben Zeit sonderte der HERR den Stamm Levi aus, die Lade des Bundes des HERRN zu tragen und zu stehen vor dem HERRN, ihm zu dienen und in seinem Namen zu segnen bis auf diesen Tag. (Nu 6:23; De 18:5)9Darum erhielt Levi weder Anteil noch Erbe mit seinen Brüdern. Denn der HERR ist sein Erbteil, wie der HERR, dein Gott, es ihm zugesagt hat. (Nu 18:20)
Was der Herr von Israel fordert
10Ich aber stand auf dem Berge wie das erste Mal, vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte, und der HERR erhörte mich auch diesmal und wollte dich nicht verderben. (De 9:9)11Er sprach zu mir: Mach dich auf, geh hin und zieh vor dem Volk her, damit sie hineinkommen und das Land einnehmen, das ich ihnen geben will, wie ich ihren Vätern geschworen habe. (De 6:3)12Nun, Israel, was fordert der HERR, dein Gott, noch von dir, als dass du den HERRN, deinen Gott, fürchtest, dass du in allen seinen Wegen wandelst und ihn liebst und dem HERRN, deinem Gott, dienst von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele, (Mic 6:8)13dass du die Gebote des HERRN hältst und seine Rechte, die ich dir heute gebiete, auf dass dir’s wohlgehe?14Siehe, der Himmel und aller Himmel Himmel und die Erde und alles, was darinnen ist, das ist des HERRN, deines Gottes.15Und doch hat er nur deine Väter angenommen, dass er sie liebte, und hat ihre Nachkommen, nämlich euch, erwählt aus allen Völkern, so wie es heute ist. (De 7:6)16So beschneidet nun die Vorhaut eurer Herzen und seid hinfort nicht halsstarrig. (De 30:6; Jer 4:4)17Denn der HERR, euer Gott, ist der Gott aller Götter und der Herr über alle Herren, der große Gott, der Mächtige und der Schreckliche, der die Person nicht ansieht und kein Geschenk nimmt18und schafft Recht den Waisen und Witwen und hat die Fremdlinge lieb, dass er ihnen Speise und Kleider gibt.19Darum sollt ihr auch die Fremdlinge lieben; denn ihr seid auch Fremdlinge gewesen in Ägyptenland. (Ex 22:20)20Den HERRN, deinen Gott, sollst du fürchten, ihm sollst du dienen, ihm sollst du anhangen und bei seinem Namen schwören.21Er ist dein Ruhm, und er ist dein Gott, der bei dir solche großen und schrecklichen Dinge getan hat, die deine Augen gesehen haben.22Deine Väter zogen hinab nach Ägypten mit siebzig Seelen; aber nun hat dich der HERR, dein Gott, zahlreich gemacht wie die Sterne am Himmel. (Ge 46:27; De 1:10)

Tu feras aussi un coffre en bois.2J'écrirai sur ces tables les paroles qui étaient sur les premières tables que tu as brisées et tu les mettras dans le coffre.’3J'ai fait un coffre en bois d'acacia, j'ai taillé deux tables de pierre pareilles aux premières et je suis monté sur la montagne, les deux tables dans la main.4L'Eternel a écrit sur les tables ce qui avait été écrit sur les premières, les dix paroles qu'il vous avait dites sur la montagne, du milieu du feu, le jour de l'assemblée, et il me les a données.5Je suis reparti et je suis descendu de la montagne. J'ai mis les tables dans le coffre que j'avais fait et elles sont restées là, comme l'Eternel me l'avait ordonné.6»Les Israélites sont partis de Beéroth-Bené-Jaakan pour Moséra. C'est là qu'est mort Aaron et qu'il a été enterré. Eléazar, son fils, lui a succédé en tant que grand-prêtre.7Ils sont partis de là pour Gudgoda, et de Gudgoda pour Jothbatha, région où il y a des cours d'eau.8C'est à cette époque-là que l'Eternel a mis à part la tribu de Lévi et lui a ordonné de porter l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel, de se tenir devant l'Eternel pour le servir et de bénir le peuple en son nom. C'est ce qu'elle a fait jusqu'à aujourd'hui.9Voilà pourquoi Lévi n'a ni part ni héritage avec ses frères; l'Eternel est son héritage, comme l'Eternel, ton Dieu, le lui a dit.10»Je suis resté sur la montagne, comme précédemment, 40 jours et 40 nuits. L'Eternel m'a exaucé encore cette fois: il n'a pas voulu te détruire.11L'Eternel m'a dit: ‘Lève-toi, va marcher à la tête du peuple. Qu'ils aillent prendre possession du pays que j'ai juré à leurs ancêtres de leur donner.’
Appel à obéir à Dieu
12»Maintenant, Israël, que demande de toi l'Eternel, ton Dieu? N'est-ce pas que tu craignes l'Eternel, ton Dieu, afin de marcher dans toutes ses voies, que tu aimes et serves l'Eternel, ton Dieu, de tout ton cœur et de toute ton âme,13que tu respectes les commandements de l'Eternel et ses prescriptions que je te donne aujourd'hui, afin d'être heureux?14Voici, c'est à l'Eternel, ton Dieu, qu'appartiennent le ciel et les cieux des cieux, la terre et tout ce qu'elle contient,15et c'est à tes ancêtres seulement que l'Eternel s'est attaché pour les aimer. Après eux, c'est leur descendance, c'est vous qu'il a choisis parmi tous les peuples, comme vous le voyez aujourd'hui.16Circoncisez donc votre cœur et ne vous montrez plus réfractaires.17En effet, l'Eternel, votre Dieu, est le Dieu des dieux, le Seigneur des seigneurs, le Dieu grand, fort et redoutable. Il ne fait pas de favoritisme et n'accepte pas de pot-de-vin,18il fait droit à l'orphelin et à la veuve, il aime l'étranger et lui donne de la nourriture et des vêtements.19Vous aimerez l'étranger, car vous avez été étrangers en Egypte.20C'est l'Eternel, ton Dieu, que tu craindras, c'est lui que tu serviras, c'est à lui que tu t'attacheras et c'est par son nom que tu prêteras serment.21Il est ta gloire, il est ton Dieu. C'est lui qui a fait au milieu de toi les actes grands et redoutables que tes yeux ont vus.22Tes ancêtres étaient au nombre de 70 lorsqu'ils sont descendus en Egypte, et maintenant l'Eternel, ton Dieu, a fait de toi une multitude aussi nombreuse que les étoiles du ciel.
