1Di Davide. Il Signore è la mia luce e la mia salvezza; di chi temerò? Il Signore è il baluardo della mia vita; di chi avrò paura?2Quando i malvagi, che mi sono avversari e nemici, mi hanno assalito per divorarmi, essi stessi hanno vacillato e sono caduti.3Se un esercito si accampasse contro di me, il mio cuore non avrebbe paura; se infuriasse la battaglia contro di me, anche allora sarei fiducioso.4Una cosa ho chiesto al Signore, e quella ricerco: abitare nella casa del Signore tutti i giorni della mia vita, per contemplare la bellezza del Signore e meditare nel suo tempio.5Poiché egli mi nasconderà nella sua tenda in giorno di sventura, mi custodirà nel luogo più segreto della sua dimora, mi porterà in alto sopra una roccia.6E ora la mia testa s’innalza sui miei nemici che mi circondano.
