The King Rejoices in the Lord’s Strength

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.

1 O LORD, in your strength the king rejoices, and in your salvation how greatly he exults! (Ps 8:2; Ps 9:14; Ps 28:7; Ps 28:8)

5 His glory is great through your salvation; splendor and majesty you bestow on him. (Ps 8:5; Ps 45:3; Ps 96:6) 6 For you make him most blessed forever;^[1] you make him glad with the joy of your presence. (Ps 16:11; Ps 45:7) 7 For the king trusts in the LORD, and through the steadfast love of the Most High he shall not be moved. (Ps 10:6; Ps 16:8) 8 Your hand will find out all your enemies; your right hand will find out those who hate you. (Isa 10:10) 9 You will make them as a blazing oven when you appear. Gottes Hilfe für den König

1 Ein Psalm Davids, vorzusingen. 2 HERR, der König freut sich in deiner Kraft, und wie sehr fröhlich ist er über deine Hilfe! 3 Du erfüllst ihm seines Herzens Wunsch und verweigerst nicht, was sein Mund bittet. Sela. (Ps 20:5; Ps 37:4) 4 Denn du überschüttest ihn mit gutem Segen, du setzest eine goldene Krone auf sein Haupt. 5 Er bittet dich um Leben; du gibst es ihm, langes Leben immer und ewiglich. (Ps 61:7) 6 Er hat große Herrlichkeit durch deine Hilfe; Pracht und Hoheit legst du auf ihn. 7 Denn du setzest ihn zum Segen ewiglich, du erfreust ihn mit Freude vor deinem Antlitz. 8 Denn der König hofft auf den HERRN und wird durch die Güte des Höchsten nicht wanken. 9 Deine Hand wird finden alle deine Feinde, deine Rechte wird finden, die dich hassen. 10 Du lässt sie glühen wie einen Feuerofen, wenn du erscheinst. Der HERR wird sie verschlingen in seinem Zorn; Feuer wird sie fressen. 11 Ihre Nachkommen wirst du tilgen vom Erdboden und ihre Kinder aus der Zahl der Menschen. 12 Denn sie gedachten, dir Übles zu tun, und planten Ränke, die sie nicht ausführen konnten. (Isa 8:10) 13 Denn du wirst machen, dass sie den Rücken kehren; mit deinem Bogen wirst du auf ihr Antlitz zielen. 14 HERR, erhebe dich in deiner Kraft, so wollen wir singen und loben deine Macht.

O Signore, il re si rallegra nella tua forza; oh, quanto esulta per la tua salvezza! 2 Tu hai soddisfatto il desiderio del suo cuore e non hai respinto la richiesta delle sue labbra. [Pausa] 3 Poiché tu gli sei venuto incontro con benedizioni eccellenti, gli hai posto in capo una corona d’oro finissimo. 4 Egli ti aveva chiesto vita, e tu gliel’hai data: lunghi giorni in eterno. 5 Grande è la sua gloria attraverso la tua salvezza. Tu lo rivesti di maestà e di magnificenza; 6 poiché lo ricolmi delle tue benedizioni per sempre, lo riempi di gioia in tua presenza. 7 Perciò il re confida nel Signore e, per la benevolenza dell’Altissimo, non sarà mai smosso. 8 La tua mano raggiungerà tutti i tuoi nemici; la tua destra colpirà quelli che ti odiano. 9 Tu li metterai come in una fornace ardente, quando apparirai; il Signore, nel suo sdegno, li inabisserà, e il fuoco li divorerà. 10 Tu farai sparire il loro frutto dalla terra e la loro discendenza tra i figli degli uomini; 11 perché hanno macchinato del male contro di te, hanno ideato malvagi progetti, che non potranno attuare; 12 poiché tu farai loro voltare le spalle, con il tuo arco mirerai diritto alla loro faccia. 13 Innàlzati, o Signore, con la tua forza; noi canteremo e celebreremo la tua potenza.
