The Lord Has Chosen Zion

A Song of Ascents.

1 Remember, O LORD, in David’s favor, all the hardships he endured, (1Ch 22:14) 2 how he swore to the LORD and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob, (Ge 49:24; Ps 50:14; Ps 132:5; Isa 49:26; Isa 60:16)

3 “I will not enter my house or get into my bed, 4 I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids, (Pr 6:4) 5 until I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.” (1Ch 22:7; Ps 2:1; Ac 7:46) 6 Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah; we found it in the fields of Jaar. 9 Let your priests be clothed with righteousness, and let your saints shout for joy. (Job 29:14; Ps 132:16; Ps 149:5) 10 For the sake of your servant David, do not turn away the face of your anointed one. Das Heiligtum auf dem Zion

1 Ein Wallfahrtslied. Gedenke, HERR, an David und all seine Mühsal, 2 der dem HERRN geschworen und gelobt hat dem Mächtigen Jakobs: 3 Ich will nicht in das Zelt meines Hauses gehen noch mich aufs Lager meines Bettes legen, (2Sa 7:2; Ac 7:46) 4 ich will meine Augen nicht schlafen lassen noch meine Augenlider schlummern, 5 bis ich eine Stätte finde für den HERRN, eine Wohnung für den Mächtigen Jakobs. 6 Siehe, wir hörten von ihr in Efrata, wir haben sie gefunden im Gefilde von Jaar. 7 Wir wollen in seine Wohnung gehen und anbeten vor dem Schemel seiner Füße. 8 HERR, mache dich auf zur Stätte deiner Ruhe, du und die Lade deiner Macht! (Nu 10:35; 2Ch 6:41; Ps 78:61) 9 Deine Priester lass sich kleiden mit Gerechtigkeit und deine Heiligen sich freuen. 10 Weise nicht ab das Antlitz deines Gesalbten um deines Knechtes David willen! 11 Der HERR hat David in Treue geschworen, davon wird er sich nicht wenden: Ich will auf deinen Thron setzen die Frucht deines Leibes. (Ps 89:4; Heb 6:17) 12 Werden deine Söhne meinen Bund halten und mein Zeugnis, das ich sie lehren werde, so sollen auch ihre Söhne auf deinem Thron sitzen ewiglich. 13 Denn der HERR hat Zion erwählt, und es gefällt ihm, dort zu wohnen. (Ps 68:17; Ps 76:3) 14 »Dies ist die Stätte meiner Ruhe ewiglich; hier will ich wohnen, denn es gefällt mir wohl. 15 Ich will ihre Speise segnen und ihren Armen Brot genug geben. 16 Ihre Priester will ich mit Heil kleiden, und ihre Heiligen sollen fröhlich sein. 17 Daselbst lasse ich aufgehen das Horn Davids, ich habe meinem Gesalbten eine Leuchte zugerichtet; (1Sa 2:10; 1Ki 11:36) 18 seine Feinde will ich in Schande kleiden, aber über ihm soll blühen seine Krone.«

Ricordo delle promesse di Dio a Davide

1 Canto dei pellegrinaggi. Ricòrdati, Signore, di Davide, di tutte le sue fatiche, 2 quando egli giurò al Signore e fece voto al Potente di Giacobbe, dicendo: 3 «Certo, non entrerò nella mia casa, né salirò sul mio letto; 4 non darò sonno ai miei occhi, né riposo alle mie palpebre, 5 finché abbia trovato un luogo per il Signore, una dimora per il Potente di Giacobbe». 6 Ecco, abbiamo saputo che l’arca era in Efrata: l’abbiamo trovata nei campi di Iaar. 7 Andiamo nella dimora del Signore, adoriamo davanti allo sgabello dei suoi piedi! 8 Àlzati, Signore, vieni al luogo del tuo riposo, tu e l’arca della tua potenza. 9 I tuoi sacerdoti siano rivestiti di giustizia, e gioiscano i tuoi fedeli. 10 Per amore di Davide, tuo servo, non respingere il volto del tuo unto. 11 Il Signore ha fatto a Davide questo giuramento di verità e non lo revocherà: «Io metterò sul tuo trono un tuo discendente. 12 Se i tuoi figli osserveranno il mio patto e la testimonianza che insegnerò loro, anche i loro figli staranno seduti per sempre sul tuo trono». 13 Poiché il Signore ha scelto Sion, l’ha desiderata per sua dimora. 14 «Questo è il mio luogo di riposo in eterno; qui abiterò, perché l’ho desiderata. 15 Io benedirò largamente le sue provviste, sazierò di pane i suoi poveri. 16 I suoi sacerdoti li rivestirò di salvezza e i suoi fedeli esulteranno di gran gioia. 17 Qua farò crescere la potenza di Davide e vi terrò accesa una lampada per il mio unto. 18 I suoi nemici li coprirò di vergogna, ma su di lui fiorirà la sua corona».
