Let Us Go to the House of the Lord

A Song of Ascents. Of David.

1 I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the LORD!” (Isa 2:3; Mic 4:2; Zec 8:21) 

2 Our feet have been standing within your gates, O Jerusalem! 

3 Jerusalem— built as a city that is bound firmly together, (Ne 4:6; Ps 147:2) 

4 to which the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, as was decreed for Israel, to give thanks to the name of the LORD. (De 16:16; Ps 78:5) 

5 There thrones for judgment were set, the thrones of the house of David. (De 17:8; 2Sa 15:2; 1Ki 3:16; 1Ki 7:7; 2Ch 19:8) 

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May they be secure who love you! (Ps 51:18; Jer 29:7) 

7 Peace be within your walls and security within your towers!” (Ps 48:13) 

8 For my brothers and companions’ sake I will say, “Peace be within you!” (1Sa 25:6; Ps 85:8) 

9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your good. (Ne 2:10; Es 10:3)

Ein Segenswunsch für Jerusalem

1 Von David, ein Wallfahrtslied. Ich freute mich über die, die mir sagten: Lasset uns ziehen zum Hause des HERRN! (Ps 26:8; Eze 48:35) 

2 Nun stehen unsere Füße in deinen Toren, Jerusalem. 

3 Jerusalem ist gebaut als eine Stadt, in der man zusammenkommen soll, 

4 wohin die Stämme hinaufziehen, die Stämme des HERRN, wie es geboten ist dem Volke Israel, zu preisen den Namen des HERRN. 

5 Denn dort stehen Throne zum Gericht, die Throne des Hauses David. 

6 Wünschet Jerusalem Frieden! Es möge wohlgehen denen, die dich lieben! 

7 Es möge Friede sein in deinen Mauern und Glück in deinen Palästen! (Zec 4:7) 

8 Um meiner Brüder und Freunde willen will ich dir Frieden wünschen. 

9 Um des Hauses des HERRN willen, unseres Gottes, will ich dein Bestes suchen.

Auguri di pace per Gerusalemme

1 Canto dei pellegrinaggi. Di Davide. Mi sono rallegrato quando mi hanno detto: «Andiamo alla casa del Signore». 

2 I nostri passi si sono fermati alle tue porte, o Gerusalemme; 

3 Gerusalemme, che sei costruita come una città ben compatta, 

4 dove salgono le tribù, le tribù del Signore, secondo la legge imposta a Israele, per celebrare il nome del Signore. 

5 Qua infatti furono eretti i troni per il giudizio, i troni della casa di Davide. 

6 Pregate per la pace di Gerusalemme! Quelli che ti amano vivano tranquilli. 

7 Ci sia pace all’interno delle tue mura e tranquillità nei tuoi palazzi! 

8 Per amore dei miei fratelli e dei miei amici, io dirò: «La pace sia dentro di te!» 

9 Per amore della casa del Signore, del nostro Dio, io cercherò il tuo bene.
