Psalm 5

Lead Me in Your Righteousness

To the choirmaster: for the flutes. A Psalm of David.

1 Give ear to my words, O LORD; consider my groaning. (Ps 39:3) 

2 Give attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to you do I pray. (Ps 65:2; Ps 84:3) 

3 O LORD, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch. (Ps 88:13; Ps 119:147; Ps 130:6; Hab 2:1) 

4 For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil may not dwell with you. 

5 The boastful shall not stand before your eyes; you hate all evildoers. (Ps 1:5; Ps 11:5; Ps 73:3; Ps 75:4; Hab 1:13) 

6 You destroy those who speak lies; the LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man. (Ps 4:2; Ps 55:23) 

7 But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love, will enter your house. I will bow down toward your holy temple in the fear of you. (1Ki 8:29; 1Ki 8:30; Ps 11:4; Ps 79:1; Ps 132:7) 

8 Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies; make your way straight before me. (Ezr 8:21; Ps 23:3; Ps 25:4; Ps 25:5) 

9 For there is no truth in their mouth; their inmost self is destruction; their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongue. (Ps 12:2; Ps 52:2; Pr 2:16; Pr 7:5; Jer 5:16; Ro 3:13) 

10 Make them bear their guilt, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; because of the abundance of their transgressions cast them out, for they have rebelled against you. (2Sa 15:31; 2Sa 17:14; 2Sa 17:23; Isa 24:6) 

11 But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. (1Sa 2:1; Ps 2:12; Ps 9:2; Ps 33:21) 

12 For you bless the righteous, O LORD; you cover him with favor as with a shield. (Ps 35:2; Ps 103:4; Ps 115:13)

1 Au chef des chantres. Avec les flûtes. Psaume de David. 

2 Prête l'oreille à mes paroles, ô Éternel! Écoute mes gémissements! 

3 Sois attentif à mes cris, mon roi et mon Dieu! C'est à toi que j'adresse ma prière. 

4 Éternel! le matin tu entends ma voix; Le matin je me tourne vers toi, et je regarde. 

5 Car tu n'es point un Dieu qui prenne plaisir au mal; Le méchant n'a pas sa demeure auprès de toi. 

6 Les insensés ne subsistent pas devant tes yeux; Tu hais tous ceux qui commettent l'iniquité. 

7 Tu fais périr les menteurs; L'Éternel abhorre les hommes de sang et de fraude. 

8 Mais moi, par ta grande miséricorde, je vais à ta maison, Je me prosterne dans ton saint temple avec crainte. 

9 Éternel! conduis-moi dans ta justice, à cause de mes ennemis, Aplanis ta voie sous mes pas. 

10 Car il n'y a point de sincérité dans leur bouche; Leur coeur est rempli de malice, Leur gosier est un sépulcre ouvert, Et ils ont sur la langue des paroles flatteuses. 

11 Frappe-les comme des coupables, ô Dieu! Que leurs desseins amènent leur chute! Précipite-les au milieu de leurs péchés sans nombre! Car ils se révoltent contre toi. 

12 Alors tous ceux qui se confient en toi se réjouiront, Ils auront de l'allégresse à toujours, et tu les protégeras; Tu seras un sujet de joie Pour ceux qui aiment ton nom. 

13 Car tu bénis le juste, ô Éternel! Tu l'entoures de ta grâce comme d'un bouclier.
