2 Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! (Ps 77:12) 3 Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice! 4 Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! 9 the covenant that he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac, (Ge 17:2; Ge 22:15; Ge 26:3) 10 which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant, (Ge 28:13; Ge 35:11) 11 saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan as your portion for an inheritance.” (Ge 13:15; Ge 15:18; Ps 78:55) 12 When they were few in number, of little account, and sojourners in it, (Ge 34:30; De 7:7; De 26:5; Heb 11:9)

18 His feet were hurt with fetters; his neck was put in a collar of iron; (Ge 39:20) 19 until what he had said came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him. (Ps 78:51) 37 Then he brought out Israel with silver and gold, and there was none among his tribes who stumbled. (Ex 12:35) 38 Egypt was glad when they departed, for dread of them had fallen upon it. Gott hält sein Versprechen

1 (Verse 1-15: 1 Chr 16,8-22) Dankt dem HERRN! Macht seinen Namen überall bekannt; verkündet allen Völkern, was er getan hat! (Ps 96:3) 2 Singt und spielt zu seiner Ehre, ruft euch seine Wunder ins Gedächtnis! 3 Seid stolz auf ihn, den heiligen Gott! Seid voller Freude über ihn, ihr, die ihr nach ihm fragt! 4 Geht zum HERRN, denn er ist mächtig; sucht seine Nähe zu aller Zeit! (Ps 27:8) 5 Erinnert euch an seine machtvollen Taten, an seine Wunder und Gerichtsurteile, 6 ihr Nachfahren seines Dieners Abraham, ihr Nachkommen Jakobs, ihr seine Erwählten! 7 Er ist unser Gott, er, der HERR, seine Herrschaft umschließt die ganze Welt. 8 Niemals vergisst er seinen Bund mit uns, sein Versprechen gilt tausend Generationen. (De 7:9) 9 So hat er es Abraham zugesagt und es Isaak mit einem Schwur bestätigt. (Ge 15:18; Ge 26:3) 10 So hat er es Jakob fest versprochen, als ewigen Bund mit Israel. (Ge 28:13) 11 Er hat gesagt: »Ich gebe euch ganz Kanaan, ich teile es euch zu als Erbbesitz.« 12 Sie waren damals leicht zu zählen, nur eine Hand voll Leute waren sie, eingewanderte Fremde im Land. 13 Sie zogen von einem Volk zum andern, auf Wanderschaft in vieler Herren Länder. (Ge 12:10; Ge 20:1) 14 Doch Gott ließ sie von niemand unterdrücken, ihretwegen warnte er die Herrscher: 15 »Hände weg von meinen berufenen Dienern! Krümmt meinen Propheten kein Haar!« (Ge 20:7) 16 Als er den Hunger ins Land kommen ließ und kein Brot mehr zu finden war, (Ge 37:12; Ge 39:19; Ge 41:1) 17 da schickte er ihnen jemand voraus: Josef wurde als Sklave verkauft. 18 Man zwängte seine Füße in eiserne Fesseln, ein eiserner Ring umschloss seinen Hals, 19 bis dann seine Voraussage sich erfüllte und das Wort des HERRN seine Unschuld erwies. (Ge 39:11; Ge 40:9) 20 Der König befahl, seine Fesseln zu lösen; der Herrscher vieler Völker gab ihm die Freiheit. 21 Er vertraute ihm die Regierung an, die Verwaltung seines ganzen Eigentums, 22 damit er den Ministern Weisung erteilte und die königlichen Ratgeber Weisheit lehrte. 23 Dann kam Jakob nach Ägypten, Israel wurde Gast im Land der Nachkommen Hams. (Ge 47:5) 24 Der HERR ließ das Volk sehr zahlreich werden und mächtiger als seine Unterdrücker. (Ex 1:6) 25 So änderte er den Sinn der Ägypter: Sie begannen, die Israeliten zu hassen und Gottes Diener arglistig zu täuschen. 26 Er sandte Mose, seinen Vertrauten, und Aaron, den er ausgewählt hatte. (Ex 2:1) 27 Sie vollbrachten die Wunder, die er angekündigt hatte, seine Machterweise im Land der Hamiten. (Ex 7:1) 28 Er schickte die schwärzeste Finsternis – diesmal widersprachen Mose und Aaron ihm nicht.^[1] 29 Die Gewässer der Ägypter verwandelte er in Blut und ließ ihre Fische darin sterben. 30 Es wimmelte überall von Fröschen, sogar in den königlichen Gemächern. 31 Auf seinen Befehl kam das Ungeziefer, Schwärme von Mücken bedeckten Ägypten. 32 Statt Regen schickte er ihnen Hagel, im ganzen Land flammten Blitze. 33 Ihre Weinstöcke und Feigenbäume zerschlug er, er zerbrach alle Bäume in ihrem Gebiet. 34 Ein Befehl von ihm, und die Heuschrecken kamen in Riesenscharen ohne Zahl. 35 Die ließen keinen Grashalm stehen und fraßen alle Felder kahl. 36 Zuletzt erschlug er die Erstgeborenen, den Stolz der ägyptischen Familien. (Ex 12:29) 37 Dann führte er die Seinen aus dem Land, beladen mit Schätzen von Silber und Gold; niemand aus ihren Stämmen blieb zurück. (Ex 12:35) 38 Ganz Ägypten war froh über ihren Auszug, so groß war die Angst vor diesem Volk. 39 Durch eine Wolke schützte sie der HERR und Feuer erhellte für sie die Nacht. (Ex 13:21; Ex 14:19) 40 Als sie ihn baten, ließ er Wachteln kommen, mit Brot vom Himmel machte er sie satt. (Ex 16:13; Ex 16:31) 41 Er öffnete den Felsen und Wasser kam hervor, wie ein Strom ergoss es sich durch die Wüste. (Ex 17:3) 42 Das tat er wegen seines heiligen Versprechens, das er seinem Diener Abraham gegeben hatte. (Ps 105:9) 43 Als er sein erwähltes Volk befreite, da sangen und jubelten sie vor Freude. 44 Er gab ihnen die Länder anderer Völker, der Ertrag fremder Arbeit wurde ihr Besitz, (Jos 24:11) 45 damit sie nun seinen Anordnungen folgen und seinen Weisungen gehorchen.
