1In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train[1] of his robe filled the temple. (1Ki 22:19)3Die Engel riefen einander zu: »Heilig, heilig, heilig ist der HERR, der Herrscher der Welt,[2] die ganze Erde bezeugt seine Macht!« (Isa 8:2; Isa 19:2; Isa 57:12; Re 4:8)4Von ihrem Rufen bebten die Fundamente des Tempels und das Haus füllte sich mit Rauch. (1Ki 8:10; Isa 4:5; Re 15:8)5Vor Angst schrie ich auf: »Ich bin verloren! Ich bin unwürdig, den HERRN zu preisen, und lebe unter einem Volk, das genauso unwürdig ist. Und ich habe den König gesehen, den Herrscher der Welt!« (Ex 33:20; Ps 24:3; Lu 5:8)6Da kam einer der mächtigen Engel zu mir geflogen. Er hatte eine glühende Kohle, die er mit der Zange vom Altar genommen hatte.7Damit berührte er meinen Mund und sagte: »Die Glut hat deine Lippen berührt. Jetzt bist du von deiner Schuld befreit, deine Sünde ist dir vergeben.«8Dann hörte ich, wie der Herr sagte: »Wen soll ich senden? Wer ist bereit, unser Bote zu sein?« Ich antwortete: »Ich bin bereit, sende mich!« (1Ki 22:20)9Da sagte er: »Geh und sag zu diesem Volk: ›Hört nur zu, ihr versteht doch nichts; seht hin, soviel ihr wollt, ihr erkennt doch nichts!‹ (Eze 3:6; Mt 13:14)10Rede zu ihnen, damit ihre Herzen verstockt werden, ihre Ohren verschlossen und ihre Augen verklebt, sodass sie mit ihren Augen nicht sehen, mit ihren Ohren nicht hören und mit ihrem Verstand nicht erkennen. Ich will nicht, dass sie zu mir umkehren und geheilt werden.«11»Wie lange soll das dauern, Herr?«, fragte ich. Der HERR antwortete: »Bis die Städte zerstört sind und die Häuser leer stehen und das ganze Land zur Wüste geworden ist.12Ich werde die Menschen fortschaffen und das Land wird leer und verlassen sein.13Und ist noch ein Zehntel übrig, so wird es ihnen gehen wie den Trieben, die aus dem Stumpf einer gefällten Eiche oder Terebinthe wachsen: Sie werden abgefressen!« Der Stumpf aber bleibt und aus dem Stumpf wird neues Leben sprossen zu Gottes Ehre.
