1 But the Lord said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for with a strong hand he will send them out, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land.” (Ex 3:19; Ex 11:1; Ex 12:33; Ex 12:39; Ex 13:3) 2 God spoke to Moses and said to him, “I am the Lord. (Isa 42:8; Mal 3:6) 3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty,[1] but by my name the Lord I did not make myself known to them. (Ge 17:1; Ps 68:4; Ps 83:18; Joh 8:58; Re 1:4; Re 1:8) 4 I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they lived as sojourners. (Ge 15:18; Ge 17:4; Ge 17:7; Ge 17:8; Ge 28:4) 5 Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the people of Israel whom the Egyptians hold as slaves, and I have remembered my covenant. (Ex 2:24) 6 Say therefore to the people of Israel, ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from slavery to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great acts of judgment. (Ex 3:17; Ex 7:4; Ex 15:13; De 7:8; De 26:8; 2Ki 17:36; 1Ch 17:21; Ne 1:10; Ps 136:11; Isa 42:8; Mal 3:6) 7 I will take you to be my people, and I will be your God, and you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who has brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. (Ge 17:8; Ex 6:6; Ex 29:45; Le 22:33; De 4:20; De 7:6; De 14:2; De 26:18; De 29:13; 2Sa 7:24; 1Pe 2:9; Re 21:7) 8 I will bring you into the land that I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. I will give it to you for a possession. I am the Lord.’” (Ge 14:22; Ge 15:18; Ge 26:3; Ge 28:13; Ge 35:12; Ex 6:6; Ex 32:13; De 32:40; Eze 20:5; Eze 20:6; Eze 20:42; Eze 47:14) 9 Moses spoke thus to the people of Israel, but they did not listen to Moses, because of their broken spirit and harsh slavery. (Ex 5:21; Ac 7:25) 10 So the Lord said to Moses, 11 “Go in, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the people of Israel go out of his land.” 12 But Moses said to the Lord, “Behold, the people of Israel have not listened to me. How then shall Pharaoh listen to me, for I am of uncircumcised lips?” (Ex 4:10; Ex 6:9; Ex 6:30; Jer 1:6; Jer 6:10; Eze 44:7) 13 But the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron and gave them a charge about the people of Israel and about Pharaoh king of Egypt: to bring the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt. 14 These are the heads of their fathers’ houses: the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi; these are the clans of Reuben. (Ge 46:9; 1Ch 5:3) 15 The sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul, the son of a Canaanite woman; these are the clans of Simeon. (Ge 46:10; 1Ch 4:24) 16 These are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari, the years of the life of Levi being 137 years. (Ge 46:11; Nu 3:17; 1Ch 6:1; 1Ch 6:16) 17 The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, by their clans. (Nu 3:18; 1Ch 6:17; 1Ch 23:7) 18 The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, the years of the life of Kohath being 133 years. (Nu 3:19; Nu 26:57; 1Ch 6:2; 1Ch 6:18) 19 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the clans of the Levites according to their generations. (Nu 3:20; 1Ch 6:19; 1Ch 23:21) 20 Amram took as his wife Jochebed his father’s sister, and she bore him Aaron and Moses, the years of the life of Amram being 137 years. (Ex 2:1) 21 The sons of Izhar: Korah, Nepheg, and Zichri. (Nu 16:1; 1Ch 6:37) 22 The sons of Uzziel: Mishael, Elzaphan, and Sithri. (Le 10:4; Nu 3:30) 23 Aaron took as his wife Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab and the sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. (Le 10:1; Nu 1:7; Nu 2:3; Nu 3:2; Nu 7:12; Nu 7:17; Nu 10:14; Nu 26:60; Ru 4:19; 1Ch 2:10; 1Ch 6:3; 1Ch 24:1; Mt 1:4; Lu 3:32; Lu 3:33) 24 The sons of Korah: Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph; these are the clans of the Korahites. (1Ch 6:22; 1Ch 6:37) 25 Eleazar, Aaron’s son, took as his wife one of the daughters of Putiel, and she bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites by their clans. (Nu 25:7; Nu 25:11; Jos 24:33; Ps 106:30) 26 These are the Aaron and Moses to whom the Lord said: “Bring out the people of Israel from the land of Egypt by their hosts.” (Ex 6:13; Ex 7:4; Ex 12:17; Ex 12:51; Nu 33:1) 27 It was they who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt about bringing out the people of Israel from Egypt, this Moses and this Aaron. 28 On the day when the Lord spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt, 29 the Lord said to Moses, “I am the Lord; tell Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say to you.” (Ex 6:2; Ex 6:11; Ex 7:2) 30 But Moses said to the Lord, “Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips. How will Pharaoh listen to me?” (Ex 6:12; Isa 6:5)

1 Darauf sagte der HERR zu Mose: »Jetzt wirst du erleben, was ich mit dem Pharao machen werde. Ich werde ihn zwingen, die Israeliten gehen zu lassen, ja, er wird sie sogar mit Gewalt aus seinem Land forttreiben.« (Ex 11:1; Ex 12:33) 2 Da sprach Gott zu Mose und sagte: »Ich bin der HERR. 3 Als Gott, der Gewaltige,[1] bin ich Abraham, Isaak und Jakob erschienen; aber unter meinem Namen ›der HERR‹ habe ich mich ihnen noch nicht zu erkennen gegeben. 4 Doch ich habe meinen Bund mit ihnen geschlossen und ihnen das Land Kanaan zugesagt, in dem sie als Fremde lebten. (Ge 12:7; Ex 2:24) 5 Ich habe das Schreien der Leute von Israel gehört, die von den Ägyptern zur Arbeit gezwungen werden. Deshalb will ich jetzt meine Zusage einlösen. 6 Richte deinem Volk aus: ›Ich bin der HERR! Ich werde euch aus dem Frondienst für die Ägypter wegholen und aus der Zwangsarbeit befreien, die sie euch auferlegt haben. Mit meinem ausgestreckten Arm werde ich euch retten und eure Unterdrücker hart bestrafen. 7 Ich will euch als mein Volk annehmen und will euer Gott sein. Dann werdet ihr erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin, euer Gott, der euch aus dem Frondienst für die Ägypter befreit. 8 Ich bringe euch in das Land, das ich Abraham, Isaak und Jakob mit einem Eid versprochen habe; ich gebe es euch, ihren Nachkommen, als bleibenden Besitz. Ich bin der HERR!‹« 9 Mose sagte dies alles den Israeliten, aber sie glaubten ihm nicht; sie waren zu erschöpft von der harten Arbeit und völlig entmutigt. 10 Da sagte der HERR zu Mose: 11 »Geh jetzt zum Pharao, dem König von Ägypten, und verlange, dass er das Volk Israel aus seinem Land ziehen lässt!« 12 Aber Mose erwiderte: »Nicht einmal die Leute von Israel haben mir geglaubt, wie sollte da der Pharao auf mich hören? Ich bin ja auch so unbeholfen im Reden.« (Ex 4:10) 13 Der HERR aber schickte Mose und Aaron von Neuem zu den Israeliten und zum Pharao, weil er sein Volk aus Ägypten herausführen wollte. 14 Hier ist die Liste der Sippenhäupter des Volkes Israel: Die Nachkommen Rubens, des erstgeborenen Sohnes Jakobs,[2] gliederten sich in die Sippen seiner Söhne Henoch, Pallu, Hezron und Karmi, (Ge 46:8) 15 die Nachkommen Simeons in die Sippen seiner Söhne Jemuël, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar und Schaul – Schaul war der Sohn einer Kanaaniterin –, 16 und die Nachkommen Levis in die Sippen seiner Söhne Gerschon, Kehat und Merari. Levi selbst war 137 Jahre alt geworden. (Nu 3:17; 1Ch 5:27; 1Ch 6:1) 17 Die Sippe seines Sohnes Gerschon gliederte sich in die Familien von dessen Söhnen Libni und Schimi, 18 die Sippe seines Sohnes Kehat in die Familien von dessen Söhnen Amram, Jizhar, Hebron und Usiël – Kehat wurde 133 Jahre alt –, 19 und die Sippe seines Sohnes Merari in die Familien von dessen Söhnen Machli und Muschi. 20 Kehats Sohn Amram heiratete Jochebed, die Schwester seines Vaters. Sie gebar ihm die beiden Söhne Aaron und Mose. Amram wurde 137 Jahre alt. (Ex 2:1) 21 Kehats Sohn Jizhar hatte drei Söhne: Korach, Nefeg und Sichri, 22 und sein Sohn Usiël hatte ebenfalls drei Söhne: Mischaël, Elizafan und Sitri. 23 Aaron heiratete Elischeba, eine Tochter Amminadabs und Schwester Nachschons. Sie gebar ihm die vier Söhne Nadab und Abihu, Eleasar und Itamar. 24 Korach hatte drei Söhne, nach denen sich die Familien der Korachiten benennen: Assir, Elkana und Abiasaf. 25 Aarons Sohn Eleasar heiratete eine Tochter Putiëls, die ihm einen Sohn namens Pinhas gebar. Damit sind alle Familienhäupter der Leviten aufgezählt. 26 Aaron und Mose, die dabei genannt wurden, sind eben die, denen der HERR befohlen hatte: »Führt das Volk Israel in geordneten Scharen aus Ägypten!« 27 Sie sind es, die mit dem Pharao, dem Ägypterkönig, verhandeln und die Israeliten aus Ägypten herausführen sollten. 28 Gott hatte also zu Mose in Ägypten gesagt: 29 »Ich bin der HERR! Sag dem Pharao, dem König von Ägypten, alles, was ich dir auftrage!« 30 Mose aber hatte eingewandt: »Ich bin doch so ungeschickt im Reden, wie sollte da der Pharao auf mich hören?« (Ex 4:10)
