1Then he said to Moses, “Come up to the Lord, you and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and worship from afar. (Ex 6:23; Ex 28:1; Nu 11:16)2Moses alone shall come near to the Lord, but the others shall not come near, and the people shall not come up with him.” (Ex 24:13; Ex 24:15; Ex 24:18)3Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord and all the rules.[1] And all the people answered with one voice and said, “All the words that the Lord has spoken we will do.” (Ex 19:8; Ex 21:1; De 5:27)4And Moses wrote down all the words of the Lord. He rose early in the morning and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel. Gott schließt seinen Bund mit Israel
1Der HERR sagte zu Mose: »Komm zu mir herauf auf den Berg! Nimm Aaron, Nadab und Abihu mit und siebzig von den Ältesten Israels. Werft euch in gebührender Entfernung vor mir nieder.2Nur du allein darfst in meine Nähe kommen. Das Volk darf überhaupt nicht auf den Berg steigen.«3Mose trat vor das versammelte Volk und sagte ihm die Gebote und Gesetze des HERRN. Das ganze Volk antwortete einmütig: »Wir wollen alles tun, was der HERR uns befiehlt!«4Darauf schrieb Mose die Gebote und Gesetze in ein Buch. Am nächsten Morgen errichtete er am Fuß des Berges einen Altar und stellte zwölf Steinmale auf, für jeden Stamm Israels eines. (Jos 4:3; Jos 4:9; Jos 4:20; 1Ki 18:31)5Er beauftragte einige junge Männer, dem HERRN Brandopfer darzubringen und für das Opfermahl Stiere zu schlachten.6Die Hälfte des Blutes tat Mose in Schalen, die andere Hälfte goss er an den Altar.7Dann nahm er das Buch, in dem er das Bundesgesetz aufgeschrieben hatte, und las es den versammelten Israeliten laut vor. Sie versprachen: »Wir wollen alles gehorsam tun, was der HERR uns befiehlt.« (2Ki 23:2; 2Ki 23:21; 2Ch 25:4; 2Ch 34:30; 2Ch 35:12)8Darauf sprengte Mose aus den Schalen Blut über das Volk und sagte dazu: »Durch dieses Blut wird der Bund in Kraft gesetzt, den der HERR jetzt mit euch auf der Grundlage dieser Gebote und Gesetze schließt.« (Mr 14:24; Heb 9:19; Heb 10:29)9Danach stieg Mose den Berg hinauf, und die anderen begleiteten ihn: Aaron, Nadab und Abihu und siebzig von den Ältesten Israels.10Droben sahen sie den Gott Israels. Der Boden zu seinen Füßen war wie mit blauem Edelstein ausgelegt, klar und leuchtend wie der Himmel. (Eze 1:26; Re 4:2)11Gott erlaubte den ausgewählten Vertretern des Volkes, in seine Nähe zu kommen; er streckte nicht die Hand gegen sie aus, um sie zu töten.[1] Sie durften Gott sehen und aßen und tranken in seiner Gegenwart.
Mose wird auf den Berg gerufen
12Nun sagte der HERR zu Mose: »Steig zu mir auf den Berg herauf und bleib eine Zeit lang hier! Ich werde dir die Steintafeln geben, auf die ich meine Gebote geschrieben habe. Das Volk soll genau wissen, was ich von ihm verlange.« (Ex 25:16; Ex 25:21; Ex 31:18; Ex 32:15; Ex 32:19; Ex 34:1; Ex 34:28; De 4:13; 1Ki 8:8)13Mose und sein Diener Josua machten sich bereit, um auf den Gottesberg zu steigen.14Zu den Ältesten des Volkes sagte Mose: »Wartet hier auf uns, bis wir zurückkommen! Aaron und Hur bleiben bei euch. Wer einen Streitfall hat, soll sich an sie wenden.«15Dann stieg Mose den Berg hinauf. Die Wolke verhüllte den Gipfel (Ex 19:9)16-17und die Herrlichkeit des HERRN kam auf den Berg Sinai herab. Für die Israeliten sah sie aus wie ein loderndes Feuer auf dem Berggipfel. Sechs Tage lang blieb der Berg so von der Wolke verhüllt. Dann rief der HERR am siebten Tag aus der Wolke heraus Mose zu sich.18Jetzt ging Mose mitten in die Wolke hinein und stieg auf den Gipfel des Berges hinauf. Dort oben blieb er vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte. (Ex 34:28; De 9:9; De 9:18)
