Psalm 75

1 To the choirmaster: according to Do Not Destroy. A Psalm of Asaph. A Song. We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks, for your name is near. We[1] recount your wondrous deeds. (Ps 50:1; Ps 57:1; Ps 145:18) 2 “At the set time that I appoint I will judge with equity. (Ps 17:2; Ps 102:13; Da 8:19; Hab 2:3) 3 When the earth totters, and all its inhabitants, it is I who keep steady its pillars. (1Sa 2:8; Isa 24:19) 4 I say to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horn; (Ps 75:10; Zec 1:21) 5 do not lift up your horn on high, or speak with haughty neck.’” 6 For not from the east or from the west and not from the wilderness comes lifting up, (Ps 3:3) 7 but it is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another. (1Sa 2:7; Ps 50:6; Da 2:21) 8 For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup with foaming wine, well mixed, and he pours out from it, and all the wicked of the earth shall drain it down to the dregs. (Job 21:20; Ps 11:6; Ps 73:10; Pr 23:30) 9 But I will declare it forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. 10 All the horns of the wicked I will cut off, but the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up. (1Sa 2:1; Ps 75:4; Ps 89:17; Ps 112:9; Jer 48:25)

1 Für den Chormeister. Nach der Weise Zerstöre nicht! Ein Psalm Asafs. Ein Lied. 2 Wir haben dir gedankt, Gott, wir haben gedankt, nahe ist dein Name denen, die von deinen Wundern erzählten. 3 Ja, zu der Zeit, die ich selbst bestimme, richte ich in Geradheit. 4 Mag wanken die Erde mit all ihren Bewohnern, ich selber habe ihre Säulen fest gegründet. [Sela] (1Sa 2:8; Ps 24:2; Ps 104:5) 5 Ich sagte den Vermessenen: Seid nicht vermessen! und den Frevlern: Erhebt das Haupt nicht im Übermut! (1Sa 2:3) 6 Erhebt nicht so hoch euer Haupt! Redet nicht mit stolz gerecktem Nacken! (Ps 94:4) 7 Denn weder vom Osten noch vom Westen noch von der Wüste kommt Erhöhung.[1] (Jer 3:23; Mt 24:23) 8 Nein, Gott ist der Richter; den einen erniedrigt, den andern erhöht er. (1Sa 2:7; Da 2:21) 9 Ja, in der Hand des HERRN ist ein Becher, gefüllt mit gärendem, gewürztem Wein. Er schenkt davon ein, bis zur Hefe müssen ihn schlürfen, müssen ihn trinken alle Frevler der Erde. (Job 21:20; Ps 60:5; Jer 25:15; Hab 2:16) 10 Ich aber werde verkünden auf ewig, singen und spielen will ich dem Gott Jakobs. 11 Alle Macht der Frevler breche ich, doch wachsen wird die Macht des Gerechten.

1 Au chef de chœur: psaume d’Asaph[1]. A chanter sur la mélodie de « Ne détruis pas! ». (Ps 50:1) 2 Nous te célébrons, ô Dieu, ╵nous te célébrons, et nous proclamons ce que tu es[2]. Qu’on raconte tes merveilles! 3 « Lorsque viendra le moment ╵que j’aurai fixé, ╵a dit l’Eternel, je rendrai justice ╵avec équité. 4 Si la terre tremble ╵avec tous ses habitants, moi, j’affermis ses colonnes. Pause 5 Je déclare aux arrogants: ╵“Trêve d’arrogance!” Et aux gens méchants: ╵“Ne levez pas votre front!” 6 Non, ne levez pas le front ╵vers le ciel! Cessez de parler ╵avec insolence! » 7 Car ce n’est pas de l’Orient, ╵ni de l’Occident, et ce n’est pas du désert[3] ╵que vient la grandeur! 8 C’est Dieu seul qui juge: il abaisse l’un, ╵il élève l’autre. 9 L’Eternel tient dans sa main ╵une coupe pleine d’un vin âpre et mélangé. Il en verse aux méchants de la terre qui devront vider la coupe ╵en buvant jusqu’à la lie. 10 Moi, je le proclamerai ╵à jamais, je célébrerai ╵par mes chants ╵le Dieu de Jacob. 11 Il brisera l’arrogance ╵de tous les méchants tandis que le juste ╵pourra marcher le front haut.
