1And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James, and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. (Mt 26:37; Mr 5:37; Mr 9:2; Lu 9:28)2And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light. If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah.” (Mal 4:5)5He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son,[1] with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.” (Ex 24:15; Mt 3:17; Ac 3:22; 2Pe 1:17)6When the disciples heard this, they fell on their faces and were terrified. (Ge 17:3; Eze 1:28; 2Pe 1:18; Re 1:17)7But Jesus came and touched them, saying, “Rise, and have no fear.” (Da 8:18; Da 10:10; Da 10:18; Mt 14:27)8And when they lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.9And as they were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, “Tell no one the vision, until the Son of Man is raised from the dead.” (Mt 8:4; Mt 12:16; Mr 9:9)10And the disciples asked him, “Then why do the scribes say that first Elijah must come?” (Mal 4:5; Mt 11:14)11He answered, “Elijah does come, and he will restore all things. (Lu 1:16; Ac 1:6; Ac 3:21)12But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they pleased. So also the Son of Man will certainly suffer at their hands.” (Mt 14:3; Mt 14:10; Mt 16:21)13Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them of John the Baptist. (Mt 16:12)
Jesus Heals a Boy with a Demon
14And when they came to the crowd, a man came up to him and, kneeling before him, (Mr 9:14; Lu 9:37)15said, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he has seizures and he suffers terribly. For often he falls into the fire, and often into the water. (Mt 4:24)16And I brought him to your disciples, and they could not heal him.” (Mt 10:1; Mr 6:7; Lu 10:17)17And Jesus answered, “O faithless and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to me.” (Joh 14:9; Joh 20:27; Php 2:15)18And Jesus rebuked the demon,[2] and it[3] came out of him, and the boy was healed instantly.[4] (Zec 3:2; Mt 8:26; Mt 9:22; Mr 1:25; Lu 4:35; Lu 4:39; Jud 1:9)19Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?”20He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”[5] (Mt 6:30; Mt 13:31; Mt 17:9; Mt 21:21; Mr 9:23; Mr 11:23; Lu 17:6; Joh 11:40; 1Co 13:2)
Jesus Again Foretells Death, Resurrection
22As they were gathering[6] in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men, (Mt 16:21; Mt 20:17; Mr 9:30; Lu 9:43)23and they will kill him, and he will be raised on the third day.” And they were greatly distressed. (Mr 8:31)
The Temple Tax
24When they came to Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax went up to Peter and said, “Does your teacher not pay the tax?” (Ex 30:13; Ex 38:26; Mr 9:33)25He said, “Yes.” And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do kings of the earth take toll or tax? From their sons or from others?” (Mt 18:12; Mt 21:28; Mt 22:17; Mt 22:19; Mr 12:14; Ro 13:7)26And when he said, “From others,” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free.27However, not to give offense to them, go to the sea and cast a hook and take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth you will find a shekel.[7] Take that and give it to them for me and for yourself.”

Wenn du willst, werde ich hier drei Hütten bauen, eine für dich, eine für Mose und eine für Elija.5Noch während er redete, siehe, eine leuchtende Wolke überschattete sie und siehe, eine Stimme erscholl aus der Wolke: Dieser ist mein geliebter Sohn, an dem ich Wohlgefallen gefunden habe; auf ihn sollt ihr hören. (De 18:15; Ps 2:7; Isa 42:1; Mt 3:17)6Als die Jünger das hörten, warfen sie sich mit dem Gesicht zu Boden und fürchteten sich sehr.7Da trat Jesus zu ihnen, fasste sie an und sagte: Steht auf und fürchtet euch nicht!8Und als sie aufblickten, sahen sie niemanden außer Jesus allein.9Während sie den Berg hinabstiegen, gebot ihnen Jesus: Erzählt niemandem von dem, was ihr gesehen habt, bis der Menschensohn von den Toten auferweckt ist!
Über die Wiederkunft des Elija
10Da fragten ihn die Jünger: Warum sagen denn die Schriftgelehrten, zuerst müsse Elija kommen? (Mr 9:11)11Er gab zur Antwort: Ja, Elija kommt und er wird alles wiederherstellen. (Mal 3:23)12Ich sage euch aber: Elija ist schon gekommen, doch sie haben ihn nicht erkannt, sondern mit ihm gemacht, was sie wollten. Ebenso wird auch der Menschensohn durch sie leiden müssen.13Da verstanden die Jünger, dass er zu ihnen von Johannes dem Täufer sprach.
Die erfolglosen Jünger
14Als sie zu den Volksscharen zurückkamen, trat ein Mensch auf ihn zu, fiel vor ihm auf die Knie (Mr 9:14; Lu 9:37)15und sagte: Herr, hab Erbarmen mit meinem Sohn! Er ist mondsüchtig und hat schwer zu leiden. Oft fällt er ins Feuer und oft ins Wasser.16Ich habe ihn schon zu deinen Jüngern gebracht, aber sie konnten ihn nicht heilen.17Da sagte Jesus: O du ungläubige und verkehrte Generation! Wie lange muss ich noch bei euch sein? Wie lange muss ich euch noch ertragen? Bringt ihn her zu mir!18Und Jesus drohte ihm und der Dämon fuhr von ihm aus. Und der Knabe war von jener Stunde an geheilt.19Als die Jünger mit Jesus allein waren, wandten sie sich an ihn und fragten: Warum konnten denn wir den Dämon nicht austreiben?20-21Er antwortete: Wegen eures Kleinglaubens. Denn, amen, ich sage euch: Wenn ihr Glauben habt wie ein Senfkorn, dann werdet ihr zu diesem Berg sagen: Rück von hier nach dort! und er wird wegrücken. Nichts wird euch unmöglich sein.[1] (Mt 21:21; Mr 11:23; Lu 17:6)
Die zweite Ankündigung von Leiden und Auferstehung Jesu
22Als sie in Galiläa zusammen waren, sagte Jesus zu ihnen: Der Menschensohn wird in die Hände von Menschen ausgeliefert werden (Mt 16:21; Mt 20:17; Mr 9:30; Lu 9:43)23und sie werden ihn töten; aber am dritten Tag wird er auferweckt werden. Da wurden sie sehr traurig.
Von der Freiheit der Söhne und der Pflicht zur Tempelsteuer
24Als Jesus und die Jünger nach Kafarnaum kamen, traten jene, welche die Doppeldrachme einzogen, zu Petrus und fragten: Zahlt euer Meister die Doppeldrachme nicht?[2] (Ex 30:13)25Er antwortete: Doch! Als er dann ins Haus hineinging, kam ihm Jesus mit der Frage zuvor: Was meinst du, Simon, von wem erheben die Könige dieser Welt Zölle und Steuern? Von ihren eigenen Söhnen oder von den anderen Leuten?26Als Petrus antwortete: Von den anderen!, sagte Jesus zu ihm: Also sind die Söhne frei.27Damit wir aber bei ihnen keinen Anstoß erregen, geh an den See, wirf die Angel aus und den ersten Fisch, den du heraufholst, nimm, öffne ihm das Maul und du wirst ein Vierdrachmenstück finden. Das gib ihnen als Steuer für mich und für dich.

Si tu es d’accord, je vais dresser ici trois tentes, une pour toi, une pour Moïse et une pour Elie …5Pendant qu’il parlait ainsi, une nuée lumineuse les enveloppa, et une voix en sortit qui disait: Celui-ci est mon Fils bien-aimé, celui qui fait toute ma joie. Ecoutez-le!6En entendant cette voix, les disciples furent terrifiés et tombèrent le visage contre terre.7Mais Jésus s’approcha et posa la main sur eux en disant: Relevez-vous et n’ayez pas peur.8Alors ils levèrent les yeux et ne virent plus que Jésus seul.9Pendant qu’ils descendaient de la montagne, Jésus leur donna cet ordre: Ne racontez à personne ce que vous venez de voir avant que le Fils de l’homme soit ressuscité. (Mr 9:10)10Les disciples lui demandèrent alors: Pourquoi donc les spécialistes de la Loi disent-ils qu’Elie doit venir d’abord?11Il leur répondit: Effectivement, Elie doit venir remettre toutes choses en ordre.12Or, je vous le déclare: Elie est déjà venu, mais ils ne l’ont pas reconnu. Au contraire, ils l’ont traité comme ils ont voulu. Et c’est le même traitement que va subir de leur part le Fils de l’homme.13Les disciples comprirent alors qu’il parlait de Jean-Baptiste.
La guérison d’un enfant habité par un démon
14Quand ils furent revenus auprès de la foule, un homme s’approcha de Jésus, se jeta à genoux devant lui et le supplia: (Mr 9:14; Lu 9:37)15Seigneur, aie pitié de mon fils: il est épileptique[2] et il souffre beaucoup: il lui arrive souvent de tomber dans le feu ou dans l’eau. (Mt 4:24)16Je l’ai bien amené à tes disciples, mais ils n’ont pas réussi à le guérir.17Jésus s’exclama alors: Gens incrédules et infidèles à Dieu! Jusqu’à quand devrai-je encore rester avec vous? Jusqu’à quand devrai-je encore vous supporter? Amenez-moi l’enfant ici!18Jésus commanda avec sévérité au démon de sortir et, immédiatement, celui-ci sortit de l’enfant, qui fut guéri à l’heure même.19Alors, les disciples prirent Jésus à part et le questionnèrent: Pourquoi n’avons-nous pas réussi, nous, à chasser ce démon?20-21– Parce que vous n’avez que peu de foi, leur répondit-il. Vraiment, je vous l’assure, si vous aviez de la foi, même si elle n’était pas plus grosse qu’une graine de moutarde[3], vous pourriez commander à cette montagne: Déplace-toi d’ici jusque là-bas, et elle le ferait. Rien ne vous serait impossible[4].
La nouvelle annonce de la mort et de la résurrection de Jésus
22Un jour qu’ils parcouraient ensemble la Galilée, Jésus leur dit: Le Fils de l’homme va être livré aux mains des hommes; (Mr 9:30; Lu 9:43)23ils le feront mourir mais, le troisième jour, il ressuscitera. Les disciples furent extrêmement affligés par ces paroles.
L’impôt du Temple
24Ils se rendirent à Capernaüm. Là, les agents chargés de percevoir l’impôt pour le Temple vinrent trouver Pierre et lui demandèrent: Votre Maître ne paie-t-il pas l’impôt du Temple?25– Si, répondit-il, il le paie. Quand Pierre fut entré dans la maison, Jésus, prenant les devants, lui demanda: Qu’en penses-tu, Simon? Qui est-ce qui paie les taxes et les impôts aux rois de la terre? Les fils ou les étrangers?26– Les étrangers, répondit Pierre. – Donc, reprit Jésus, les fils n’ont rien à payer.27Toutefois, ne semons pas le trouble chez ces gens. Descends donc jusqu’au lac, lance ta ligne à l’eau, attrape le premier poisson qui mordra, et ouvre-lui la bouche: tu y trouveras une pièce d’argent. Prends-la et donne-la aux agents en paiement de l’impôt pour nous deux.
