Restore Our Fortunes, O Lord

1 A Song of Ascents. When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. (Ps 14:7; Ps 120:1; Ac 12:9) 2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” (Job 8:21; Ps 71:19) 3 The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad. 4 Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like streams in the Negeb! 5 Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! (Ezr 6:22; Ne 12:43; Jer 31:9; Hag 2:3; Ga 6:9)

6 He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.

1 Ein Wallfahrtslied. Als der HERR die Gefangenen^[1] Zions zurückführte, waren wir wie Träumende. (Ezr 1:11; Ps 14:7; Ps 85:2; Jer 33:26)

2 Da wurde unser Mund voll Lachen und unsere Zunge voll Jubel. Da sagte man unter den Nationen: »Der HERR hat Großes an ihnen getan!« (Job 8:21; Isa 35:10; Isa 51:11; Eze 36:36)

3 Der HERR hat Großes an uns getan: Wir waren fröhlich! (Joe 2:21; Lu 1:49; Lu 8:39) 4 Bringe zurück, HERR, unsere Gefangenen^[2], gleich den Bächen im Südland. (Isa 41:18; Jer 29:14; Jer 30:3) 5 Die mit Tränen säen, werden mit Jubel ernten. (Jer 31:9; Mt 5:4) 6 Er geht weinend hin und trägt den Samen zum Säen^[3]. Er kommt heim mit Jubel und trägt seine Garben. (Ps 30:6)
