Psalm 54

English Standard Version

from Crossway
1 To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. A Maskil[1] of David, when the Ziphites went and told Saul, “Is not David hiding among us?” O God, save me by your name, and vindicate me by your might. (1Sa 23:19; 1Sa 26:1; Ps 4:1; Ps 5:11; Ps 52:9)2 O God, hear my prayer; give ear to the words of my mouth. (Ps 55:1)3 For strangers[2] have risen against me; ruthless men seek my life; they do not set God before themselves. (1Sa 23:15; Ps 18:44; Ps 86:14; Ps 144:7; Isa 25:5)4 Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life. (Ps 118:7)5 He will return the evil to my enemies; in your faithfulness put an end to them. (Ps 89:49; Ps 143:12)6 With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you; I will give thanks to your name, O Lord, for it is good. (Ps 52:9)7 For he has delivered me from every trouble, and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies. (Ps 59:10; Ps 92:11; Ps 112:8; Ps 118:7)
