1Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,2“Speak to Aaron and say to him, When you set up the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the lampstand.”3And Aaron did so: he set up its lamps in front of the lampstand, as the LORD commanded Moses.4And this was the workmanship of the lampstand, hammered work of gold. From its base to its flowers, it was hammered work; according to the pattern that the LORD had shown Moses, so he made the lampstand. (Ex 25:31)
Cleansing of the Levites
5And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,6“Take the Levites from among the people of Israel and cleanse them.7Thus you shall do to them to cleanse them: sprinkle the water of purification upon them, and let them go with a razor over all their body, and wash their clothes and cleanse themselves. (Le 8:6; Le 14:8; Le 14:9; Nu 19:9; Nu 19:17)8Then let them take a bull from the herd and its grain offering of fine flour mixed with oil, and you shall take another bull from the herd for a sin offering. (Ex 29:41; Le 2:1; Nu 8:12)9And you shall bring the Levites before the tent of meeting and assemble the whole congregation of the people of Israel. (Ex 29:4; Ex 40:12; Le 8:3)10When you bring the Levites before the LORD, the people of Israel shall lay their hands on the Levites, (Le 1:4)11and Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD as a wave offering from the people of Israel, that they may do the service of the LORD.12Then the Levites shall lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, and you shall offer the one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering to the LORD to make atonement for the Levites. (Ex 29:10; Nu 8:8)13And you shall set the Levites before Aaron and his sons, and shall offer them as a wave offering to the LORD. (Nu 8:11)14“Thus you shall separate the Levites from among the people of Israel, and the Levites shall be mine. (Nu 3:45; Nu 16:9)15And after that the Levites shall go in to serve at the tent of meeting, when you have cleansed them and offered them as a wave offering. (Nu 8:13)16For they are wholly given to me from among the people of Israel. Instead of all who open the womb, the firstborn of all the people of Israel, I have taken them for myself. (Nu 3:9; Nu 3:12; Nu 3:45)17For all the firstborn among the people of Israel are mine, both of man and of beast. On the day that I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I consecrated them for myself, (Ex 13:2)18and I have taken the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the people of Israel.19And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and his sons from among the people of Israel, to do the service for the people of Israel at the tent of meeting and to make atonement for the people of Israel, that there may be no plague among the people of Israel when the people of Israel come near the sanctuary.” (Nu 1:53; Nu 8:16; Nu 25:11; Nu 25:13)20Thus did Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the people of Israel to the Levites. According to all that the LORD commanded Moses concerning the Levites, the people of Israel did to them.21And the Levites purified themselves from sin and washed their clothes, and Aaron offered them as a wave offering before the LORD, and Aaron made atonement for them to cleanse them. (Nu 8:7; Nu 8:12; Nu 8:13; Nu 8:15)22And after that the Levites went in to do their service in the tent of meeting before Aaron and his sons; as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they did to them.
Retirement of the Levites
23And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,24“This applies to the Levites: from twenty-five years old and upward they[1] shall come to do duty in the service of the tent of meeting. (Nu 4:3; 1Ch 23:3; 1Ch 23:24; 1Ch 23:27)25And from the age of fifty years they shall withdraw from the duty of the service and serve no more.26They minister[2] to their brothers in the tent of meeting by keeping guard, but they shall do no service. Thus shall you do to the Levites in assigning their duties.” (Nu 1:53)
1Habló YHVH a Moisés, diciendo:2Habla a Aarón, y dile: Cuando hagas montar las lámparas, las siete lámparas deberán alumbrar hacia la parte delantera del candelabro.3Y así lo hizo Aarón. Hacia la parte delantera del candelabro hizo montar las lámparas, tal como YHVH había ordenado a Moisés.4Y ésta era la hechura del candelabro: de oro macizo, incluido su base hasta sus flores, labrado a cincel. Según la visión que YHVH había mostrado a Moisés, así hizo el candelabro.5Y habló YHVH a Moisés, diciendo:6Toma a los levitas de entre los hijos de Israel y purifícalos.7Para purificarlos harás con ellos así: Rociarás sobre ellos el agua de la expiación, y ellos harán pasar la navaja por todo su cuerpo, lavarán sus vestidos, y así se purificarán.8Luego tomarán un novillo con su ofrenda vegetal de flor de harina amasada con aceite, y tú tomarás otro novillo para la ofrenda por el pecado.9Después aproximarás a los levitas delante de la Tienda de Reunión, y harás que se congregue toda la asamblea de los hijos de Israel.10Y harás que los levitas se aproximen delante de YHVH, y los hijos de Israel impondrán sus manos sobre los levitas.11Aarón presentará entonces a los levitas delante de YHVH como ofrenda mecida de los hijos de Israel, para que cumplan el servicio de YHVH.12Luego los levitas apoyarán sus manos sobre la cabeza de los novillos, y ofrecerás uno como ofrenda por el pecado, y otro como holocausto a YHVH, para hacer expiación a favor de los levitas.13Después mantendrás en pie a los levitas ante Aarón y sus hijos, para presentarlos como ofrenda mecida a YHVH.14Así separarás a los levitas de entre los hijos de Israel, y los levitas serán para mí.15Después de esto, cuando los hayas purificado y presentado como ofrenda mecida, los levitas entrarán para cumplir el servicio de la Tienda de Reunión.16Porque los levitas están enteramente dedicados a mí de entre los hijos de Israel. Yo los he tomado para mí en sustitución de todo el que abre matriz, es decir, de todo primogénito entre los hijos de Israel.17Porque mío es todo primogénito de los hijos de Israel, tanto de hombre como de animal, y desde el día en que herí a todo primogénito en la tierra de Egipto los hice santificar para mí.18Pero he tomado a los levitas en sustitución de todos los primogénitos entre los hijos de Israel.19Y de entre los hijos de Israel he entregado a los levitas como dones para Aarón y sus hijos, para que sirvan en la obra de los hijos de Israel en la Tienda de Reunión, y hagan expiación a favor de los hijos de Israel, así no les sobrevendrá plaga a los hijos de Israel cuando se acerquen al Santuario.20Entonces Moisés, Aarón y toda la asamblea de los hijos de Israel, hicieron con los levitas conforme a todo lo que YHVH había ordenado a Moisés acerca de los levitas. Así hicieron con ellos los hijos de Israel.21Y los levitas se purificaron a sí mismos de pecado y lavaron sus vestidos. Y Aarón los presentó como ofrenda mecida ante YHVH, e hizo Aarón expiación a favor de ellos para purificarlos.22Después de esto, los levitas entraron a oficiar su servicio en la Tienda de Reunión ante Aarón y sus hijos. Tal como YHVH había ordenado a Moisés acerca de los levitas, así hicieron con ellos.23Y habló YHVH a Moisés, diciendo:24Esto es lo concerniente a los levitas: De edad de veinticinco años arriba, entrará a prestar servicio en la Tienda de Reunión,25y a los cincuenta años se retirará de prestar servicio en la obra, y nunca más servirá.26Sin embargo, podrá ministrar con sus hermanos en la Tienda de Reunión, para hacer guardia, mas no podrá servir en la obra. Así harás con los levitas en cuanto a sus guardias.
