Reuben and Gad Settle in Gilead

1 Now the people of Reuben and the people of Gad had a very great number of livestock. And they saw the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead, and behold, the place was a place for livestock. (Nu 21:32; Nu 32:3) 

2 So the people of Gad and the people of Reuben came and said to Moses and to Eleazar the priest and to the chiefs of the congregation, 

3 “Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sebam, Nebo, and Beon, (Nu 21:30; Nu 32:34; Nu 32:38; Nu 33:47; De 32:49; 1Ch 5:8; Isa 15:2; Isa 46:1; Jer 48:1; Jer 48:22) 

4 the land that the LORD struck down before the congregation of Israel, is a land for livestock, and your servants have livestock.” (Nu 21:24; Nu 21:34; Nu 32:33) 

5 And they said, “If we have found favor in your sight, let this land be given to your servants for a possession. Do not take us across the Jordan.” 

6 But Moses said to the people of Gad and to the people of Reuben, “Shall your brothers go to the war while you sit here? 

7 Why will you discourage the heart of the people of Israel from going over into the land that the LORD has given them? 

8 Your fathers did this, when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea to see the land. (Nu 13:3; Nu 13:21; De 1:22) 

9 For when they went up to the Valley of Eshcol and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the people of Israel from going into the land that the LORD had given them. 

10 And the LORD’s anger was kindled on that day, and he swore, saying, (De 1:34) 

11 ‘Surely none of the men who came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land that I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, because they have not wholly followed me, (Ge 50:24; Nu 14:29) 

12 none except Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua the son of Nun, for they have wholly followed the LORD.’ (Nu 14:24; De 1:36; Jos 14:6; Jos 14:8; Jos 14:9; Jos 15:17) 

13 And the LORD’s anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation that had done evil in the sight of the LORD was gone. (Nu 14:33; Nu 26:64; Nu 26:65) 

14 And behold, you have risen in your fathers’ place, a brood of sinful men, to increase still more the fierce anger of the LORD against Israel! 

15 For if you turn away from following him, he will again abandon them in the wilderness, and you will destroy all this people.” (De 30:17; Jos 22:16; Jos 22:18; 2Ch 7:19; 2Ch 7:20; 2Ch 15:2) 

16 Then they came near to him and said, “We will build sheepfolds here for our livestock, and cities for our little ones, (Nu 32:24) 

17 but we will take up arms, ready to go before the people of Israel, until we have brought them to their place. And our little ones shall live in the fortified cities because of the inhabitants of the land. (Jos 4:12; Jos 4:13) 

18 We will not return to our homes until each of the people of Israel has gained his inheritance. (Jos 22:4) 

19 For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan and beyond, because our inheritance has come to us on this side of the Jordan to the east.” (Nu 32:33; Jos 12:1; Jos 13:8) 

20 So Moses said to them, “If you will do this, if you will take up arms to go before the LORD for the war, (De 3:18; Jos 1:13; Jos 1:14; Jos 4:12; Jos 4:13) 

21 and every armed man of you will pass over the Jordan before the LORD, until he has driven out his enemies from before him (Nu 33:52) 

22 and the land is subdued before the LORD; then after that you shall return and be free of obligation to the LORD and to Israel, and this land shall be your possession before the LORD. (De 3:12; De 3:15; De 3:16; De 3:18; Jos 1:15; Jos 13:8; Jos 13:32; Jos 22:4; Jos 22:9) 

23 But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against the LORD, and be sure your sin will find you out. (Ge 44:16; Isa 59:12) 

24 Build cities for your little ones and folds for your sheep, and do what you have promised.” (Nu 32:16; Nu 32:34) 

25 And the people of Gad and the people of Reuben said to Moses, “Your servants will do as my lord commands. 

26 Our little ones, our wives, our livestock, and all our cattle shall remain there in the cities of Gilead, (Jos 1:14) 

27 but your servants will pass over, every man who is armed for war, before the LORD to battle, as my lord orders.” (Nu 31:5; Jos 4:12; Jos 4:13) 

28 So Moses gave command concerning them to Eleazar the priest and to Joshua the son of Nun and to the heads of the fathers’ houses of the tribes of the people of Israel. (Nu 27:18; Jos 1:13) 

29 And Moses said to them, “If the people of Gad and the people of Reuben, every man who is armed to battle before the LORD, will pass with you over the Jordan and the land shall be subdued before you, then you shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession. 

30 However, if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan.” 

31 And the people of Gad and the people of Reuben answered, “What the LORD has said to your servants, we will do. 

32 We will pass over armed before the LORD into the land of Canaan, and the possession of our inheritance shall remain with us beyond the Jordan.” 

33 And Moses gave to them, to the people of Gad and to the people of Reuben and to the half-tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land and its cities with their territories, the cities of the land throughout the country. (De 3:12; De 29:8; Jos 12:6; Jos 13:8; Jos 22:4) 

34 And the people of Gad built Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer, (Nu 32:3; De 2:36) 

35 Atroth-shophan, Jazer, Jogbehah, (Nu 21:32; Nu 32:1) 

36 Beth-nimrah and Beth-haran, fortified cities, and folds for sheep. (Nu 32:3; Nu 32:17) 

37 And the people of Reuben built Heshbon, Elealeh, Kiriathaim, (Nu 21:27; Nu 32:3; Nu 32:34) 

38 Nebo, and Baal-meon ( their names were changed), and Sibmah. And they gave other names to the cities that they built. (Ex 23:13; Nu 3:1; Nu 32:36; Jos 13:17; Jos 23:7; Jer 48:23) 

39 And the sons of Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead and captured it, and dispossessed the Amorites who were in it. (Ge 50:23; 1Ch 7:14; 1Ch 7:15) 

40 And Moses gave Gilead to Machir the son of Manasseh, and he settled in it. (De 3:13; De 3:15; Jos 13:31; Jos 17:1) 

41 And Jair the son of Manasseh went and captured their villages, and called them Havvoth-jair. (De 3:14; 1Ch 2:21) 

42 And Nobah went and captured Kenath and its villages, and called it Nobah, after his own name.

1 吕便和迦得的子孙有许多牲畜，他们见雅谢和基列适于放牧， 

2 就来见摩西、以利亚撒祭司和会众的首领，说： 

3 “亚大录、底本、雅谢、宁拉、希实本、以利亚利、示班、尼波和比稳——

12 只有基尼洗族耶孚尼的儿子迦勒和嫩的儿子约书亚可以看到，因为他们全心全意地跟从我。’ 

13 耶和华向以色列人发怒，使他们在旷野漂泊了四十年，直到在耶和华面前作恶的那一代都死了。 

14 “现在，你们这群罪人的后代竟然重蹈前人的覆辙，加剧耶和华的怒气。 

15 如果你们离弃祂，祂必再次把以色列人丢弃在旷野，这样你们就毁了整个民族。” 

16 他们上前对摩西说：“我们要在这里为牲畜建围栏，为家眷筑城邑， 

17 让他们留在坚固的城内，免受当地居民的威胁。然后我们必拿起兵器率先上阵，直到帮其他以色列同胞夺取他们的土地。 

18 在其他同胞占领各自的产业之前，我们决不回家。 

19 但我们不会跟他们在约旦河西岸分土地，我们只想要约旦河东岸之地作产业。”

23 但如果你们不守承诺，就是得罪耶和华，必难逃惩罚。 

24 你们现在去为家人筑城邑，为牛羊建围栏吧，但别忘了信守承诺。” 

25 迦得和吕便的子孙对摩西说：“仆人们一定遵命而行。 

26 我们的妻子、孩子、牛羊等牲畜都会留在基列的各城。 

27 仆人当中所有能上阵打仗的人都会照你的吩咐在耶和华面前过河作战。” 

28 于是，摩西对以利亚撒祭司、嫩的儿子约书亚和以色列各支派的族长说： 

29 “如果迦得和吕便子孙中所有能上阵打仗的人，在耶和华面前跟你们一同过河作战，你们征服那片土地以后就要把基列给他们作产业。 

30 如果他们不带着兵器跟你们一起过河作战，就只能在迦南与你们同分产业。” 

31 迦得和吕便的子孙再次说：“凡耶和华所吩咐的，仆人们一定照办。 

32 我们一定带着兵器在耶和华面前过河，前往迦南，但我们要拥有约旦河东之地作产业。” 

33 摩西就把亚摩利王西宏和巴珊王噩的国土及周围的城邑都给了迦得的子孙、吕便的子孙和约瑟儿子玛拿西的半个支派。 

34 迦得的子孙重建了底本、亚他录、亚罗珥、 

35 亚他录·朔反、雅谢、约比哈、 

36 伯·宁拉和伯·哈兰，使之成为坚固的城池，并建了羊圈。 

37 吕便的子孙重建了希实本、以利亚利、基列亭、 

38 尼波、巴力·免和西比玛。他们为重建的城邑起了新名字，如尼波和巴力·免。 

39 玛拿西之子玛吉的子孙占领了基列，赶走了那里的亚摩利人。 

40 摩西就把基列赐给玛拿西的儿子玛吉，作他的居所。 

41 玛拿西的子孙雅珥占领了基列的村庄，将它们改名为哈倭特·雅珥。 

42 挪巴占领了基纳及其周围的村庄，就按自己的名字称基纳为挪巴。

1 Los hijos de Rubén y los hijos de Gad poseían numerosos y muy importantes rebaños, y vieron que la tierra de Jazer y la tierra de Galaad era un lugar apropiado para el ganado. 

2 Y los hijos de Gad y los de Rubén fueron y hablaron a Moisés, al sacerdote Eleazar y a los jefes de la asamblea, diciendo: 

3 Atarot, Dibón, Jazer, Nimra, Hesbón, Eleale, Sebam, Nebo y Beón, 

4 la tierra que YHVH azotó en presencia de la asamblea de Israel, es tierra de ganado, y tus siervos tienen ganado. 

5 Por tanto, dijeron, si hemos hallado gracia ante tus ojos, que se dé esta tierra a tus siervos en propiedad. No nos hagas pasar el Jordán. 

6 Entonces Moisés respondió a los hijos de Gad y a los hijos de Rubén: ¿Irán vuestros hermanos a la batalla, y vosotros os quedaréis aquí? 

7 ¿Por qué desanimáis el corazón de los hijos de Israel, para que no pasen a la tierra que YHVH les ha dado? 

8 Así hicieron vuestros padres, cuando los envié desde Cades Barnea a explorar el país. 

9 Subieron hasta el valle de Escol, y al ver la tierra, desanimaron el corazón de los hijos de Israel para que no entraran a la tierra que YHVH les había dado. 

10 Aquel día se encendió la ira de YHVH, y juró diciendo: 

11 Los varones de veinte años arriba que subieron de Egipto, no verán la tierra por la cual he jurado a Abraham, Isaac y Jacob, por cuanto no fueron íntegros en pos de mí, 

12 excepto Caleb ben Jefone, cenezeo, y Josué ben Nun, que fueron íntegros en pos de YHVH. 

13 Se encendió entonces la ira de YHVH contra Israel, y los hizo andar errantes cuarenta años por el desierto, hasta que toda aquella generación que había obrado mal ante los ojos de YHVH se extinguió. 

14 Y he aquí, vosotros surgís en lugar de vuestros padres, ralea de hombres pecadores, para aumentar aún más el ardor de la ira de YHVH contra Israel. 

15 Si os volvéis de en pos de Él, otra vez os volverá a dejar en el desierto, y destruiréis a todo este pueblo. 

16 Entonces ellos se le acercaron y dijeron: Construiremos aquí corrales para nuestro ganado y ciudades para nuestros pequeños. 

17 Pero nosotros nos armaremos e iremos con diligencia al frente de los hijos de Israel, hasta que los hayamos introducido a su lugar. En tanto nuestros pequeños vivirán en ciudades fortificados por causa de los habitantes del país. 

18 No volveremos a nuestras casas hasta que los hijos de Israel posean cada uno su heredad, 

19 y no tomaremos heredad con ellos al otro lado del Jordán ni más allá, porque tendremos ya nuestra heredad en esta parte del Jordán, al oriente. 

20 Moisés les respondió: Si hacéis tal cosa, si os preparáis para ir delante de YHVH a la batalla, 

21 y todo hombre armado de entre vosotros cruza el Jordán delante de YHVH, hasta que haya expulsado a sus enemigos de su presencia, 

22 y la tierra haya quedado subyugada ante YHVH, y os volvéis, entonces quedaréis absueltos para con YHVH y para con Israel, y esta tierra será vuestra propiedad delante de YHVH. 

23 Pero si no lo hacéis así, he aquí habréis pecado contra YHVH, y sabed que vuestro pecado os alcanzará. 

24 Construíos pues ciudades para vuestros pequeños, y rediles para vuestros rebaños, y haced lo que ha proferido vuestra boca. 

25 Entonces los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén hablaron a Moisés, diciendo: Tus siervos harán tal como mi señor ha ordenado. 

26 Nuestros pequeños, nuestras mujeres, nuestro ganado y todos nuestros animales quedarán allí en las ciudades de Galaad. 

27 Pero tus siervos, todos los hombres armados del ejército, desfilarán ante YHVH para la batalla, tal como mi señor está hablando. 

28 Entonces Moisés los encomendó a Eleazar el sacerdote, a Josué ben Nun y a los jefes de familia de las tribus de los hijos de Israel. 

29 Y Moisés les dijo: Si los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén cruzan con vosotros el Jordán, armados todos para la guerra, delante de YHVH, y el país es sometido ante vosotros, les daréis la tierra de Galaad en propiedad, 

30 pero si no pasan armados con vosotros, entonces tendrán propiedad en medio de vosotros en la tierra de Canaán. 

31 Y los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén respondieron, diciendo: Haremos lo que YHVH ha hablado a tus siervos. 

32 Nosotros pasaremos armados delante de YHVH a la tierra de Canaán, pero la propiedad de nuestra heredad estará a este lado del Jordán. 

33 Y Moisés dio a los hijos de Gad y a los hijos de Rubén y a la media tribu de Manasés ben José, el reino de Sehón, rey amorreo, y el reino de Og, rey de Basán: la tierra con sus ciudades, con sus territorios, y las ciudades del país circundante. 

34 Y los hijos de Gad construyeron Dibón, Atarot, Aroer, 

35 Atarot-Sofán, Jazer y Jogbeha, 

36 y Bet-Nimra y Bet-Arán, ciudades fortificadas, y también rediles para el rebaño. 

37 Y los hijos de Rubén construyeron Hesbón, Eleale, Quiriataim, 

38 Nebo y Baal-Meón (cambiadas de nombre), y Sibma. Y llamaron por sus nombres las ciudades que reedificaron. 

39 Fueron también los hijos de Maquir ben Manasés a Galaad y la capturaron, y desposeyeron a los amorreos que estaban en ella. 

40 Y Moisés dio Galaad a Maquir ben Manasés, y habitó en ella. 

41 También Fair ben Manasés fue y se apoderó de sus aldeas, y les puso el nombre de Javot-Jair. 

42 Asimismo Noba fue y capturó Quenat y sus aldeas, y conforme a su nombre la llamó Noba.
