Men and Vows

1 Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes of the people of Israel, saying, “This is what the LORD has commanded. (Nu 1:4; Nu 1:16; Nu 7:2) 2 If a man vows a vow to the LORD, or swears an oath to bind himself by a pledge, he shall not break his word. He shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth. (Le 5:4; Le 27:2; De 23:21; Job 22:27; Ps 22:25; Ps 50:14; Ps 66:13; Ps 66:14; Ps 116:14; Ps 116:18; Ec 5:4; Na 1:15)

Women and Vows

3 “If a woman vows a vow to the LORD and binds herself by a pledge, while within her father’s house in her youth, 4 and her father hears of her vow and of her pledge by which she has bound herself and says nothing to her, then all her vows shall stand, and every pledge by which she has bound herself shall stand. 5 But if her father opposes her on the day that he hears of it, no vow of hers, no pledge by which she has bound herself shall stand. And the LORD will forgive her, because her father opposed her. 6 “If she marries a husband, while under her vows or any thoughtless utterance of her lips by which she has bound herself, (Ps 56:12) 7 and her husband hears of it and says nothing to her on the day that he hears, then her vows shall stand, and her pledges by which she has bound herself shall stand. 8 But if, on the day that her husband comes to hear of it, he opposes her, then he makes void her vow that was on her, and the thoughtless utterance of her lips by which she bound herself. And the LORD will forgive her. (Nu 6:1; Nu 30:12) 9 (But any vow of a widow or of a divorced woman, anything by which she has bound herself, shall stand against her.) 10 And if she vowed in her husband’s house or bound herself by a pledge with an oath, 11 and her husband heard of it and said nothing to her and did not oppose her, then all her vows shall stand, and every pledge by which she bound herself shall stand. 12 But if her husband makes them null and void on the day that he hears them, then whatever proceeds out of her lips concerning her vows or concerning her pledge of herself shall not stand. Her husband has made them void, and the LORD will forgive her. (Nu 30:8) 13 Any vow and any binding oath to afflict herself,^[1] her husband may establish,^[2] or her husband may make void. 14 But if her husband says nothing to her from day to day, then he establishes all her vows or all her pledges that are upon her. He has established them, because he said nothing to her on the day that he heard of them. 15 But if he makes them null and void after he has heard of them, then he shall bear her iniquity.” (Le 5:1) 16 These are the statutes that the LORD commanded Moses about a man and his wife and about a father and his daughter while she is in her youth within her father’s house.

1 摩西对以色列各支派的首领说：“以下是耶和华的吩咐。 2 “倘若人在什么事上向耶和华许愿或起誓，他就不可食言，必须履行诺言。 3 倘若未出嫁的少女在什么事上向耶和华许愿或起誓， 4 倘若她父亲得知她许的愿或起的誓后没有反对，她就必须履行诺言； 5 倘若她父亲得知后加以反对，她的诺言就无效。耶和华必不追究她，因为她父亲反对。 6 “倘若有女子出嫁前许了愿或信口起了誓， 7 她丈夫得知后没有反对，她就必须履行诺言； 8 倘若她丈夫得知后加以反对，她的诺言就无效，耶和华必不追究她。 9 倘若寡妇或被休的妇人在什么事上许愿或起誓，她必须履行诺言。 10 “倘若已婚妇女在夫家许愿或起誓， 11 她丈夫得知后没有反对，她就必须履行诺言； 12 倘若她丈夫得知的当天加以反对，她的诺言就无效。耶和华必不追究她，因为她丈夫反对。 13 丈夫有权赞同或反对妻子许的愿或起的誓。 14 倘若丈夫得知妻子许愿或起誓的当天没有反对，她就必须履行诺言，因为丈夫当天默认了。 15 倘若丈夫当天默认了，后来又加以反对，他就要承担妻子的罪责。” 16 以上是耶和华借摩西颁布的有关丈夫和妻子、父亲和未出嫁的女儿要遵守的条例。

Ley sobre los votos

1 Habló Moisés a los jefes de las tribus de los hijos de Israel, diciendo: Esta es la palabra que YHVH ha ordenado: 2 Cuando un hombre haga voto a YHVH, o jure imponiéndose una promesa, no quebrantará su palabra. Todo lo que salga de su boca lo cumplirá. 3 Asimismo, si una mujer hace un voto a YHVH, y se impone una obligación en su juventud estando en casa de su padre, 4 y su padre escucha su voto y la obligación que se ha impuesto, y su padre no le dice nada, entonces todos los votos de ella serán firmes, y toda promesa que se ha impuesto, será firme. 5 Pero si su padre se lo prohíbe el día en que se entera, ninguno de sus votos o promesas que se ha impuesto serán firmes. YHVH la perdonará por cuanto su padre se opuso. 6 Pero si es casada y hace votos, o pronuncia con sus labios cosa con que obligue su alma, 7 y su marido oye, y cuando oye se calla, los votos de ella serán firmes, y la obligación que se impuso será firme. 8 Pero si el día en que su marido la oye, se lo prohíbe, entonces anulará el voto bajo el cual ella está y la declaración imprudente de sus labios con que se ha comprometido, y YHVH la perdonará. 9 Pero el voto de una viuda o una repudiada, todo aquello con lo cual se ha comprometido, será firme hacia ella. 10 Sin embargo, si hizo voto cuando estaba en casa de su marido, y ha ligado su alma con obligación de juramento, 11 y su marido oyó, y calló ante ello, y no se lo prohibió, entonces todos sus votos serán firmes, y toda obligación con que ligó su alma será firme. 12 Pero si su marido en verdad los anula el día en que los oye, todo lo que salió de sus labios en cuanto a sus votos, o en cuanto a obligarse a sí misma, será nulo. Su marido los ha anulado, y YHVH la perdonará. 13 Todo voto y todo juramento que obligue a humillarse a sí misma, su marido lo confirmará o anulará. 14 Pero si su marido de día en día calla ante ello, entonces ha confirmado todos sus votos y todas las obligaciones que están sobre ella. Las confirma por cuanto calló ante ello el día que lo oyó. 15 Y si los anula después de haberlos oído, entonces él cargará con la iniquidad de ella. 16 Estos son los estatutos que YHVH ordenó a Moisés sobre las relaciones entre el varón y su mujer, y entre el padre y su hija durante la juventud de ésta en casa de su padre.
