Why Have You Forsaken Me?

1 To the choirmaster: according to The Doe of the Dawn. A Psalm of David. My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning? (Job 3:24; Ps 22:11; Ps 32:3; Ps 38:8; Isa 59:11; Mt 27:46; Mr 15:34; Heb 5:7)

9 Yet you are he who took me from the womb; you made me trust you at my mother’s breasts. (Ps 71:6) 10 On you was I cast from my birth, and from my mother’s womb you have been my God. 23 You who fear the Lord, praise him! All you offspring of Jacob, glorify him, and stand in awe of him, all you offspring of Israel! 1 ¡Dios mío, Dios mío! ¿Por qué me has desamparado? ¿Por qué estás lejos de mi salvación y de las palabras de mi clamor? 2 Dios mío, clamo de día, y no respondes, Y de noche, y no hay sosiego para mí. 3 Pero Tú eres santo, ¡Tú, que habitas entre las alabanzas de Israel! 4 En ti confiaron nuestros padres, Confiaron, y Tú los libraste. 5 Clamaron a ti, y fueron librados, Confiaron en ti, y no fueron avergonzados. 6 Pero yo soy gusano y no hombre, Oprobio de los hombres y despreciado del pueblo. 7 Todos los que me ven me escarnecen, Hacen una mueca con los labios, Menean la cabeza, diciendo: 8 Se encomendó a YHVH, líbrelo Él, Que Él lo rescate, puesto que en Él se complacía. 9 Porque Tú eres el que me sacó del vientre, Me diste confianza desde que estaba sobre los pechos de mi madre. 10 A ti fui entregado desde la matriz, Desde el vientre de mi madre, Tú eres mi Dios. 11 No te alejes de mí, porque la angustia está cerca, Porque no hay quien ayude. 12 Me han rodeado muchos toros, Fuertes toros de Basán me han cercado. 13 Abren su boca contra mí, Como león voraz y rugiente. 14 Soy derramado como aguas, Y todos mis huesos se descoyuntan, Mi corazón se ha derretido como cera Dentro de mi pecho. 15 Mi vigor se ha secado como tiesto, Y mi lengua se pega a mi paladar. ¡Me has puesto en el polvo de la muerte! 16 Perros me han rodeado, Me ha cercado cuadrilla de malignos, Horadaron mis manos y mis pies; 17 Contar puedo todos mis huesos, Entre tanto, ellos me miran y me observan. 18 Repartieron entre sí mis vestiduras, Y sobre mi túnica echan suertes. 19 Pero Tú, oh YHVH, ¡no te alejes, fortaleza mía! ¡Apresúrate a socorrerme! 20 ¡Libra mi alma de la espada, Y del poder del perro mi vida! 21 ¡Sálvame de la boca del león Y de los cuernos de los toros salvajes! ¡Me has respondido! 22 Anunciaré tu Nombre a mis hermanos, En medio de la congregación te alabaré. 23 ¡Los que teméis a YHVH, alabadlo! Glorificadlo, descendencia toda de Jacob, Y temedle vosotros, descendencia toda de Israel, 24 Porque no menospreció ni rechazó el dolor del afligido, Ni de él ocultó su rostro, Sino que cuando clamó a Él, lo escuchó. 25 De ti viene mi alabanza en la gran congregación, Cumpliré mis votos delante de los que lo temen. 26 ¡Que coman y que se sacien los humildes! ¡Alaben a YHVH los que lo buscan, Y vuestro corazón viva para siempre! 27 Se acordarán y se volverán a YHVH de todos los confines de la tierra, Y todas las familias de las naciones se postrarán delante de ti, 28 Porque de YHVH es el reino, Y Él regirá a las naciones. 29 Los que comieron y engordaron en la tierra se postrarán ante Él, Los que bajan al polvo se postrarán ante Él, Los que no pueden conservar viva su alma. 30 Una simiente escogida lo servirá. Esto se dirá de Adonay hasta la postrera generación. 31 Vendrán y anunciarán su justicia, A pueblo no nacido aún, anunciarán que Él hizo esto.
