1And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James, and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. Jesus Heals a Boy with a Demon
14And when they came to the crowd, a man came up to him and, kneeling before him, (Mr 9:14; Lu 9:37)15said, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he has seizures and he suffers terribly. For often he falls into the fire, and often into the water. (Mt 4:24)16And I brought him to your disciples, and they could not heal him.” (Mt 10:1; Mr 6:7; Lu 10:17)17And Jesus answered, “O faithless and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Jesus Again Foretells Death, Resurrection
22As they were gathering[6] in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men, (Mt 16:21; Mt 20:17; Mr 9:30; Lu 9:43)23and they will kill him, and he will be raised on the third day.” And they were greatly distressed. (Mr 8:31)
The Temple Tax
24When they came to Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax went up to Peter and said, “Does your teacher not pay the tax?” (Ex 30:13; Ex 38:26; Mr 9:33)25He said, “Yes.” And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do kings of the earth take toll or tax? From their sons or from others?” (Mt 18:12; Mt 21:28; Mt 22:17; Mt 22:19; Mr 12:14; Ro 13:7)26And when he said, “From others,” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free.27However, not to give offense to them, go to the sea and cast a hook and take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth you will find a shekel.[7] Take that and give it to them for me and for yourself.”

Liberación de un endemoniado
14Y cuando llegaron al gentío, se le acercó un hombre arrodillándose ante Él,15y diciendo: Señor, ten compasión de mi hijo, pues es lunático, y padece muchísimo, porque muchas veces cae en el fuego, y muchas veces en el agua;16y lo traje a tus discípulos, pero no pudieron sanarlo.17Respondiendo Jesús, dijo: ¡Oh generación incrédula y perversa! ¿Hasta cuándo estaré con vosotros? ¿Hasta cuándo os soportaré? ¡Traédmelo acá!18Y Jesús lo reprendió, y el demonio salió de él, y el muchacho quedó sano desde aquella hora.19Entonces los discípulos se acercaron a Jesús aparte, y dijeron: ¿Por qué no pudimos echarlo nosotros?20-21Les dice: Por vuestra poca fe; porque de cierto os digo que si tuvierais fe como un grano de mostaza, diríais a este monte: ¡Pásate de aquí allá!, y se pasaría, y nada os sería imposible.
Su muerte y resurrección (segunda predicción)
22Reunidos en Galilea, les dijo Jesús: El Hijo del Hombre está a punto de ser entregado en manos de los hombres,23y lo matarán, pero al tercer día será resucitado. Y ellos se entristecieron en gran manera.
El impuesto del templo
24Cuando llegaron a Cafarnaum, se acercaron a Pedro los que cobran las dos dracmas, y dijeron: ¿Vuestro Maestro no paga las dos dracmas? Contestó: Sí.25Y cuando llegó a la casa, Jesús se le anticipó, diciendo: ¿Qué opinas Simón? ¿De quiénes reciben impuestos o tributo los reyes de la tierra? ¿De sus hijos, o de los extraños?26Y cuando respondió: De los extraños; Jesús le dijo: Entonces los hijos están exentos.27Sin embargo, para que no los ofendamos, ve al mar y lanza un anzuelo, y el primer pez que salga, tómalo, ábrele la boca y hallarás un estatero; tómalo y dáselo por mí y por ti.
