1Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. (Lu 24:12)4Both of them were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.5And stooping to look in, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in. He saw the linen cloths lying there,7and the face cloth, which had been on Jesus’[1] head, not lying with the linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself. (Joh 11:44)8Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; (Joh 20:4)9for as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead. Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene
11But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb.12And she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet. (Mr 16:5; Lu 24:4)13They said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.” (Joh 2:4; Joh 20:2; Joh 20:15)14Having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus. Whom are you seeking?” Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.” (Joh 1:38; Joh 18:4; Joh 18:7; Joh 19:41; Joh 20:13)16Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said to him in Aramaic,[2] “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher). Jesus Appears to the Disciples
19On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews,[3] Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” (Lu 24:33; Lu 24:36; Joh 7:13; Joh 14:27; Joh 20:26; 1Co 15:5)20When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. (Lu 24:40; Joh 16:22)21Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” (Joh 3:17; Joh 13:20; Joh 17:18; Ac 1:2)22And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. Jesus and Thomas
24Now Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin,[4] was not with them when Jesus came. (Joh 11:16)25So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.” (Ps 22:16; Joh 20:20)26Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” (Joh 20:19)27Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” (Lu 24:39; Joh 20:20; 1Jo 1:1)28Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” (Joh 1:1; Joh 1:49)29Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Aparición a Miriam
11Pero Miriam se había quedado afuera, frente al sepulcro, llorando; y mientras lloraba, se agachó a mirar dentro del sepulcro,12y ve a dos ángeles de blanco sentados, uno a la cabecera y otro a los pies, donde había yacido el cuerpo de Jesús.13Ellos le dicen: Mujer ¿por qué lloras? Les dice: Porque se llevaron a mi Señor, y no sé dónde lo han puesto.14Dicho esto, se da la vuelta y ve a Jesús de pie (pero no sabía que era Jesús).15Jesús le dice: Mujer, ¿por qué lloras? ¿A quién buscas? Ella, pensando que es el hortelano, le dice: Señor, si tú te lo llevaste, dime dónde lo pusiste, y yo me lo llevaré.16Jesús le dice: ¡Miriam! Ella, volviéndose, le dice en arameo: ¡Rabboni! (que quiere decir Maestro).17Jesús le dice: No me retengas, porque aún no he subido al Padre; pero ve a mis hermanos y diles: Subo a mi Padre y a vuestro Padre, a mi Dios y a vuestro Dios.18Miriam de Magdala fue a dar las nuevas a los discípulos: ¡He visto al Señor! y les manifestó que le había dicho estas cosas.
Aparición a los discípulos
19Cuando fue la tarde de aquel mismo día uno de la semana, y estando cerradas las puertas donde estaban los discípulos, por temor a los judíos, Jesús llegó y se puso en medio, y les dice: Paz a vosotros.20Y habiendo dicho esto, les mostró las manos y el costado. Entonces los discípulos, al ver al Señor, se regocijaron.21Así que les dijo otra vez: Paz a vosotros: como el Padre me envió, Yo también os envío.22Y habiendo dicho esto, sopló y les dice: Recibid el Espíritu Santo.23A cuantos perdonéis los pecados, les han sido perdonados; a cuantos los retengáis, les han sido retenidos.
Tomás
24Pero Tomás, uno de los doce, el llamado Dídimo, no estaba con ellos cuando Jesús había aparecido.25Por tanto le dijeron los otros discípulos: Hemos visto al Señor. Pero él les dijo: A menos que vea en sus manos la señal de los clavos, y meta mi dedo en el lugar de los clavos, y meta mi mano en su costado, de ningún modo creeré.26Y ocho días después, otra vez estaban sus discípulos dentro, y Tomás con ellos. Viene Jesús, estando cerradas las puertas, y puesto en el medio, dijo: Paz a vosotros.27Luego dice a Tomás: Trae acá tu dedo y mira mis manos, y acerca tu mano y métela en mi costado; y no seas incrédulo, sino creyente.28Respondió Tomás y le dijo: ¡Señor mío y Dios mío!29Jesús le dice: ¿Porque me has visto, has creído? Bienaventurados los que no vieron y creyeron.
Propósito del libro
30Hizo además Jesús muchas otras señales en presencia de los discípulos, las cuales no están escritas en este rollo;31pero éstas han sido escritas para que creáis que Jesús es el Ungido, el Hijo de Dios, y para que creyendo, tengáis vida en su nombre.
