Jeremias Kauf eines Feldes

1 Das Wort, das von dem HERRN zu Jeremia geschah im zehnten Jahr Zedekias, des Königs von Juda; dieses Jahr war das achtzehnte Jahr Nebukadnezars. (Jer 27,1; Jer 34,1; Jer 52,29) 2 Das Heer des Königs von Babel belagerte damals Jerusalem. Der Prophet Jeremia aber wurde im Wachhof gefangen gehalten, der im Haus des Königs von Juda ist. 3 Denn Zedekia, der König von Juda, hielt ihn gefangen und hatte gesagt: »Warum weissagst du: So spricht der HERR: Siehe, ich gebe diese Stadt in die Hand des Königs von Babel, dass er sie einnimmt. (Jer 26,9; Jer 32,28; Jer 36,29; Jer 38,3)

4 Und Zedekia, der König von Juda, wird der Hand der Chaldäer nicht entrinnen, sondern ganz bestimmt in die Hand des Königs von Babel gegeben werden. Und sein Mund wird mit dessen Mund reden, und seine Augen werden dessen Augen sehen. (Jer 21,7; Jer 25,35; Jer 38,18; Hes 17,15)

5 Und er wird Zedekia nach Babel führen, und dort wird er sein, bis ich mich seiner annehme^[1], spricht der HERR^[2]. Wenn ihr mit den Chaldäern kämpft, werdet ihr keinen Erfolg haben.« (Jer 21,4; Jer 33,5; Jer 39,4) 6 Und Jeremia sprach: Das Wort des HERRN geschah zu mir: 7 Siehe, Hanamel, der Sohn des Schallum, deines Onkels, wird zu dir kommen und sagen: Kauf dir meinen Acker, der in Anatot ⟨liegt⟩! Denn du hast das Lösungsrecht^[3], um ⟨ihn⟩ zu kaufen. (3Mo 25,24; Jer 1,1) 8 Und Hanamel, der Sohn meines Onkels, kam zu mir nach dem Wort des HERRN in den Wachhof und sagte zu mir: Kauf doch meinen Acker, der in Anatot im Land Benjamin ⟨liegt⟩! Denn du hast das Erbrecht^[4], und du hast das Lösungsrecht^[5]. Kauf ihn dir! Da erkannte ich, dass es das Wort des HERRN war. (Sach 11,11) 9 Und ich kaufte von Hanamel, dem Sohn meines Onkels, den Acker, der in Anatot ⟨liegt⟩, und wog ihm das Geld dar: siebzehn Schekel Silber. 10 Und ich schrieb einen ⟨Kauf⟩brief^[6] und versiegelte ihn und nahm Zeugen, und ich wog das Geld auf der Waage dar. (1Mo 23,16; Rut 4,11; Jer 32,44) 11 Dann nahm ich den Kaufbrief, den versiegelten, die Festsetzung und die Bestimmungen und auch den offenen^[7]. 12 Und ich gab den Kaufbrief Baruch, dem Sohn Nerijas, des Sohnes Machsejas, vor den Augen meines Vetters^[8] Hanamel und vor den Augen der Zeugen, die den Kaufbrief unterschrieben hatten, vor den Augen aller Judäer, die im Wachhof saßen. 13 Und ich befahl Baruch vor ihren Augen: 14 So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Nimm diese Briefe, diesen Kaufbrief, sowohl den versiegelten als auch diesen offenen Brief, und lege sie in ein Tongefäß, damit sie viele Tage erhalten bleiben! 15 Denn so spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Es werden wieder Häuser, Felder und Weinberge in diesem Land gekauft werden. (Jer 32,43) 16 Und nachdem ich Baruch, dem Sohn des Nerija, den Kaufbrief gegeben hatte, betete ich zum HERRN: 17 Ach, Herr, HERR! 20 der du Zeichen und Wunder^[10] getan hast im Land Ägypten bis auf diesen Tag, sowohl an Israel als auch an ⟨anderen⟩ Menschen, und dir einen Namen gemacht hast, wie es an diesem Tag ist. (2Mo 3,20; 5Mo 11,3; 2Sam 7,23; Neh 9,10; Jes 63,12; Dan 6,28)

21 Und du hast dein Volk Israel aus dem Land Ägypten herausgeführt mit Zeichen und mit Wundern^[11] und mit starker Hand und mit ausgestrecktem Arm und mit großem Schrecken (2Mo 3,20; 5Mo 4,34; 5Mo 11,3; 2Sam 7,23; Jes 63,12)

22 und hast ihnen dieses Land gegeben, das du ihren Vätern zugeschworen hattest, ihnen zu geben, ein Land, das von Milch und Honig überfließt. (1Mo 15,18; 5Mo 1,8; Jer 11,5) 23 Und sie sind hineingekommen und haben es in Besitz genommen. Aber sie hörten nicht auf deine Stimme, und in deinem Gesetz lebten^[12] sie nicht: sie haben nichts getan von allem, was du ihnen zu tun geboten hattest. 24 Siehe, die Wälle reichen ⟨schon bis an⟩ die Stadt, sie einzunehmen. Und durch das Schwert, durch den Hunger, durch die Pest ist die Stadt in die Hand der Chaldäer gegeben, die gegen sie kämpfen. 25 Und da sagst du zu mir, Herr, HERR: Kauf dir den Acker für Geld und nimm Zeugen, wo doch die Stadt in die Hand der Chaldäer gegeben ist! (Jer 24,10; Jer 32,15; Jer 34,17) 26 Da geschah das Wort des HERRN zu Jeremia: 27 Siehe, ich bin der HERR, der Gott alles Fleisches! Sollte mir irgendein Ding unmöglich^[13] sein? (4Mo 11,23; 4Mo 16,22; Jer 32,17) 28 Darum, so spricht der HERR: Siehe, ich gebe diese Stadt in die Hand der Chaldäer und in die Hand Nebukadnezars, des Königs von Babel, dass er sie einnimmt. (Jer 32,3) 29 Und die Chaldäer, die gegen diese Stadt kämpfen, werden hineinkommen und diese Stadt in Brand stecken und sie niederbrennen samt den Häusern, auf deren Dächern sie dem Baal Rauchopfer dargebracht und andern Göttern Trankopfer gespendet haben, um mich zu reizen. 30 Denn die Söhne Israel und die Söhne Juda taten von ihrer Jugend an nur, was in meinen Augen böse ist. Denn die Söhne Israel haben mich durch das Werk ihrer Hände ⟨immer⟩ nur gereizt, spricht der HERR^[14]. (Jer 25,6; Jer 44,8; Hes 20,28) 31 Denn ⟨Anlass⟩ zu meinem Zorn und zu meinem Grimm ist mir diese Stadt gewesen von dem Tag an, als man sie gebaut hat, bis auf diesen Tag, sodass ich sie von meinem Angesicht entfernen muss (Jer 23,39) 32 wegen all der Bosheit der Söhne Israel und der Söhne Juda, die sie verübt haben, um mich zu reizen, sie, ihre Könige, ihre Obersten, ihre Priester und ihre Propheten und die Männer von Juda und die Bewohner von Jerusalem. Und ⟨obwohl⟩ ich sie lehrte, früh mich aufmachend und lehrend, so hörten sie doch nicht und nahmen keine Zucht an. 35 Und sie haben die Höhen des Baal gebaut, die im Tal Ben-Hinnom ⟨stehen⟩, um ihre Söhne und ihre Töchter für den Moloch^[15] durch ⟨das Feuer⟩ gehen zu lassen – was ich nicht geboten habe und mir nicht in den Sinn gekommen ist, dass sie solche Gräuel verüben sollten –, um so Juda zur Sünde zu verleiten. 36 Nun aber – darum spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels, jetzt so über diese Stadt, von der ihr sagt: Sie ist in die Hand des Königs von Babel gegeben durch das Schwert, durch den Hunger und durch die Pest: (Jer 32,24) 37 Siehe, ich werde sie aus all den Ländern sammeln, wohin ich sie vertrieben habe in meinem Zorn und in meinem Grimm und in großer Entrüstung^[16]. 42 Denn so spricht der HERR: Ebenso wie ich über dieses Volk all dies große Unheil gebracht habe, so will ich über sie ⟨auch⟩ all das Gute bringen, das ich über sie rede. (Jos 23,15; Jer 31,28; Jer 33,14) 43 Und es sollen Felder gekauft werden in diesem Land, von dem ihr sagt: Es ist Ödland, ohne Menschen und ohne Vieh; es ist in die Hand der Chaldäer gegeben. (Jer 32,15; Jer 33,10) 44 Man wird Felder für Geld kaufen und Kaufbriefe schreiben^[20], sie versiegeln und Zeugen ⟨hinzu⟩nehmen im Land Benjamin, in der Umgebung von Jerusalem und in den Städten Judas, sowohl in den Städten des Gebirges als auch in den Städten der Niederung^[21] und in den Städten des Südens. Jeremiah buys a field

1 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar. 2 The army of the king of Babylon was then besieging Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet was confined in the courtyard of the guard in the royal palace of Judah. 3 Now Zedekiah king of Judah had imprisoned him there, saying, ‘Why do you prophesy as you do? You say, “This is what the Lord says: I am about to give this city into the hands of the king of Babylon, and he will capture it. 4 Zedekiah king of Judah will not escape the Babylonians^[1] but will certainly be given into the hands of the king of Babylon, and will speak with him face to face and see him with his own eyes. 5 He will take Zedekiah to Babylon, where he will remain until I deal with him, declares the Lord. If you fight against the Babylonians, you will not succeed.” ’ 6 Jeremiah said, ‘The word of the Lord came to me: 7 Hanamel son of Shallum your uncle is going to come to you and say, “Buy my field at Anathoth, because as nearest relative it is your right and duty to buy it.” 8 ‘Then, just as the Lord had said, my cousin Hanamel came to me in the courtyard of the guard and said, “Buy my field at Anathoth in the territory of Benjamin. Since it is your right to redeem it and possess it, buy it for yourself.” ‘I knew that this was the word of the Lord; 9 so I bought the field at Anathoth from my cousin Hanamel and weighed out for him seventeen shekels^[2] of silver. 10 I signed and sealed the deed, had it witnessed, and weighed out the silver on the scales. 11 I took the deed of purchase – the sealed copy containing the terms and conditions, as well as the unsealed copy – 12 and I gave this deed to Baruch son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, in the presence of my cousin Hanamel and of the witnesses who had signed the deed and of all the Jews sitting in the courtyard of the guard. 13 ‘In their presence I gave Baruch these instructions: 14 “This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: take these documents, both the sealed and unsealed copies of the deed of purchase, and put them in a clay jar so that they will last a long time. 15 For this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: houses, fields and vineyards will again be bought in this land.” 16 ‘After I had given the deed of purchase to Baruch son of Neriah, I prayed to the Lord: 17 ‘Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you. 18 You show love to thousands but bring the punishment for the parents’ sins into the laps of their children after them. Great and mighty God, whose name is the Lord Almighty, 19 great are your purposes and mighty are your deeds. Your eyes are open to the ways of all mankind; you reward each person according to their conduct and as their deeds deserve. 20 You performed signs and wonders in Egypt and have continued them to this day, in Israel and among all mankind, and have gained the renown that is still yours. 21 You brought your people Israel out of Egypt with signs and wonders, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with great terror. 22 You gave them this land you had sworn to give to their ancestors, a land flowing with milk and honey. 23 They came in and took possession of it, but they did not obey you or follow your law; they did not do what you commanded them to do. So you brought all this disaster on them. 24 ‘See how the siege ramps are built up to take the city. Because of the sword, famine and plague, the city will be given into the hands of the Babylonians who are attacking it. What you said has happened, as you now see. 25 And though the city will be given into the hands of the Babylonians, you, Sovereign Lord, say to me, “Buy the field with silver and have the transaction witnessed.” ’ 26 Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: 27 ‘I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me? 28 Therefore this is what the Lord says: I am about to give this city into the hands of the Babylonians and to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, who will capture it. 29 The Babylonians who are attacking this city will come in and set it on fire; they will burn it down, along with the houses where the people aroused my anger by burning incense on the roofs to Baal and by pouring out drink offerings to other gods. 30 ‘The people of Israel and Judah have done nothing but evil in my sight from their youth; indeed, the people of Israel have done nothing but arouse my anger with what their hands have made, declares the Lord. 31 From the day it was built until now, this city has so aroused my anger and wrath that I must remove it from my sight. 32 The people of Israel and Judah have provoked me by all the evil they have done – they, their kings and officials, their priests and prophets, the people of Judah and those living in Jerusalem. 33 They turned their backs to me and not their faces; though I taught them again and again, they would not listen or respond to discipline. 34 They set up their vile images in the house that bears my Name and defiled it. 35 They built high places for Baal in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to sacrifice their sons and daughters to Molek, though I never commanded – nor did it enter my mind – that they should do such a detestable thing and so make Judah sin. 36 ‘You are saying about this city, “By the sword, famine and plague it will be given into the hands of the king of Babylon”; but this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: 37 I will surely gather them from all the lands where I banish them in my furious anger and great wrath; I will bring them back to this place and let them live in safety. 38 They will be my people, and I will be their God. 39 I will give them singleness of heart and action, so that they will always fear me and that all will then go well for them and for their children after them. 40 I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me. 41 I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this land with all my heart and soul. 42 ‘This is what the Lord says: as I have brought all this great calamity on this people, so I will give them all the prosperity I have promised them. 43 Once more fields will be bought in this land of which you say, “It is a desolate waste, without people or animals, for it has been given into the hands of the Babylonians.” 44 Fields will be bought for silver, and deeds will be signed, sealed and witnessed in the territory of Benjamin, in the villages around Jerusalem, in the towns of Judah and in the towns of the hill country, of the western foothills and of the Negev, because I will restore their fortunes,^[3] declares the Lord.’
