(Ps 10,4; Ps 53,1; Pred 7,20)2Der HERR hat vom Himmel herniedergeschaut auf die Menschenkinder, um zu sehen, ob ein Verständiger da ist, einer, der Gott sucht! (Ps 11,4; Ps 33,13)3Alle sind abgewichen, sie sind alle verdorben; da ist keiner, der Gutes tut, auch nicht einer. (1Mo 6,12; Röm 3,10)4Haben denn keine Erkenntnis alle, die Böses tun, die mein Volk fressen, als äßen sie Brot? Den HERRN rufen sie nicht an. (Jes 64,6; Mi 3,3)5Da überfiel sie Schrecken, denn Gott ist beim Geschlecht[1] des Gerechten.6Den Plan des Elenden wollt ihr zuschanden machen, aber[2] seine Zuflucht ist der HERR.7Käme doch aus Zion die Rettung für Israel! Wenn der HERR die Gefangenschaft seines Volkes wendet, wird Jakob jubeln, Israel sich freuen. (Ps 126,1; Jes 35,10)
1Foolish people say in their hearts, ‘There is no God.’ They do all kinds of horrible and evil things. No one does anything good.2The LORD looks down from heaven on all people. He wants to see if there are any who understand. He wants to see if there are any who trust in God.3All of them have turned away. They have all become evil. No one does anything good, no one at all.4Do all these people who do evil know nothing? They eat up my people as if they were eating bread. They never call out to the LORD.5But just look at them! They are filled with terror because God is among those who do right.6You who do evil keep poor people from succeeding. But the LORD is their place of safety.7How I pray that the God who saves Israel will come out of Zion! Then the LORD will bless his people with great success again. So let the people of Jacob be filled with joy! Let Israel be glad!
