1Und der HERR sprach zu Aaron: Du und deine Söhne und das Haus deines Vaters mit dir, ihr sollt die Schuld[1] am Heiligtum tragen; und du und deine Söhne mit dir, ihr sollt die Schuld[2] in eurem Priesteramt tragen. (2Mo 28,38)2Und auch deine Brüder, den Stamm Levi, den Stamm deines Vaters, lass mit dir herzunahen, dass sie sich dir anschließen und dir dienen; du aber und deine Söhne mit dir, ⟨ihr sollt⟩ vor dem Zelt des Zeugnisses sein. (1Mo 29,34; 4Mo 3,6; Mal 2,4)3Und sie sollen deinen Dienst verrichten und den Dienst am ganzen Zelt; nur den Geräten des Heiligtums und dem Altar sollen sie nicht nahen, damit sie nicht sterben, sowohl sie als auch ihr. (4Mo 1,53; 4Mo 4,15; Hes 44,13; Hebr 9,6)4Und sie sollen sich dir anschließen und den Dienst am Zelt der Begegnung verrichten nach aller Arbeit für das Zelt; aber kein Fremder[3] soll euch nahen. (4Mo 1,51; 4Mo 1,53; Hebr 9,6)5Und ihr sollt den Dienst am Heiligtum und den Dienst am Altar verrichten, damit kein Zorn mehr über die Söhne Israel kommt. (4Mo 1,50; 1Chr 23,24; Hes 44,15)6Und ich, siehe, ich habe eure Brüder, die Leviten, aus der Mitte der Söhne Israel herausgenommen; euch als Geschenk sind sie dem HERRN gegeben[4], die Arbeit für das Zelt der Begegnung zu verrichten. (4Mo 3,6)7Du aber und deine Söhne mit dir, ihr sollt euer Priesteramt versehen in allem, was den Altar betrifft, und innerhalb des Vorhangs und so die Arbeit tun; als eine geschenkte Aufgabe gebe ich euch das Priesteramt. Der Fremde aber, der sich nähert, soll getötet werden. (2Mo 28,1; 3Mo 16,2; 4Mo 1,51; 4Mo 3,10)8Und der HERR redete zu Aaron: Und ich, siehe, ich habe dir den Dienst meiner Hebopfer gegeben. Von allen heiligen Gaben[5] der Söhne Israel habe ich sie dir und deinen Söhnen gegeben als Anteil, als eine ewige Ordnung[6]. (3Mo 7,14; 3Mo 7,35; 4Mo 5,9)9Dies soll dir gehören von dem Hochheiligen, ⟨alles,⟩ was nicht verbrannt wird[7]: Alle ihre Gaben an allen ihren Speisopfern und an allen ihren Sündopfern und an allen ihren Schuldopfern, die sie mir darbringen[8], als ein Hochheiliges soll es dir und deinen Söhnen gehören. (3Mo 2,3; 3Mo 6,19; 5Mo 18,1; 2Kön 12,17)10An einem hochheiligen ⟨Ort⟩ sollst du es essen, jede männliche ⟨Person⟩ darf es essen; es soll dir heilig sein. (3Mo 7,6)11Und dies soll dir gehören: Die Hebopfer ihrer Gaben an allen Schwingopfern der Söhne Israel; dir und deinen Söhnen und deinen Töchtern bei dir habe ich sie gegeben als eine ewige Ordnung[9]; jeder Reine in deinem Hause darf es essen. (3Mo 27,21)15Alles, was ⟨zuerst⟩ den Mutterschoß durchbricht, von allem Fleisch, das sie dem HERRN darbringen an Menschen und an Vieh, soll dir gehören; nur sollst du unbedingt den Erstgeborenen vom Menschen auslösen, und ⟨auch⟩ das Erstgeborene vom unreinen Vieh sollst du auslösen. (2Mo 13,13)16Und die zu Lösenden unter ihnen sollst du ⟨im Alter⟩ von einem Monat auslösen, nach deiner Einschätzung mit fünf Schekel Silber nach dem Schekel des Heiligtums, der zwanzig Gera beträgt. (2Mo 30,13; 4Mo 3,47)17Aber das Erstgeborene vom Rind oder das Erstgeborene von den Schafen oder das Erstgeborene von den Ziegen sollst du nicht auslösen; sie sind heilig. Ihr Blut sollst du an den Altar sprengen, und ihr Fett sollst du als Feueropfer in Rauch aufgehen lassen zum wohlgefälligen Geruch[12] für den HERRN. (3Mo 3,2; 5Mo 15,19)18Und ihr Fleisch soll dir gehören; wie die Brust des Schwingopfers und die rechte Keule soll es dir gehören. (3Mo 7,32; Neh 10,37)19Alle Hebopfer der heiligen Gaben[13], die die Söhne Israel dem HERRN abheben, habe ich dir gegeben und deinen Söhnen und deinen Töchtern mit dir, als eine ewige Ordnung[14]; es ist ein ewiger Salzbund vor dem HERRN für dich und für deine Nachkommen mit dir. (2Mo 29,27; 3Mo 21,22; 2Chr 13,5)20Und der HERR sprach zu Aaron: In ihrem Land sollst du nichts erben[15] und sollst keinen Anteil in ihrer Mitte haben; ich bin dein Anteil und dein Erbe inmitten der Söhne Israel. (4Mo 26,62; 5Mo 10,9; Jos 13,14)21Und siehe, den Söhnen Levi habe ich den gesamten Zehnten in Israel zum Erbteil gegeben für ihre Arbeit, die sie verrichten, die Arbeit für das Zelt der Begegnung. (3Mo 27,30; 4Mo 3,6; Neh 10,38; Neh 13,12; Hebr 7,5)22Und die Söhne Israel sollen nicht mehr dem Zelt der Begegnung nahen, sonst laden sie[16] Sünde auf sich und müssen sterben; (2Mo 28,43)23die Leviten sollen vielmehr[17] die Arbeit am Zelt der Begegnung verrichten, und sie allein sollen ihre Schuld tragen: eine ewige Ordnung für ⟨alle⟩ eure Generationen. Aber inmitten der Söhne Israel sollen sie kein Erbteil besitzen; (2Mo 27,21; 4Mo 19,21; 4Mo 26,62; 4Mo 35,29; 5Mo 10,9; Jos 13,14)24denn den Zehnten der Söhne Israel, den sie dem HERRN als Hebopfer abheben, habe ich den Leviten zum Erbteil gegeben; darum habe ich von ihnen gesagt, dass sie inmitten der Söhne Israel kein Erbteil besitzen sollen. (3Mo 27,30; 4Mo 26,62; 5Mo 10,9; Jos 13,14; Neh 10,38; Neh 13,12; Hebr 7,5)25Und der HERR redete zu Mose und sprach:26Und zu den Leviten sollst du reden und zu ihnen sagen: Wenn ihr von den Söhnen Israel den Zehnten nehmt, den ich euch von ihnen als euer Erbteil gegeben habe, dann sollt ihr davon ein Hebopfer für den HERRN abheben, den Zehnten von dem Zehnten. (Neh 10,39)27Und euer Hebopfer wird euch angerechnet werden wie das Getreide von der Tenne und wie die Fülle von der Kelterkufe.28So sollt auch ihr ein Hebopfer für den HERRN abheben von allen euren Zehnten, die ihr von den Söhnen Israel nehmt, und davon das Hebopfer für den HERRN Aaron, dem Priester, geben. (4Mo 31,29)29Von allem euch Gegebenen sollt ihr alle Hebopfer des HERRN abheben, von allem Besten[18] davon als heilige ⟨Gabe⟩.30Und du sollst zu ihnen sagen: Wenn ihr das Beste[19] davon abhebt, dann soll es den Leviten angerechnet werden wie der Ertrag der Tenne und wie der Ertrag der Kelterkufe.31Und ihr dürft ihn essen an jedem Ort, ihr und euer Haus; denn das ist euer Lohn für eure Arbeit am Zelt der Begegnung. (Mt 10,10; 1Kor 9,13)32Und ihr werdet deshalb keine Sünde auf euch laden, wenn ihr das Beste[20] davon abhebt, und werdet die heiligen Gaben[21] der Söhne Israel nicht entweihen und nicht sterben. (2Mo 28,43)
1The LORD spoke to Aaron. He said, ‘You, your sons and your family are in charge of the sacred tent. You will be responsible for sins connected with the tent. And you and your sons alone will be responsible for sins connected with the office of priest.2Bring the Levites from your tribe to join you. They will help you when you and your sons serve at the tent of meeting. That is where the tablets of the covenant law are kept.3The Levites will work for you. They must do everything that needs to be done at the tent. But they must not go near anything that belongs to the sacred tent. And they must not go near the altar. If they do, they and you will die.4They will help you take care of the tent of meeting. They will join you in all the work at the tent. No one else can come near you there.5‘You will be responsible for taking care of the sacred tent and the altar. Then I will not be angry with the Israelites again.6I myself have chosen the Levites. I have chosen them from among the Israelites. They are a gift to you. I have set them apart to do the work at the tent of meeting.7But only you and your sons can serve as priests. Only you and your sons can work with everything at the altar and behind the curtain. I am letting you serve as priests. It is a gift from me. Anyone else who comes near the sacred tent must be put to death.’
Offerings for priests and Levites
8Then the LORD spoke to Aaron. He said, ‘I have put you in charge of the offerings brought to me. The Israelites will give me holy offerings. I will give all their offerings to you and your sons. They are the part that belongs to you. They are your share for all time to come.9You will have a part of the very holy offerings. It is the part not burned in the fire. That part belongs to you and your sons. You will have a part of all the gifts the people bring me as very holy offerings. It does not matter whether they are grain offerings or sin offerings or guilt offerings.10Eat your part as something that is very holy. Every male will eat it. You must consider it holy.11‘Part of the gifts the Israelites bring as wave offerings will be set aside. That part will also belong to you. I will give it to you and your sons and daughters. It is your share for all time to come. Everyone in your home who is “clean” can eat it.12‘I will give you all the finest olive oil and corn the people give me. And I will give you all the finest fresh wine they give me. They give all those things as the first share of their harvest.13All the first shares of the harvest they bring me will belong to you. Everyone in your home who is “clean” can eat it.14‘Everything in Israel that is set apart to me belongs to you.15Offer to me every male born first to its mother. It belongs to you. That includes humans and animals alike. But you must buy back every eldest son. Suppose certain animals are “unclean”. Then you must buy back every male born first to its mother.16When they are a month old, you must buy them back. You must pay the price to buy them back. The price is set at 60 grams of silver. It must be weighed out according to the standard weights used in the sacred tent.17‘But you must not buy back any male calf, sheep or goat born first. They are holy. Splash their blood against the altar. And burn their fat as a food offering. Its smell pleases me.18The meat will belong to you. It is just like the breast and the right thigh of the wave offering. Those parts belong to you.19Part of the holy offerings the Israelites bring to me will be set aside. No matter what it is, I will give it to you and your sons and daughters. It is your share for all time to come. It is a covenant of salt from me. The salt means that the covenant will last for all time to come for you and your children.’20The LORD spoke to Aaron. He said, ‘You will not receive any part of the land I am giving to Israel. You will not have any share among them. I am your share. I am what you will receive among the Israelites.21‘The Israelites will give me a tenth of everything they produce. And I will give it to the Levites. They serve at the tent of meeting. I will give them the tenth for the work they do there.22From now on the Israelites must not go near the tent of meeting. If they do, they will be punished for their sin. They will die.23The Levites will do the work at the tent of meeting. They will be responsible for any sins connected with the tent. This is a law that will last for all time to come. The Levites will not receive any share among the Israelites.24Instead, I will give the Levites the tenth as their share. It is the tenth that the Israelites bring me as an offering. That is why I said the Levites would not have any share of land among the Israelites.’25The LORD said to Moses,26‘Speak to the Levites. Say to them, “You will receive the tenth from the Israelites. I will give it to you as your share. When I do, you must give a tenth of that tenth as an offering to the LORD.27Your offering will be considered as if you gave corn from a threshing-floor. It will be considered as juice from a winepress.28In that way, you also will bring an offering to the LORD. You will bring it from the tenth you receive from the Israelites. You must give the LORD’s part to the priest Aaron. You must bring it from the tenth you receive.29You must bring to the LORD a part of everything given to you. It must be the best and holiest part.”30‘Say to the Levites, “You must bring the best part. Then it will be considered as if you gave corn from a threshing-floor. It will be considered as juice from a winepress.31You and your families can eat the rest of it anywhere. It is your pay for your work at the tent of meeting.32Bring the best part of what you receive. Then you will not be guilty of holding anything back. You will not make the holy offerings of the Israelites ‘unclean’. You will not die.” ’
