Salomos Vertrag mit Hiram – Vorbereitungen zum Tempelbau
1Und Salomo zählte 70 000 Lastträger ab und 80 000 Steinhauer im Gebirge und 3 600 Aufseher über sie. (1Kön 5,15)2Und Salomo sandte zu Hiram, dem König von Tyrus, und ließ ⟨ihm⟩ sagen: Wie du es bei meinem Vater David getan und ihm Zedern gesandt hast, damit er sich ein Haus baute, um darin zu wohnen, ⟨so tu es auch bei mir!⟩ (1Chr 14,1)3Siehe, ich will dem Namen des HERRN, meines Gottes, ein Haus bauen, um es ihm zu weihen, um wohlriechendes Räucherwerk als Rauchopfer vor ihm darzubringen und ⟨um⟩ das ständige Schaubrot[1] ⟨aufzulegen⟩ und morgens und abends Brandopfer ⟨zu opfern⟩ an den Sabbaten und an den Neumonden und an den Festen des HERRN, unseres Gottes. Das ist für ewig Israel auferlegt. (2Mo 25,30; 2Mo 29,38; 2Mo 30,7; 3Mo 23,2; 4Mo 28,9; 2Chr 4,19; 2Chr 8,13; 2Chr 13,11; 2Chr 24,14; Esr 6,3; Neh 10,34)4Und das Haus, das ich bauen will, soll groß sein; denn unser Gott ist größer als alle Götter. (1Chr 22,5; Ps 86,8; Ps 96,4)5Aber wer kann ihm ein Haus bauen? Denn der Himmel und die Himmel der Himmel können ihn nicht fassen. Und wer bin ich, dass ich ihm ein Haus bauen sollte, es sei denn, um Rauchopfer vor ihm darzubringen? (1Kön 8,27; 1Chr 29,14; 2Chr 6,18; 2Chr 29,11; Ps 148,4; Jes 66,1; Lk 1,9)6Und nun sende mir einen Mann, der darin erfahren ist, in Gold und in Silber und in Bronze und in Eisen und in rotem Purpur und Karmesin und violettem Purpur zu arbeiten, und der Gravierungen[2] zu machen versteht, zusammen mit den Künstlern, die bei mir in Juda und in Jerusalem sind, die mein Vater David bestellt hat! (1Kön 7,13; 1Chr 22,15)7Und sende mir Zedern-, Wacholder- und Almuggimholz vom Libanon! Denn ich weiß, dass deine Knechte das Holz des Libanon zu schlagen verstehen. Und siehe, meine Knechte sollen mit deinen Knechten zusammenarbeiten[3]. (1Kön 10,11; Hes 27,5)8Und man soll mir Holz zubereiten in Menge. Denn das Haus, das ich bauen will, soll groß und wunderbar sein. (1Chr 22,5)9Und siehe, den Holzfällern, die das Holz schlagen, gebe ich ⟨hiermit⟩ Weizen zur Verpflegung[4] für deine Knechte, 20 000 Kor, und 20 000 Kor Gerste und 20 000 Bat Wein und 20 000 Bat Öl.10Und Hiram, der König von Tyrus, antwortete in einem Schreiben und sandte es an Salomo: Weil der HERR sein Volk liebt, hat er dich zum König über sie gemacht. (1Chr 14,2; 2Chr 9,8)11Und Hiram sprach: Gepriesen sei der HERR, der Gott Israels, der Himmel und Erde gemacht hat, dass er dem König David einen weisen Sohn gegeben hat, voller Verstand und Einsicht, der dem HERRN ein Haus bauen will und ein Haus für seine Königsherrschaft! (1Mo 1,1)12So sende ich nun einen kunstfertigen, einsichtsvollen Mann, Hiram-Abi[5],13den Sohn einer Frau von den Töchtern Dan. Und sein Vater war ein Tyrer. Er versteht, in Gold und Silber zu arbeiten, in Bronze, in Eisen, in Steinen und in Holz, in rotem Purpur, in violettem Purpur und in Byssus und in Karmesin und jegliche Gravierung[6] zu machen und jeden Entwurf zu ersinnen, der ihm aufgegeben wird, zusammen mit deinen Künstlern und den Künstlern meines Herrn David, deines Vaters.14Und nun, den Weizen und die Gerste, das Öl und den Wein, von denen mein Herr gesprochen hat, möge er seinen Knechten senden.15Wir aber, wir werden Holz vom Libanon schlagen nach all deinem Bedarf und werden es dir in Flößen auf dem Meer nach Jafo bringen. Du kannst es dann nach Jerusalem hinaufschaffen. (Jos 19,46; Esr 3,7; Jes 60,13; Jon 1,3)16Und Salomo zählte alle Fremden, die im Land Israel waren, nach der Zählung, die ⟨schon⟩ sein Vater David unter ihnen vorgenommen hatte; und es fanden sich 153 600. (Jos 9,27; 1Chr 22,2; 2Chr 8,7; 2Chr 30,25)17Und er machte von ihnen 70 000 zu Lastträgern und 80 000 zu Steinhauern im Gebirge und 3 600 zu Aufsehern, um das Volk zur Arbeit anzuhalten.
1Solomon gave orders to build a temple. That’s where the LORD would put his Name. Solomon also gave orders to build a royal palace for himself.2He chose 70,000 men to carry things. He chose 80,000 to cut stones in the hills. He put 3,600 men in charge of them.3Solomon sent a message to Hiram. Hiram was king of Tyre. Solomon said, ‘Send me cedar logs, just as you did for my father David. You sent him cedar to build a palace to live in.4Now I’m about to build a temple. The Name of the LORD my God will be there. I’ll set the temple apart for him. Sweet-smelling incense will be burned in front of him there. The holy bread will be set out at regular times. Burnt offerings will be sacrificed there every morning and evening. They will be sacrificed every Sabbath day. They will be sacrificed at every New Moon feast. And they will be sacrificed at every yearly appointed feast of the LORD our God. That’s a law for Israel that will last for all time to come.5‘The temple I’m going to build will be beautiful. That’s because our God is greater than all other gods.6So who is able to build a temple for him? After all, the heavens can’t hold him. In fact, not even the highest heavens can hold him. So who am I to build a temple for him? It will only be a place to burn sacrifices in front of him.7‘Send me a man skilled at working with gold, silver, bronze and iron. He must also be able to work with purple, blue and bright red yarn. He must be skilled in the art of carving. Send him to work in Judah and Jerusalem with my skilled workers. My father David provided them to help me.8‘Also send me cedar, juniper and algum logs from Lebanon. I know that your servants are skilled in cutting wood there. My servants will work with yours.9They’ll provide me with plenty of lumber. That’s because the temple I’m building must be large and beautiful.10I’ll pay your servants. They will cut the wood. I’ll pay them 3,000 tonnes of wheat that has been ground up. I’ll pay them 2,400 tonnes of barley. I’ll also pay them 480,000 litres of wine and 480,000 litres of olive oil.’11King Hiram of Tyre replied to Solomon. He wrote a letter to him. In it Hiram said, ‘The LORD loves his people. That’s why he has made you their king.’12Hiram continued, ‘I praise the LORD. He is the God of Israel. He made heaven and earth. He has given King David a wise son. You have good sense. You understand what is right. You will build a temple for the LORD. You will also build a palace for yourself.13‘I’m sending Huram-Abi to you. He is very skilful.14His mother was from Dan. His father was from Tyre. He is trained to work with gold, silver, bronze and iron. He knows how to work with stone and wood. He can also work with purple, blue and bright red yarn and fine linen. He’s skilled in all kinds of carving. He can follow any pattern you give him. He’ll work with your skilled workers. He’ll also work with those of your father David. David was my master.15‘Now please send us what you promised. Send us the wheat, barley, olive oil and wine.16And we’ll cut all the logs from Lebanon that you need. We’ll make rafts out of them. We’ll float them by sea down to Joppa. Then you can take them up to Jerusalem.’17Solomon counted all the outsiders who were living in Israel. He did it after his father David had counted them. There were 153,600 of them.18He chose 70,000 to carry things. He chose 80,000 to cut stones in the hills. He put 3,600 men in charge of the people to keep them working.
