1Jeder, der glaubt, dass Jesus der Christus ist, ist aus Gott geboren[1]; und jeder, der den liebt, der geboren hat, liebt den, der aus ihm geboren ist. (Mk 8,29; Gal 3,26; 1Petr 1,22; 1Joh 2,29; 1Joh 4,2)2Hieran erkennen wir, dass wir die Kinder Gottes lieben, wenn wir Gott lieben und seine Gebote befolgen.3Denn dies ist die Liebe zu Gott[2]: dass wir seine Gebote halten; und seine Gebote sind nicht schwer. (Ps 119,47; Mt 11,30; Joh 14,15; 1Joh 2,5)
Der weltüberwindende Glaube an das Zeugnis Gottes über seinen Sohn
4Denn alles, was aus Gott geboren[3] ist, überwindet die Welt; und dies ist der Sieg, der die Welt überwunden hat: unser Glaube. (Joh 16,33)5Wer aber ist es, der die Welt überwindet, wenn nicht der, der glaubt, dass Jesus der Sohn Gottes ist? (1Joh 4,15)6Dieser ist es, der gekommen ist durch Wasser und Blut: Jesus Christus; nicht im Wasser allein, sondern im Wasser und im Blut. Und der Geist ist es, der ⟨dies⟩ bezeugt, denn der Geist ist die Wahrheit. (Joh 15,26; Joh 19,34; Hebr 9,19; 1Joh 4,6)7Denn es sind drei, die ⟨es⟩ bezeugen:8der Geist und das Wasser und das Blut; und die drei sind einstimmig[4].9Wenn wir ⟨schon⟩ das Zeugnis der Menschen annehmen, das Zeugnis Gottes ist größer; denn dies ist das Zeugnis Gottes, dass er über seinen Sohn Zeugnis abgelegt hat. (Joh 5,32)10Wer an den Sohn Gottes glaubt, hat das Zeugnis in sich[5]; wer Gott nicht glaubt, hat ihn zum Lügner gemacht, weil er nicht an das Zeugnis geglaubt hat, das Gott über seinen Sohn bezeugt hat. (Joh 3,33; Röm 8,16; 1Kor 2,1; 1Joh 1,10)11Und dies ist das Zeugnis: dass Gott uns ewiges Leben gegeben hat, und dieses Leben ist in seinem Sohn. (Joh 1,4; Röm 6,23; 1Joh 1,2)12Wer den Sohn hat, hat das Leben; wer den Sohn Gottes nicht hat, hat das Leben nicht. (Joh 3,36; Joh 6,53)13Dies habe ich euch geschrieben, damit ihr wisst, dass ihr ewiges Leben habt, die ihr an den Namen des Sohnes Gottes glaubt. (Joh 20,31; 1Joh 4,9)
Zuversicht im Gebet und in der Bewahrung vor der Sünde
14Und dies ist die Zuversicht[6], die wir zu ihm haben, dass er uns hört, wenn wir etwas nach seinem Willen bitten. (Ps 65,3; Mt 7,7; 1Joh 3,21)15Und wenn wir wissen, dass er uns hört, was wir auch bitten, so wissen wir, dass wir das Erbetene haben, das wir von ihm erbeten haben. (Mk 11,24)16Wenn jemand seinen Bruder sündigen sieht, eine Sünde nicht zum Tod, soll er bitten, und er wird ihm das Leben geben, denen, die nicht zum Tod sündigen. Es gibt Sünde zum Tod; nicht im Hinblick auf sie sage ich, dass er bitten[7] solle. (Spr 28,17)17Jede Ungerechtigkeit ist Sünde; und es gibt Sünde⟨, die⟩ nicht zum Tod ⟨ist⟩[8]. (5Mo 22,26)18Wir wissen, dass jeder, der aus Gott geboren[9] ist, nicht sündigt; sondern der aus Gott Geborene[10] bewahrt sich[11], und der Böse tastet ihn nicht an. (Gal 1,4; 1Joh 5,1)20Wir wissen aber, dass der Sohn Gottes gekommen ist und uns Verständnis gegeben hat, damit wir den Wahrhaftigen erkennen; und wir sind in dem Wahrhaftigen, in seinem Sohn Jesus Christus.
