Ankündigung des Sieges Assurs über Ägypten und Kusch
1In dem Jahr, in dem der Tartan[1] nach Aschdod kam, als Sargon, der König von Assur, ihn gesandt hatte und er gegen Aschdod kämpfte und es einnahm, (1Sam 5,1; 2Kön 18,17; 2Chr 26,6; Jes 14,31)2in dieser Zeit redete der HERR durch Jesaja, den Sohn des Amoz: Geh und löse das Sacktuch von deinen Hüften und ziehe deine Sandalen von deinen Füßen! Und er tat es, ging nackt[2] und barfuß. (1Sam 19,24; Mi 1,8)3Da sprach der HERR: Ebenso wie mein Knecht Jesaja nackt und barfuß gegangen ist, drei Jahre lang als Zeichen und Wahrzeichen über Ägypten und über Kusch, (Jer 13,1; Hes 4,1; Hes 30,4)4so wird der König von Assur die Gefangenen Ägyptens und die Weggeführten von Kusch wegtreiben, junge Männer und Greise, nackt und barfuß und mit entblößtem Gesäß, zur Schande Ägyptens. (2Sam 10,4; Jes 19,4; Jer 46,19)5Und sie werden schreckerfüllt und beschämt sein wegen Kuschs, ihrer Hoffnung, und wegen Ägyptens, ihres Stolzes. (Jes 30,3; Jes 36,6; Zef 2,12)6Und die Bewohner dieses Küstenlandes[3] werden an jenem Tag sagen: Siehe, so ist es mit unserer Hoffnung, zu der wir um Hilfe flohen, um vor dem König von Assur gerettet zu werden! 1In the year that Tartan came unto Ashdod, (when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him,) and fought against Ashdod, and took it;2At the same time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.3And the LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia;4So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.5And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.6And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, whither we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?

Le prophète obéit et se promena nu et déchaussé.3L’Eternel dit alors: Mon serviteur Esaïe a marché nu et déchaussé pendant trois ans pour servir de signe et de présage au sujet de l’Egypte et de l’Ethiopie.4Ainsi le roi d’Assyrie emmènera en déportation des captifs égyptiens et éthiopiens, des jeunes et des vieillards, nus et déchaussés et les reins découverts, à la honte de l’Egypte.5Et tous ceux qui avaient mis leur confiance en l’Ethiopie et se faisaient une fierté de l’Egypte, seront terrifiés et couverts de honte.6Les habitants de ces régions du littoral diront en ce jour-là: « Voilà à quoi en sont réduits ceux auprès de qui nous espérions nous réfugier pour trouver de l’aide et du secours contre le roi d’Assyrie. Et nous, maintenant, comment échapperons-nous? »
