1Im zehnten Jahr, im zehnten ⟨Monat⟩, am Zwölften des Monats, geschah das Wort des HERRN zu mir so: (Hes 8,1; Hes 29,17)2Menschensohn, richte dein Gesicht gegen den Pharao, den König von Ägypten, und weissage über ihn und über ganz Ägypten. (Jer 25,17; Jer 44,30)3Rede und sage: So spricht der Herr, HERR: Siehe, ich will an dich, Pharao, König von Ägypten, du großes Seeungeheuer, das inmitten seiner Ströme[1] liegt, das da sagt: »Mein Strom gehört mir, und ich selbst habe ihn mir gemacht.« (Jes 27,1; Hes 28,2; Dan 4,27; Am 6,13)4Ich lege Haken in deine Kinnbacken und lasse die Fische deiner Ströme[2] an deinen Schuppen haften und ziehe dich aus deinen Strömen herauf mit allen Fischen deiner Ströme, die an deinen Schuppen haften. (Jes 37,29; Hes 38,4)5Und ich werfe dich in die Wüste, dich und alle Fische deiner Ströme[3]; auf die Fläche des Feldes wirst du fallen. Weil du dem Haus Israel eine Stütze aus Schilfrohr gewesen bist[4] – (2Kön 18,21; Kla 4,17; Hes 17,17)7wenn sie dich mit der Hand fassten, knicktest du ein und rissest ihnen die ganze Schulter[5] auf; und wenn sie sich auf dich lehnten, zerbrachst du und ließest ihnen allen die Hüften wanken[6] –; (Jes 20,5; Jes 30,3; Nah 3,9)8darum, so spricht der Herr, HERR: Siehe, ich bringe das Schwert über dich und rotte aus dir Menschen und Vieh aus;9und das Land Ägypten wird zur Einöde und Trümmerstätte werden. Und sie werden erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin. Weil du sagst[7]: »Der Strom[8] gehört mir, und ich selbst habe ihn gemacht«; (Hes 28,2; Dan 4,27; Am 6,13)10darum, siehe, will ich an dich und an deine Ströme[9]; und ich mache das Land Ägypten zu Trümmerstätten der Verwüstung, ⟨zur⟩ Einöde, von Migdol[10] ⟨bis nach⟩ Syene[11], bis an die Grenze von Kusch. Parce que tu as dit: “Le Nil m’appartient et c’est moi qui l’ai fait”,10à cause de cela, je vais m’en prendre à toi, à toi et à tes fleuves, et faire de l’Egypte des ruines, des ruines désertiques de Migdol à Assouan[5] et jusqu’à la frontière de l’Ethiopie.11Il n’y passera plus ni homme ni bête, car, pendant quarante ans, elle sera inhabitée.12Je ferai de l’Egypte le plus désertique de tous les pays et de ses villes les plus ravagées de toutes les villes en ruine: cela durera quarante ans. Je disséminerai les Egyptiens parmi les autres peuples, je les disperserai dans différents pays.13Mais voici ce que dit le Seigneur, l’Eternel: Au bout de quarante ans, moi, je rassemblerai les Egyptiens d’entre les peuples où on les aura dispersés,14et je ramènerai les captifs de l’Egypte, je les rétablirai au pays de Patros[6], leur pays d’origine, et là ils formeront un modeste royaume.15L’Egypte sera plus modeste que les autres royaumes, elle ne s’élèvera plus au-dessus des autres peuples. Je réduirai leur importance afin qu’ils ne dominent plus sur les autres peuples.16La communauté d’Israël ne mettra plus jamais sa confiance en eux. Le salaire pour le siège de Tyr
17Le premier jour du premier mois de la vingt-septième année[8], l’Eternel m’adressa la parole en ces termes:18Fils d’homme, Nabuchodonosor, le roi de Babylone, a soumis son armée à un effort immense pour lutter contre Tyr[9]. Les têtes des soldats en sont devenues chauves et toutes les épaules ont été écorchées[10] mais il n’a retiré aucun profit de Tyr, ni pour lui, ni pour son armée, pour cette opération qu’il a menée contre elle.19C’est pourquoi le Seigneur, l’Eternel, dit ceci: Je vais donner l’Egypte à Nabuchodonosor, le roi de Babylone. Il en emportera les nombreuses richesses, il y prendra un butin et la pillera complètement. L’Egypte servira de salaire à ses troupes.20Pour le rétribuer du travail contre Tyr, je lui livre l’Egypte, parce que ses troupes ont œuvré pour moi. C’est là ce que déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel.21En ce jour-là, je ferai croître la force d’Israël. Quant à toi, tu pourras parler librement parmi eux[11], et ils reconnaîtront que je suis l’Eternel.
